What a great channel very articulate. Don’t waste time with unneeded info. Really picks out info that you need. Professionally done. Really great reviews. Much appreciated
I've got this cockpit. After a couple of times doing it it's really easy to fold it away. 1. open wheel deck 2. lift pedal deck and place close to seat. 3. re-secure wheel deck, locking pedal deck in place. 4. loosen the sides and let everything fold forwards. 5. put it on it's back. 6. move the wheel deck as far back as possible. 7. secure with the strap that secures the bottom of the cockpit when in use. Once you get it, it takes about 30 seconds to fold away and another 30 seconds set up. Another way, if you don't need it completely flat; 1. open the wheel deck. 2. fold up the pedal deck to the chair. 3 re-secure the wheel deck, locking pedal deck in place. 4. loosen clips at the back of the chair and push back rest forward. That takes about 10 seconds. The total footprint of that is about 70 CMs deep. Not too bad and you don't have to piss about with loosening the side clamps and getting everything lined up perfectly.

I have the F-GT Lite and while I love my F1 sims and open wheel racing, I dont really find myself ever if at all putting it into the Formula position. Its nice to know I can put it into a Formula position but its not really needed. My opinion just go with the GT-Lite. It cost less, folds up quicker and easier and takes up way less space both opened up and folded away and you can still add a H-pattern shifter if and when you want.
Nice review, wish I'd seen it earlier as I bought the kids a X Rocker circuit that has broken after several uses since Christmas day. Well after a short little google, I can see what the GT Lite has that the Playseat Challenge doesn't. A shifter mount. And that's all I need to know. GT lite it is.
Waiting on my GT Lite with high anticipation, almost got the Playseat but no shift plate was a complete deal breaker. Don't mind the folding as I have my own apartment and don't need to fold it all the way, so space isn't an extreme issue as I can put it wherever I want but a dedicated rig still isn't an option (yet). Enough space for me to put it beside my desk but not enough to where I can just leave it out in my bedroom unless I decide to move my PC into my living room at some point. It'll be nice to not swivel in my chair playing DR 2.0/WRC 10 when I go for a hairpin/hard brake, or my keyboard tray sliding in and out lmao
When you fold it, if you tilt down the wheel platform and open it before lifting the pedals? Then once the pedals are up, could the wheel clamp close? It seems like they could have thought of it
I'm going to try, that would actually look a little more like the picture on the front of the manual if it works, but it's not what they show in their video! lol
Well I figured I would post this here since no one has a fix for the seat/ pedal lifting that happens under hard braking. The way I solved this was by cutting sheet of plywood the width and length of the rig when It's set to my liking. Drilled holes after marking the spots on plywood. Then bolted it down with "T-nuts", screws with washers (or bolts if you prefer) and metal conduit "U" clamps to hold down the front leg bar and the rear pedal bar to keep it nice and steady. Hope this helps!

I have a desk that is 76cm high and was wondering how far off the ground the seat is. Would it be too low for my desk? Also what is the maximum height you can have it adjusted to

Great review. I think i'll stick to the playseat challenge looking at your folding attempt. If u got any good ways to eliminate 'lift off' on the Challenge, would be amazing to hear. I'm playing with seat rake and pedal angle, and trying to anchor the pedal board with a line but its clunky at best. I'm really struggling with the TrueBrake on the Challenge but want to make it work. Keep up the good work!
Aside from fitting braces to either side there' no real way, it needs to be that way to fold away of course. The Truebrake mod is not really suited to this type of cockpit as you can tell.
@@KarlGosling Thank you for the quick answer (you got a new subscriber ! :) ). So if I understand, this playseat will not be able to handle a 15Nm forcefeedback as it will move too much. And Last question, I'm 1m90 for 115kgs, solid enough ?
I bought one of those to test out and sent it back. It was a royal pain in the ass if I'm honest lol. I decided not to make a video because I was afraid i would sound like I was bashing it. For me I'd rather pay slightly more for something like an ART any day of the week!
Nothing wrong with bashing things if you have a good reason to mate! :) What was it you didn't like? Aside from the questionable folding away method it's decent enough. Obviously an ART (whilst much better) doesn't fold away so is for a different market.

I would not recommend a DD1 on a foldable cockpit, the CSL DD would be a far better choice mate.
@@KarlGosling Thank you for the quick answer (you got a new subscriber ! :) ).
So if I understand, this playseat will not be able to handle a 15Nm forcefeedback as it will move too much.
And Last question, I'm 1m90 for 115kgs, solid enough ?
can the shifter mount be on the right side?
Afaik (but please doublecheck before buying) you can attach the tray on both sides and the empty clamp you see at 8:50 is for that.
Thanks so much just order mine :) very nice review
Have fun!
Awesome review thanks. Is it possible to fit a shifter and handbrake on this. I’m asking because I need both for drifting
can you put the shifter on the right?
Which is the better seat? F GT or GT?
Good video! Lol when it smashed you in the head. The look you gave, like you wanted to break it in half😂
I wasn't happy! lol
This is the STRAP ON comment you been looking for :)
like your video and your style of describing chair. Is it worth to spend extra on FGT rather than GT lite?
I bought one of those to test out and sent it back. It was a royal pain in the ass if I'm honest lol. I decided not to make a video because I was afraid i would sound like I was bashing it. For me I'd rather pay slightly more for something like an ART any day of the week!
Nothing wrong with bashing things if you have a good reason to mate! :) What was it you didn't like? Aside from the questionable folding away method it's decent enough.
Obviously an ART (whilst much better) doesn't fold away so is for a different market.
Spinował, zanim do niego dojechałeś, więc zwiększył kat, wytracił prędkość i się spotkaliście. Oglądałem powtórki wielokrotnie...najlepiej widać to chyba Atego ujęcia z drona.
Pozdrawiam ;)
Can you swing the steering wheel out fold chair then swing it back over the top 👍
That’s what I was thinking
I'll try! :)
Did we get an answer to this? I'm fat and this would help me out 🤣
I'm torn between this and the playseat. This is more readily available to me but the folding situation really puts me off as it has to sit tidily where my gt omega (copy) wheelstand does currently in the corner of the living room.
Once you set it up you will never fold it dude no point
Great review. Do you know what the total length of the seat is? Idk if it fits my room so please someone who knows?
How do like this compared to the play seat challenge? Same opinion as the f gt?
Pretty much, just no F position! lol
