Baffin is world famous for texas sows..when several times when i was younger.i saw some insane stringers...EVERYTIME i went the wind went 20 to 25 30 mph.But man its incredibly beautiful and looks like fish would be everywhere..Get a map and do your homework. Its freakin remote and u have to be on your a game.. got stranded in the badlands with a bad lower unit on a borrowed boat..i had thrown an old cb in the boat i hadnt used in 10 years, just in case.when we got stranded a rig up power and use a landing net for an antenna.Took 5 hours but game wardens rescued up.Thank you Texas wardens, you guys rock.
Great video! Would you give details on getting to the launch spot you used? If that’s a no no forgive me for asking. Thanks either way and keep those videos coming.
Just now seeing this one. Good work finding fish on your first try there! Y’all fished my back yard. There’s lots of good spots right near where you launched to wade there as well.
13:18 I thought it was going to be to show everyone who thinks you can't do anything without MDLR that you can haha. But I do think this reason is even better! Good video Nick!
Kingsville, TX my hometown! We have a family private pier in Riviera that I've pulled some of the largest black drum of my life. Our ol' Baffin Bay is truly a hidden treasure.
Noticed you said hometown. Looking to do some kayak fishing myself in Baffin Bay soon. Just curious, have there been any alligators spotted in or around Baffin?
I grew up fishing that area...great video...I actually saw you at the gas station and was gonna holler at you..but I was driving by..glad you enjoyed my water hole
Great video sir. I read that area is fenced off is that true? I have not fished that area in years and want to kayak it again. Did you have any issues launching your yak specifically getting ur truck to the beach area? Thanks I appreciate it .
HAVE YOU EVER FISHED GRASS ISLAND NEAR PORT O'CONNER ? IT USED TO BE A GREAT FISHERY !I WAS USING "TROUT LURES" BACK IN THE 70'S .(PINK SOFT PLASTIC SPLIT TAIL ON A CHARTREUSE JIG HEAD.)I WAS NEARLY LAUGHED OUT OF THE BOAT UNTIL I STARTED SLAMMING THE SPECKLED TROUT ON THOSE JIGS. MOM ,DAD ASKED IF I HAD ANYMORE ...THAT WAS A GAS ! YOU WATCH FOR THE FLOCKS BIRDS TO START "HITTING THE WATER" GO AND FISH UNDER AND AROUND THEM .YOU CAN CATCH ANYTHING (JUST ABOUT). AWESOME VIDEO I DON'T THINK YOU CAN TAKE A KAYAK OUT THERE AS IT MAY BE A FAR TRIP. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES HAVE A SAFE TRIP HOME.
Great video Nick. Love the Baffin Bay area. It's cool that your venturing out to different areas to fish and you were rewarded with some nice trout. Take care brother.
Man brother, I am loving your travel/fishing videos!! "This is Nick coming to you today on Texas Fishing Traveler".. ha ha. Not only am I enjoying your travel/fishing videos, but you're always making me super hungry. Again, thanks Nick. Stay safe & Keep 'em coming!!
Great video, Doc! I suspect that many of your viewers are unaware of the herculean efforts you expend to prep, execute, video, and produce your wares. Being a [pre-GOPRO] kayaker I can really appreciate your devotion to the sport and your selfless effort to share with others. Much obliged, little Brother! 🤠
Living the life! Yummy lunch, picking up some rib eye sliced thin this weekend....maybe some pork belly too....but prefer flour tortillas., can get flavors at HEB Central market , butter, Southwest, etc.....great video Part 1
Great video Nick! You were actually fishing in my backyard. I lived a mile to the east of where you were fishing. I would go there everyday after work for a couple of hours to fish.
Awesome video.. that is close to my hometown I grew up fishing there.. I caught my PB trout 28 inch where you were fishing.. baffin bay is known for monster trout and also big bull reds.
He launched first at probably the safest spot (55). All along the shore line on the other side of it is rocks, you just gotta find the ones they’re on. Used too be great when drum point was open all the way 15 years ago. Fishing at night just hit the pier at riveria beach or Kaufer-Hubert
Love your videos! Glad to see you down here in my home waters....... I went to high school in Houston that's what turned me on to your channel, But there's a lot of fish to catch down South bro!
You put in and went the wrong direction you should have put in on the other side of the sand bar and cruised East I have caught both trout and Red PBR 27 inch trout and 28 inch red bait at the same exact spot different time of year. I have also witnessed a 30+ inch trout caught in the same area. I have seen people pull 48” reds there also
Great video again, that is a really good place to fish. Further into bay system 4 in my boat filled 72 qt cooler in 2 hours. Smallest fish a 24 spec, many reds. Next February I will be going, boat can take kayaks. Maybe you are interested. Many trips planned next year, I taking my kayak on some. Thanks for the entertainment.
Surf wading is the best.i quit yaking in the surf.espescially in clear water.Outside the 2nd or 3rd bar the BIG men in gray suits will target kayak fisherman..they ll sit and watch from underneath for u to hookup.Never use a stringer out there theyll flip your boat ripping that stringer..if you been at it a while i know u use a fish bag....kayak on brother!!! im 63 and still yaking.
When u get your lithium ion batteries, u can launch from port Mansfield mainland via Raymondville tx n head to pot Mansfield jetty... Crazy action...bring some heavy gear.
Another one!! LOL Really loving this series of adventures!! Please keep them coming! Also can't wait for the Autopilot and see if you feel it really is superior. Thank you Nick!!! Also please don't even acknowledge the trolls talking about your fishing buddy!! Keep doing your thing.
go to Rio Grande Valley Arroyo City Tomahe Park.. you have to pay to get into the park you can camp they're like 4 Piers that are lit all night with trout Under The Lights ..Google it
like I said try the Arroyo Colorado at Arroyo City in the Rio Grande Valley.. 1000 places to fish around .the piers Sometimes they're snook and mangrove snappers ! Check out the videos on UA-cam

Super video! Thank you for sharing!
Another great video Nick. Love it ❤
Watched several of your videos. Amazing that you are on the water when the wind isn't blowing. Grew up in South Texas and it is always windy!
That area you're at is one of my favorite fishing spots. Nice video.
It's a 👍 from México!! ✌️

Site 55 and drumpoint are my go to Baffin spots
Shame they fenced drum off, but I understand why the owners did. When refrigerators and trucks are being dumped enough is enough.
Nice video men
I like the way you do your videos. Nice job!
Great video! Would you give details on getting to the launch spot you used? If that’s a no no forgive me for asking.

Super pumped for how good your channel is becoming. Fantastic progress.
Great video sir. I read that area is fenced off is that true? I have not fished that area in years and want to kayak it again. Did you have any issues launching your yak specifically getting ur truck to the beach area? Thanks I appreciate it .

I’m from the surrounding area and fish Baffin Bay and the trout get a lot BIGGER than that.
where's part 2 lol!
Cut yourself off at 24" and don't feel so bad about eating a few 20"rs. Good vid.
Right on ..24 inch 4 lb trout is big enough.any trout over 24 goes back..if i have a limit it goes down to 3 lbs...
