I was raised there! Back in the day you were able to drive your vehicle down to the end of drum point. Drum Point is a very popular place to fish when the black drum are spawning. You can also catch some bull reds and some big speckled trout.
I appreciate this series on Baffin Bay and the TX Coast. I'm stationed in Kansas and looking to retire on the TX coast in two years. I bought a roof top tent In Feb so I could do some trips like this and then Covid happened.
A little tip for when you choose a low quality fish off a menu- never get it grilled! Always order it fried you’ll be much happier. Save the grilled option for when you select a high quality cut of fish.

Great video. Very helpful. I'm about to leave for a 2 week kayak adventure starting at Sabine Pass then to Rockport, Aransas Pass, Baffin Bay ending in Port Isabel.
Drum point one of my all time favorite places to fish when growning up.
DRUM POINT! A lot of reds run through there. I know of a few other kayak launch spots where you can catch some big momma trout if your interested!

I personally love that you are changing things up. I don't think you should really look at like a "travel series" because I think that is focusing on something that you'll be chasing as with any other themed video series.Just keep stumbling around do what you do in your home waters then when you get that feeling go and do what your gut tells you and that's where the magic is, like the snook video took me by total surprise. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, Nick thank you for all of your efforts especially in these times it really takes me away!

The cracker sauce is tarter sauce. You put it on the Shrimp and fish :) The fried drum is better also, the grilled drum can be bland depending on the cook :D The Baffin Bay Seafood Company is also good. 1lb of frog legs $9.99 Monday special!

Dang I miss the grullo. Fishing, duck hunting the whole nine yards. Used to drive past where that pipe fence is too the end and launch. The commercial drum guys mainly hit Alazan and further out where trot lines dont get tangled on rocks and hit sandy bottom areas.

Definitely a fan of Texas traveling for new areas to fish! If you ever come further south should try out Indianola and fish powderhorn lake.
