hey karl! really enjoying AC and PC2 in my NLR GT-Lite. I have a small place so i've been practicing folding, and i have 4 tips: 1. when you bring up the pedals to the seat, slide them down so that they go below the seat base when folded up; that will let the seat fold flatter for a lower profile, with the seat bucket completely flat against the seat back 2. when you bring up the pedals, undo the wheel bar of course, but also remove the 'foot' of the pedal base; it will clear the wheel bar without needing to loosen any hubs, and then snap it on. also when you snap the foot bar back on the pedal base, it needs to be in the 'flat position'. You start with your pedals this way, but i didn't, so i had to change it. 3. after you pedals are passed the wheel bar, and the wheel bar is back in position, put the entire thing on it's back, and loosing the hubs in the position will pretty much let the seat collapse on it's own. hold the wheel bar and unscrew the hubs a bit, first tho 4. if you put your loose cables and power cord on the seat of the chair when you start step 1, the seat bucket being flat against the back will act as a handy container for them cheers from canada my dude :)
Playseat Challenge takes exactly 60 seconds to fold up, takes up less spaces when folded and is just as sturdy as the gt light and fgt . I purchased both and returned both. I've had my playseat for about a year and love it. A foldaway is essential for me. Plus, the list of mods for the playseat is pretty long. I have the wheel base plate stabilizer for my csl dd and it eliminates virtually all deck flex. The list goes on. Love my challenge.
You may not see this but I appreciate you showing me how to do this. Living in a small townhome I didn't have a lot of room. Was able to get the side strap and the stabilizer strap together and made them nice and compact. Thanks so much!
Hey, I enjoy watching all your videos. I am 51 years old and because of this video, you just made my buy the GT Lite along with a t300 wheel. Thanks for making me spend so much money LOL. I can not wait to start playing my driving sims with a wheel and cockpit instead of an xbox controller and office chair.
I think this video convinced me to get the chair. We’ve got such a small house I NEED something that folds up, as much as I’d like to keep something up permanently. Thanks for this part 2!
Your the man. This is exactly what I needed as no one had a great video like yours showing the proper way to fold it away for increase space saving. The wife wont complain now.
You sir have earned a very easy like & sub!! After watching the Next Level vid on YT I was baffled as to how they folded it so poorly compared to the advertising material. Found your original review video last after receiving my seat, was worried I was going to have nowhere to store it. Thank you so much for this follow up video, really helpful & as others have said, you have a really great, natural & honest approach to your content. Keep up the good work 👍🏽👏🏽
Legend! I knew there had to be a way. How counterintuitive thought. At the same time, now that it is folded I can see that the Playseat challenge just needs to be wider, have a pedal platform fixing plate, optional shifter, and mesh back for heavy sweat pigs like me. EDIT: I would say it would be even better for folding if the pedal platform would be inverted
Great video! I, like you was wondering why the pictures showed it folding up more compact and most instructional videos did it a different way. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing this Karl, my son got this seat last year, we are shuffling his room about to make space for a new desk and the plan was to fold his chair away and put it away in his cupboard, following their video it was to bulky to fit in but what you have shown does the trick 👍
Your video helped me get it like the picture, especially the part about swinging the wheel plate arm open, then folding the pedals up. That’s the key. I will say, it is cumbersome and awkward folding it and deploying it with all your equipment attached. The weight of it makes it unwieldy. It’s not something your going to want to take down and set up every time you play. Basically only do this when you know you’re not going to use it for a while.
Got mine yesterday an didn't wanna fold it up late at night but did it this morning and it was easy. Tucked right into my closet! Thanks for this video. Funny how the box and instructions don't match
Got one of these yesterday and just folded it this way. Like you say it will get easier with practice, however, I'm not convinced there's much difference between the other fold and this method in terms of space taken and this method leaves the wheel protruding rather than tucked away inside the seat. I'm yet to decide on my preferred method of folding but nice to have options.
Its funny how, me as a viewer, i kind of trying to solve the puzzle with you. HAHAH! This is a 2 years old video but hey, i came across your vid now 2 years later! Well done mate!
The guys at Next Level Racing should send you a diploma or something, that is actually better folded than in the picture even. Your videos are super quality stuff, btw. Very informative and you explain your views and thoughts in an excellent manner. Keep it up!
Hey Karl, so I got my GT Lite and T300 Wheel yesterday. Boy, that thing is not the easiest thing to fold, even after watching your video. I have done it twice now, although the second time I popped off the pedals in the process. The other problem I had was installing the back floor brace. It seems like they made it 1" - 1.5" too long. I had to use brute force bending it into the holes and then use a mallet to pound it into place. In the process, one side popped out of the hole and right into my chest, leaving me a bit of a bruise. Luckily, assembling that piece is a one time deal. Glad I watched your videos and I am very pleased with my purchase. So far I have tried it on Assetto Corsa and Dirt 4. I have a bunch of other games to eventually try it on. Take care bro (or as you will say over there, take care mate.)
what size bolts are required for bolting down the pedals/the gear stick/and the steering wheel as worked out theres 2 required for the wheel ,but are they countersunk or alen heads or what?...thanks for an in depth review.just bought 1 on the strength of watching this video
I am also very worried about the folding problem. I finally got a better idea after watching your video. I am currently waiting for the arrival of my GT lite & G923.
I tried this and i tried the way NLR does it, and i would say that this is more of a "pack it up, put it away" mode of folding, where NLRs is more of a "fold it up slide it in the corner" mode of folding. I had a hell of time doing this lol, carpet here is an absolute GOD send i'm sure cuz on hardwood, the moment you undo the hubs, it just collapses. oof. im so sweaty rn.
Great video and review on the last video. I stumbled upon your videos while researching these types of chairs. Your honest opinions helped me with my decision in purchasing this chair. Keep doing what you do. I'm leaving a like and while hit that subscribe button.
Thanks for the video Karl, it's refreshing to find friendly and down to earth content. I initially found your channel curious about an upgrade from a CV1 to a Rift S, which ended up becoming a Quest 2 at your recommendation, and after convincing me on that I'm already looking at getting a GT-lite soon after. I appreciate all the helpful information you're putting out there, I'm not sure if my wallet would thank you though 😂😭
Thanks for the video. Just got this for saving space, will need to see if the extra space is worth having to setup the pedals and steering wheel each time.
I think there might be a little ghost in your room , that piece of paper should not have fallen without some help , maybe your heater or air con blew it off , but for that one piece of paper to move seemed a little creepy. All in all good video. Still waiting for that new sim cockpit you advertised the other day , that’s got me really intrigued. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️
This is why I went for the playseat challenge, thanks to your review a few years back. its flat compact and no dicking about with various bits and pieces. anyway enough of seats, hows the G2 Karl? lol
I can't speak for the quality, but playseat challenge just seems to be a better buy. I'm terrible at these things, but I could pack the challenger together in mere seconds the first time.
Great review mate. Exactly sort of stuff people want to see when looking to purchase this type of gear. I've recently purchased the GTOmega classic - thanks to one of your other reviews 👍and thought to watch this review here to see if I made the right decision. I believe I have 😁 thanks mate....Not to say this next level seat isnt good, just not practical for me personally
