I'm so impressed by this thing in person. It's able to handle the dd+ at 10 to 12nm. The pedal tray is solid and the seat barely moves with pressure. Im shook. It forsnt mske sense how this thing is so sturdy. Even compared to other more solid looking rigs at this price that aren't even foldable chairs lol. Just shows design truely does matter!!

Any sort of rig is better than none Dave.
It is impressive that it can handle a DD and LC pedals and I'm sure that if someone is short on space this would be an ideal solution.

@@squigzjc957that's basically what I did (primarily of 140mm x 38mm timber). Built it during lockdown when supply chain meant I could not get a profile rig anywhere. Mine is sanded smooth with all screw holes filled, painted black and lacquered and looks like it is made from metal when first observed. It's not compact or foldable though but a great alternative to a profile rig for those that have space and some DIY skills.

I have a Next Level F-GT Lite and it's great. It takes ~5mins to move my office chair out of the room and setup the sim rig, with a Fanatec CSL DD and McLaren GT3 wheel. I just fold the pedals up when finished.
The chair on this one looks more comfortable so might upgrade.

I have exactly the same setup and I´m very happy with it! The only issue I´m having is, that you cant apply too much brake force. Otherwise the connector between the chair and the tubes for the pedals will lift up. Do you have the same problem?

Its taken a bit to comment because i've been to busing racing , but i ordered a GT Lite Pro after watching the video and it arrived on friday 7/21. My racing experience has most certainly gone to the Next Level, first weekend my road irating went up 94 points and my oval rating has gone up 57, thats huge for this old racing fan. The seat is so comfortable i sit in it even when im not racing and playing on the pc, I really enjoy your videos Dave, have great day. P.S. Huge Thanks to Next Level Racing.

I tested this not long ago at the weekend of the Canadian GP and it felt good. I could focus on my lousy racing lines instead of worrying about the seat... I wanted to check some reviews before taking a decision and your opinion is very valuable! thanks!

Excellent review dave, i was expecting it to flex from the wheelbase, start to rotate from the brake pedal and the deck chair to dig into your leg every time you braked. Suprised me how sturdy it was.

My first rig was a NLR F-GT Lite which is very similar. It was fine but I'll add that while you CAN fold it up, it isn't super quick or hassle free. It wasn't something that I ever wanted to do at the beginning and end of every racing session. Over time I just left it out and only ever put it away when I needed to. It was a solid first rig, I liked how it included the shifter plate (which the Playseat challenge doesn't), and it was way more sturdy than it had any right to be. Also... upgrades? Heck yeah, attach 'em with zip ties. 😜 That's what I did!

Hi Dave. Thanks for this video, came at the right time 👍. I’m just about to downsize to a 2 bed flat, and this seems the perfect solution to my (wannabe) start in the sim racing scene. Only thing I would ask is how small it actually folds up to. I’m going to be looking at the Moza R5 bundle. Would you be able to show how small it does fold up to please 🙏. Would really help an old fella out 🤣

Thanks for that review and your point of view. This somehow gave me another push into the direction of the GTLite Pro, caused by simple lack of space! Loved to see this, especially that you said, it feels solid even with a load cell. Upgrade from Desk to "Rig" and G923 Pedals to a Load Cell is the next that will happen!
btw.: I already thought, that you are an absolute kind person. The way your dogs are behaving next to you, and how you treat them in exchange really reinforces this thought. Loved to see that! :)

I’ve had a NLR GT Lite for ~2 years. I started with one 32” curved screen and G29 pedals wheel and shifter. It has evolved to three 32” screens on a NLR freestanding rig with Moza R5 wheel and pedals with the brake upgrade kit. I’m a casual IRacer. 46 days a week in winter 1-3 days when I can in the summer. The cheesy Velcro strap on the left of course wears out so it has been replace with a leather belt. Other than it works just fine. I am surprised the seat has not developed a sag in the material.
With the R5 wheel it transfers enough feedback I wear gloves and don’t notice flex in the rig. I have only folded it up twice. It is a bit of a pain to get back where I like it and the triple monitor stand takes up more room.
It’s not perfect but it’s not $1000 in rig and seat. IMHO a good way to budget into sim racing and then build up as you like.

I finally built up a rig last week to get into the fun, after watching you race for 4+ years... Very value oriented, and this was one of the things that I considered getting. My space is very limited (NYC apartment). I decided to get the GT Omega Apex wheelstand, and am just using a standard wooden chair at the moment while I try to decide what I want to do for seating. I dont have space for a fixed seat/cockpit, but dont necessarily want to pack away the whole rig. Thats why I decided on the wheelstand, and monitor I have on the desk behind it with the PC behind that, I can just move the chair out of the way and have the space I need when not using the sim.
CSL DD / P1 wheel base/rim combo (no boost kit)
CSR Elite LC pedals (from my 2010 Fanatec setup)
    35" SW 1440p 165hz curved monitor
    5600G/RTX 3070
I have just about $1500 into the setup now, and graduated Rookies in 3 days thanks to rewatching many of your beginner videos(only started from pit lane once though). Im still a little off the pace, but my focus is more about getting the feel right and consistency now than looking to set the fastest laps that I can.
Your videos as always, have been inspiration, and a collection of very valuable information. I wish that I had listened to you sooner and got into it earlier, as you really dont need to have top level equipment to use the sim. I had a GTX 980 in the system before, and I actually had very good performance on low-mediium settings without really sacrificing too much in the visual department.
I just sent my brother this video, as he does some VR flight sims, but also wants to do some VR racing so this should be a great option for him as he doesnt need to have monitor/TV concerns.
Thanks again for a great overview of the product!

Thanks mate, a couple of these reviews you’ve done have really helped me. Im ordering the cammus in a week or so, I’m looking at building a rig out of marine ply and a car seat from the auto-wrecker - but this might be a decent option for me.
It’s just pedals now - I’ve watched a few Boosted vids and the fanatec look like the ones I’ll get, but time will tell. I may end up just getting the cammus potentiometer set and upgrade the pedals a bit later.
Give the dogs a scratch and stop making out Jules yells at you lol.
    Cheers

I just got an F-GT Lite and am thinking I could add a strap to further shore up the rigidness of it based on this. I would have got this if I would have waited a bit longer for the seat quality. The F-GT Lite is a comfortable chair, well beyond the desk clamped half rigged garbage I was working with before, but this looks a bit more comfortable.

I've got the GT Lite and added a strap between the wheel deck cross beam and the one behind the pedal deck. Itmassively improved the rigidity of the rig. well worth a trip to B&Q for some webbing strapping.

The only thing I absolutely hate about folding chairs like this is the metal tube that runs across beneath your legs. I had a GT lite cockpit and it served me well for about 2 years but I could never play longer than an hour or two without my legs falling asleep. Even if you add cushioning I found that after a while it wears down and you’ll eventually get down to the metal again. While this may be a huge space saver, you also have to consider how long your gonna be playing for. If you plan on playing like 6 hours plus a day, a folding chair might not be the most comfortable thing ever. I also found myself using my setup less when I would fold it away cause while it took like 5-10 minutes to setup it’s was still kind of a hassle. When you have all your stuff hooked up it’s gonna be worse cause your gonna have wires getting in the way, the base and pedals will have to be either removed or left on making it harder to store. I just found it to be more of a hassle than getting something that’s solid and just there in like a corner. Tho I can understand if your really tight on space this might be a good idea, just be prepared for all the draw backs from it.

Love your videos. Always well said. I am getting ready to get into the hobby and have a question. I will be starting of with one of the major consoles, not sure which one first. Then I would like to have a set up both XBox, PS5 and then a PC. Other than Fanatec is there a wheel and pedal option that I can use on all three? Thank you again for the great videos and give the pooches a scratch under the chin from me.

How much smaller is the footprint when folded?
I've an X-Rocker Circuit folding chair (more basic Playseat Challenge) and for me the benefit is it folds like a deck chair so once folded it's footprint is small.
From what I can see the Next Level folding chairs fold more into a cube taking more footprint. Ideal if you can slide it under something, but if not it may still take up a fair amount of space.

@Dave Cam I know this might be hard to explain through text, but I’ve watched Next Level’s instruction assembly video alongside with another UA-camr’s video and I’m a bit lost. I’m trying to get the rear tubing on and if I’m understanding the instruction manual correctly it’s as if I should be able to adjust that lower area outwards to slide the tubing in. It’s like my rear tubing is too long one side gets in and the other is way off. Do I adjust left side cam follower, is there something I’m not doing after I you pull out those two small screws and bolts to slide in the tubing.
If you’re able to help that would be much appreciated.
