@@cross6588 I'm not even sure what you're saying, but yeah, didn't think it looked that fast, then timed it and it was insanely fast. And I do believe it and I'm very impressed. You need me to explain it more?
Bo ran 4.12. Without warm up and asked to have the doors open so he could keep running to track practice so he wouldn’t have to talk to any of the NFL scouts.
Su Bingtian holds the fastest time to run to 60m at 6.29s. Assuming he reached top velocity way before 40 yards (36.576m) and maintained his speed, he would make a 3.83s 40-yard dash.
Bo's 40 was absolutely not true. That is one of the most annoying myths, also disrespectful to everyone who ACTUALLY was timed. Im pretty sure you can see his real track times from HS and multiple athletes at the time, including Deion, which was actually faster.
*Comparing Bo's 40 time to a track sprinter* is like comparing a calisthenics athletes 225 bench reps to those of a guy that has trained 5 months for the NFL Combine 225 bench reps. Bo was faster than Deion over 40 yards to 60 meters. Bo's high school *100m times were based on his everyday speed with no sprint specific training.* Dude was 220-225 pounds in high school & played football, baseball, track decathlon, 100 yard & 300 yard hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump and then the 100 yard dash, 55 or 60 yard dash indoors. *Imagine if Bo actually trained sprints.*
😂😂😂😂😂 Justin Gatlin ran a 3.9 in the 40ydd when he tried out for the nfl during his drug suspension from the Olympics and World sprinting. Also, I wanna say the crown hyping him up played a factor. Anyway around it though, that boy was cooking 🏃🏼💨💨

No way! That's surprising! Who is better at football then, I wonder? Can you do a video on that? Because you my friend, proved your knowledge with this one! 😅
People shouldn’t be surprised if they know kalen; he ran 6.51 in the 60 earlier this year. So his time being that far off from Coleman’s old time isn’t crazy, bc he ran 6.34 in the 60m at peak. Kalen is one of the best starters in history regardless of pro/college etc
Josh Wickenson of Baratoom Wisconsin ran a 3.97 35 yard dash which converts to a 4.04 40 yard dash when it is converted for the kind off terrain and upper deck
Whats never brought up about the 40 at the combine is in 1999, the NFL changed timing methods, Pre-1999 it was a track start the clock started on 1st sound, after 1999 the clock starts on the RUNNERS movement! This totally eliminates reaction time which has been proven to be 1/10 of a second. A great example is Barry Sanders, he ran a 4.37 in 1989, if he had ran his 40 in 2009 his 40 time would have been 4.27! And that's a FACT! So anytime you see a super fast 40 time at the combine, add a 1/10 of a second if you're going to compare them to yesterdays stars!
Armand Duplantis, the pole vault world record holder, was clocked running over 21 miles an hour on the pole vault runway, so CARRYING the pole. His speed was faster than any speed recorded on an NFL field that year (I believe it was last year). That's crazy! He also ran a 10.37 100m. Track speed is something different. I saw a documentary on Christiano Renaldo, where they looked at his abilities. A track guy was faster running straight ahead, but Renaldo was faster running a zigzag pattern around cones. That would probably be true for NFL players. They usually aren't running straight. It's fun to compare them, however.
I watched that video... He was up against the Spanish National Record holder in the 100... Ronaldo's vertical was higher than prime Vince Carter's at that point in time
I found one source and it says that he ran 4.09 for the 40 yard in that race which would be fastest time ever in that distance. It's seems believable if you ask me because in the 60m split he ran 6.29 which is the fastest in the world.
@@cmoneyno5 That was hand timed. But if it was lasered time it would definitely be sub 4 secs but not 3.7 which is still crazy fast and would be considered the fastest in the world.
Extremely impressive *BUT THIS IS NOT LEGIT* in terms of being comparable to an NFL Combine 40-yard dash for *at least 2 specific reasons* 1. *Track Spikes* are illegal at the NFL Combine. In 2019, Adidas designed a 4.8 oz speed cleat specifically for the NFL Combine. The NFL banned all athletes from wearing the shoe for the 40 yard dash due to it being *ultra-light and having speed design advantages.* 2. *NFL Combines are run indoors with 0.0 m/s wind.* Outdoors introduces an entirely different *atmospheric element* which is why NFL Pro Day performances at campus locations are excluded from being deemed NFL Combine Records due to the conditions not being the same, static conditions as the Indoor NFL Combine.
Ok so football speed is just different then soccer speed but track speed is just different from football speed. it’s impressive that football players can run that fast but they stand no chance against someone who’s whole goal is to run as fast as possible
I seriously have no idea how people can ACTUALLY believe that the fastest athletes in other sports could SERIOUSLY challenge the elite athletes in Track. Its mind boggling. There are LEVELS to the speed game, and track is at the top without question. These athletes (sprinters) have spent their entire lives with one goal, running faster. No focusing on blockers, catching, holding a ball, etc. Just raw speed. How to move the body in such a way to efficiently produce and MAINTAIN that speed. Its not even close.
This is crazy impressive but to call out Usain Bolt seems kind of odd. Wasn’t Bolt always known as being a pretty slow starter and then the second half of the race he would come motoring by everybody?
Well he runs 6.5 for 60 and essentially 10 flat for the 100m so he's much faster then Tyreek and is a great accelerator so thats exactly what we in the track community would expect him to run.
All the NFL owners with the side-👀 going, “Well son, you’ve certainly got wheels… you got HANDS, too, by chance?” 6.45 for a 60 METER dash is freaking nuts. I ran a 6.66s 60 yard* dash at my baseball tryout in college (at a Christian University, mind you 😂), and the coaches made me run it again because they didn’t believe it. I ran a 6.65 on the next one, and then a 6.71 on the last one. They let me field 3 balls in right field that I got to throw to 3rd base… made all those with the “textbook” 1-hop right on the money, and that was it. We didn’t even get to take BP or hit anything, but I got a letter in the mail 2 weeks later inviting me to come join the team. I couldn’t have been more pumped.
Hawkeye here. Sooo wish he'd return kicks fir the team. And Bo's time WAS confirmed by multiple hand timers. Beat athlete of all time who barely beat the best Hawkeye QB of all time, Chuck Long, for yhe Heisman in '85.
When you transition to turf it takes of around a tenth compared to grass, and once you transition to track surface it takes of around 2 tenths compared to grass. But this wasn’t an official distance, they just used the existing lines on the field, it could have been 2 yards short.
His knee height is incredible when in stride. That is key to maximizing stride length and pulling to top speed. Need to see him run a 100 to look for amount of deceleration in last 30 meters. Wow Football players are faster moving laterally, track athletes are faster in a straight line.
Speed is a small part in football . You can bench 800 lbs run a 4.2 40 have a 36 inch vertical jump but if you can't block or run a route or catch a ball you will not play you will be cut. Speed is great to have it doesn't translate to greatness itself. Unless you're just trying to see who's faster.
My favorite comparison between track and NFL is when DK Metcalfe ran a 100m race against real runners. He lost but ran a respectable time. The real difference was that he was 30+ pounds heavier than everyone else on the line. They are all elite athletes but the football field requires more mass in order to hit a be hit without injury where sprinting demands you perfectly optimize your body for speed alone
I've seen two discussions of this issue recently (the issue of whether NFL speed fans understand track and field speed). One of the discussions was here, and one was from Coach Rob, the youtuber. I may have missed it, but I am not sure if either discussion checked off the world-class sprinters who have also been NFL players, including Bob Hayes, Willie Gault, and Renaldo Nehemiah (ok, he was a hurdler, not a sprinter). There are a number of others who have performed at a high level either on the world stage or at least at a high level in the NCAA. I agree with pointing out that most of the fastest men in the NFL do not quite have world-class speed (even when they think they do), and I liked both of these videos for calling this out, but I suggest do a better job of acknowledging that the record-keeping in the 40 yard dash does not tell the whole story here. The NFL has had at least one sprinter in its ranks who has won an Olympic Gold medal in the 100m dash. NFL players and fans do (at least in some cases) have some awareness of what that type of speed looks like, and sometimes that speed, or something close to it, does get into the league.
1st I'll say this, Usain is THE best 100/200 meter sprinter of all time! I watched the "show" when Usain supposedly ran a 4.22. #1 Its a crazy "coincidence" that Bolt tied the fastest combine time ever & as I said I watched the event several times no way he ran a 4.22, & Usain was always a historically a slow starter!
At some point to be at the highest level in any sport you have to make choices that are detrimental to other sports. Often true sprinters who also play football lack other skills(catching in traffic, vision, cutting, durability) and football players who try to beat track athletes haven’t perfected the science of racing and carry mass in areas that make your body less efficient at just running fast in a straight line.
Most people don't comprehend the actual god-like speed of these guys. I once worked at an event for a super bowl host city where fans could run an in-door laser-timed 40... After 2 days, and thousands of people, there was a grand total of 3 people who broke 5.00 seconds!! (I can't tell you how many people THOUGHT they'd run a 4.8 because they were pretty "athletic", actually ran a 5.6, and then claimed the equipment must be broken. 🤣Nope, that's what rec league heroes run - a 5.60) The average time for NFL WRs is just under 4.60. If you are reading this, then I guarantee 100%, YOU are not only 1 or 2 steps behind them, at 4.8-4.9 seconds.
Was gonna say his start was good! He seems to almost slip on one step not long after the start. The other impressive thing with football players is size DK Metcaf is 230 pounds Sprinters are like 165-185 pounds Can this kid catch ? Tackle?

I played ball for many years and knew some 4.3 guys and that's already obscenely ridiculously fast. 4.15 is superhuman. Pretty freaking epic!
If you hand timed 4.15 3 times then what you are telling us is there is no way you think he ran a 4.15 FAT..
@@cross6588 I'm not even sure what you're saying, but yeah, didn't think it looked that fast, then timed it and it was insanely fast. And I do believe it and I'm very impressed. You need me to explain it more?
@ naw I don’t.
@@dutchfpv7010My classmate ran 4.21 my senior year of highschool
Bo ran 4.12. Without warm up and asked to have the doors open so he could keep running to track practice so he wouldn’t have to talk to any of the NFL scouts.
Su Bingtian holds the fastest time to run to 60m at 6.29s. Assuming he reached top velocity way before 40 yards (36.576m) and maintained his speed, he would make a 3.83s 40-yard dash.
Physically impossible
😂😂😂😂😂
Justin Gatlin ran a 3.9 in the 40ydd when he tried out for the nfl during his drug suspension from the Olympics and World sprinting.
Also, I wanna say the crown hyping him up played a factor. Anyway around it though, that boy was cooking 🏃🏼💨💨
He is a freak of nature!!! Amazing!!!
We’re back baby!!!! 🖐️
The tone is your voice finally showing your tired of placating to these arguments fans have but we all were noobs at one point and didnt understand 😂😂
Dude trying to compare Usain 3-4 years in his retirement kinda crazy, but yeah this time is still ridiculously impressive. Put this guy in man coverage and no-one's keeping up

This shows that track and field can gain a huge attention and be a very famous sports if shown properly
No way! That's surprising! Who is better at football then, I wonder? Can you do a video on that? Because you my friend, proved your knowledge with this one! 😅
I was there and watched this young man lay it down. Legit and fast as sh--t!!
That leg drive at the start stopped earth from spinning
Let's freaking goooo!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉
People shouldn’t be surprised if they know kalen; he ran 6.51 in the 60 earlier this year. So his time being that far off from Coleman’s old time isn’t crazy, bc he ran 6.34 in the 60m at peak. Kalen is one of the best starters in history regardless of pro/college etc
Josh Wickenson of Baratoom Wisconsin ran a 3.97 35 yard dash which converts to a 4.04 40 yard dash when it is converted for the kind off terrain and upper deck
Wrong. Guys cover 5 yards in about .45 seconds; that translates to 4.4
@@cbrend22 thanks for confirming my math
4.1? Hold my beer 🍺 😂🔥
Coleman missed three drugs tests in the past which diminishes this achievement to me.
Just assume a top athlete is on drugs and you will be right the vast majority of the time
@@wan2shuffleobviously. It’s so sad how kids actually believe they favorite athletes not on peds😭
The start was good, not slow or bad it was amazing
Ronaldo's vertical was higher than prime Vince Carter's at that point in time
Great starter but also impressive finish. Walker is legit.
Congrats to him
I really wonder what was Su's 40 yard dash in that 100 m race where he ran 9.8.
Su's time included reaction time and 40y test time starts right on the first move.
I found one source and it says that he ran 4.09 for the 40 yard in that race which would be fastest time ever in that distance. It's seems believable if you ask me because in the 60m split he ran 6.29 which is the fastest in the world.
@@akboss_rbx9295Walter Dix ran a 3.7 40
@@cmoneyno5 That was hand timed. But if it was lasered time it would definitely be sub 4 secs but not 3.7 which is still crazy fast and would be considered the fastest in the world.
Tyreek who???? WHOA NELLIE
Daaang! Dang!
Extremely impressive *BUT THIS IS NOT LEGIT* in terms of being comparable to an NFL Combine 40-yard dash for *at least 2 specific reasons*
1. *Track Spikes* are illegal at the NFL Combine. In 2019, Adidas designed a 4.8 oz speed cleat specifically for the NFL Combine. The NFL banned all athletes from wearing the shoe for the 40 yard dash due to it being *ultra-light and having speed design advantages.*
@@GreyBeard_Fit this should be upvoted to the top
Ok so football speed is just different then soccer speed but track speed is just different from football speed. it’s impressive that football players can run that fast but they stand no chance against someone who’s whole goal is to run as fast as possible
Also football players focus more on lateral and start stop agility and upper body muscle mass
Fr tho
It's like pitting an f1 car against a top fueler in a f*n DRAG RACE😂😂😂
This is crazy impressive but to call out Usain Bolt seems kind of odd. Wasn’t Bolt always known as being a pretty slow starter and then the second half of the race he would come motoring by everybody?
No don't know where there misconception came from he held one of the fastest starts and finishes lol
The crazy thing is Kalen Walker has more size then the fastest 40 yard football players!
Well he runs 6.5 for 60 and essentially 10 flat for the 100m so he's much faster then Tyreek and is a great accelerator so thats exactly what we in the track community would expect him to run.
All the NFL owners with the side-👀 going, “Well son, you’ve certainly got wheels… you got HANDS,
too, by chance?”
6.45 for a 60 METER dash is freaking nuts.
It’s just his genetics 🧬
Hawkeye here. Sooo wish he'd return kicks fir the team.
And Bo's time WAS confirmed by multiple hand timers. Beat athlete of all time who barely beat the best Hawkeye QB of all time, Chuck Long, for yhe Heisman in '85.
Impressive. Bro went from 11.41 in 19 his junior year in high school to 10.81 in 21 freshman year JC to 10.2 in 22.

People started taking there training seriously. U tend to take life more seriously as u get older
When you transition to turf it takes of around a tenth compared to grass, and once you transition to track surface it takes of around 2 tenths compared to grass. But this wasn’t an official distance, they just used the existing lines on the field, it could have been 2 yards short.
Bro needs to race Tyreek and Quincy Wilson new gen Lemaitre
Yayyy we got another super star sprinter representing for whytey! 😊😊
His knee height is incredible when in stride. That is key to maximizing stride length and pulling to top speed. Need to see him run a 100 to look for amount of deceleration in last 30 meters. Wow
Football players are faster moving laterally, track athletes are faster in a straight line.
Thanks
The rocket man!!!
Dude's FAST
Lets go hawks!
We need this kid to face off against Coleman in a 40 to see who's the fastest
Christian Coleman is the fastest starter of all time!
Su Bingtang from China is like this. Dropped Usain Bolt to the 50M line a couple olympics ago
"Su Bingtian ran a 40-yard dash in around 4.07 seconds while setting the Asian 100m dash record of 9.83 seconds. " - Google search
Did you minus reaction time ?
“in around…”. Lolol
But seriously - The 40-yd distance is dumb and doesn’t mean anything.
Im not surprised that someone who practices running is faster than someone who practices football
Go Hawkeyes!!
If track had as much money to offer as the NFL, make no mistake these NFL wonder athletes would dominate track!
Add another decimal and you got my current 40 yard time . I'm just lucky to run at all now. Would pay to be able to again. 😢
I’ll mention Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson before modern timing equipment. They both ran sub 4.2’s
Imagine if he could develop Armin Hary's reaction time in addition to his innately fast start.
Tyreek did run track my guy
We’ve covered his running before - both in HS and the NCAA. He was a very fast and talented runner no doubt. He deserves respect for his speed.
Damn Henry Ruggs III was a fast ass 6 year old running a 4.27.....wonder what his adult speed would have been
It is the spikes. Traction to put all that power down.
That’s damn fast. Back in the day I ran a 4.4 almost high 4.3. In just an average white dude I thought that was pretty quick.
Iowa has had three pretty big standouts
A DB
A WCBB
And a 60m/100m athlete
Was he tested for steroids? If not then, I don't believe it's naturally done
Let's all just acknowledge that he ran that coming off of a hamstring injury so imagine if he was fully healthy
🤣Nope, that's what rec league heroes run - a 5.60)
The average time for NFL WRs is just under 4.60. If you are reading this, then I guarantee 100%, YOU are not only 1 or 2 steps behind them, at 4.8-4.9 seconds.
Was gonna say his start was good!
He seems to almost slip on one step not long after the start.
The other impressive thing with football players is size
DK Metcaf is 230 pounds
Sprinters are like 165-185 pounds
Can this kid catch ? Tackle?
AND, Bo Jackson was carrying an extra 50 lbs… of muscle! Sprinters can smoke football players, that’s why football recruits sprinters.
I WAS THERE LIVE ON THE BACK SIDELINE!
He could probably break the 4 second barrier if he "smoothed out" his running form.
