Someone needs to tell turn10 no one has time to come back every week to unlock cars. We already have horizon 5 doing that. This game is amazing on wheel but nothing on controller. Stopped playing after launch.
my main disappointment with the newest forza games singleplayer was quite a let down compared to FM7. FM7 had tons to do and had lots of endurance races to do.. so I was hoping fm8 would have been fm7 but improved. i would like to see intermediate tires as a option for wet racing
fun fact: a model of the FordGT that appeared in the fm23 showcase was very detailed, but in the game, they used the same model as fm6, so whoever modeled that car had their work thrown in the trash...
I like single player because it helps discover new cars for open class races. I’m not a car guy generally so each cup having a theme really helps me see what different cars are like.
As a casual driver online racing is not an option for me. I really like the single player in FM. Many different series in career mode, earn money, buy cars, hunt your own track records or setup your own races.
I can understand that. With some creativity you can create your own challenges in single player for sure. I just wish there was more variety and purpose from the game's side.
Me and my friend switched from GT7 to this because we just wanted a consistent way to join up and race people online in the same race. Something you cant really do in GT, you have to hope you end up in the same daily race if you sign up to it and the private lobbies are just dead 1 or 2 people in most of them and nobody joins a race that we set up so we just have to wait for ages, TLDR forza multiplayer good GT7 multiplayer bad
@@mark.082I think eventually Sony will have to yield and release GT7 on PC, just like they yielded with their other games....The sim racing community on PC is simply too big to ignore, as well as the PC market as a whole. PC is the future of gaming, Xbox already saw it coming a mile away and they knew it was going to be an uphill battle with Sony if they stayed on consoles only, so they positioned themselves very early on to catch a big piece of that PC pie. Sony is still high on the PS2 success, and is very slow to wake up to reality!
@@TooToo246been a pc gamer my whole life but I bought consoles 2 years ago first with switch and then ps5 this year, pc is not the only future, consoles are amazing pick up and play machines and I am sick and tired of all the optimisation problems and other bs on PC. I think combination of pc and consoles is the way to go, and Xbox switches cuz they are just incompetent at developing compelling products, their big exclusives like halo are performing horribly and the studios they bought like Bethesda are trash now. They just know Xbox is dying and jumped ship.

Single player is soulless. Lexus LFA is a dream car. I just cannot bring myself to complete the championship - 900 hours in game so far. I was here pre-release, and had the career save bug - may have ptsd bias.
Oh yeah, the career save bug... that took such a long time to finally be fixed. I can understand that you may not want to go back to single player after that (and the fact that it is quite soulless). 🙈
I keep reinstalling it, playing a bit, then playing GT7 and realizing how much of a trash bin fire FM23 is, and deleting it again. Every time I reinstall, it's the same gripes. It's a game ported from 2015... menus are bad, customizations are a joke, sounds are bad, interiors are junk... a gaudy wheel menu, and bugged lighting. It's just a mess. I play on Ultra on PC and at its best it looks like GT7 at its worst.
I'm really curious how Sunset Peninsula is gonna be like, as it's a new track for me. Fujimi Kaido has to come at some point, with how many people want to see that return.
I think we'll eventually get the "Hakone Mountain Circuit", that has been found in the game files. That'll probably be the replacement for Fujimi Kaido and contain the same type of togue roads. If you look closely at Hakone GP circuit you can see two connecting roads that exit the track and continue up into the mountains. Fingers crossed that this isn't just a rumour 😊
@HDeeRacing it was a fun multiplayer track as it was relatively wide and fast. It's certainly a suprise addition as it wasn't really a fan favorite, it was just there because forza didn't have daytona yet. I think they needed to make something quick and cheap and this is what they chose.
@@im2fast4u711 I feel we might be at a point where some of the Forza fantasy tracks become more desirable. Daytona can be raced in many games but Sunset Peninsula only in Forza. The long infield version is very distinct. Turn 10 really knew how to create fantasy tracks back in their prime and I welcome them all just as much as the usual real world suspects.
Couldnt agree more about the AI bit. Alot of the times if im side by side with an AI oponent. They'll just blindly follow the race line and punt me off the track like as if i was there. Doesnt help when they're like tanks
The new one is garbage without any backwards compatibility whatsoever. With Windows and their modern mess of an operating system, I just went back to casually playing FM7. FM7 and FM 8 are very, very similar in cars and tracks. Perhaps one has advantages over the other but they are similar enough in most regards. What grinds my gears is how I paid full price yet again for a full size game that still wont work on my aging hardware even after a year of official support. Not everyone has the latest and greatest pc components required to push these games. Its foolish to require cutting edge modern tech just so a game becomes barely playable imho. Theres no love in this series, its all corporate polish.
Newer games needing better hardware is normal though, technology evolves. For me the improved handling alone makes the new FM better than FM7, but not everyone will see it that way.
Excellent video HD. Pretty much sums up how I feel about FM. The next 12 months should be interesting with the Forza insiders program. All in all, things are looking good for the future on FM
My playtime on this game has been ramping up. Mostly playing single player but occasionally multiplayer - the penalty system has surprisingly made races more enjoyable as you don’t tend to get destroyed at the first corner as much and people are generally more considerate. Day and night cycles look pretty great to me. Graphics look greatly improved although 4k/120hz would be nice! Having a blast with the AI on career mode. Once you tailor the difficulty to your level then it feels competitive (with the exception of cars bunching up after race start - gets messy at the first corner).
Thanks for the video. My issue with this game is two-fold: single player career is weak and playing on PC after a while I had such issues with actually starting the game that 2 out of 3 times it simply didn't load from the Xbox PC app. Which is unacceptable. For these reasons I deleted the game and am now enjoying playing through Forza 4 on the X360. Back when this series was in its heyday.
Great video! I fully agree with your analysis. This is a great game, with a very good driving model, suitable to a large variety of players. The multiplayer is impressive as well, while the single player isn't so attractive. The graphics is superb on all the platforms. I look forward for a long support from the producer.

I think the builders cup is okay, but it doesn't add much to the game. I love the improvements to accessibility, but the auto-steering and braking being enabled makes it hard not to crash into cars in multiplayer. I agree that the driver ratings don't seem accurate, I have a rating of ~3,500 and I feel like I should be much lower when I barely finish higher than 10th [in a full lobby]. I enjoy single-player but the AI needs work for sure.
Hope you dont get disappointed, its starting to be the bare minimun of what it had to be at launch. But its babysteps.. Main problem now is T10 is managing the development in a terrible way. They ignore the fanbase completely. Except the change to how car points system works. But that idea of leveling your car to upgrade it was so crazy retarded so i cant figure out how they could ever consider it as an option at all.
I have been thinking about getting back to Forza since I took a break just as they changed the annoying car leveling. But I agree single player was lacking and forcing FOMO with the featured events was annoying, why not just add those events permanently to singleplayer and increase the catalog overall? I am also one of the people wishing Mt Fuji would make a return!
I've played the game when it launched through game pass and while the core gameplay wasn't that bad, everything around it really left a bad taste in my mouth. Fast forward to now and I'm genuinely enjoying myself on both the wheel setup (just your typical Logitech G920) and a Xbox Series controller. I mainly just do career and free play (solo), sometimes I hop in multiplayer when I feel like it and do some races against strangers or sometimes I go around the Nordschleife layout with a couple of buds testing and comparing our builds. Performance still leaves a lot to be desired in some areas, RTGI definitely needs to be added into the game (it is demanding, but with those optimizations throughout the months, it's not impossible to have it now if your card can handle it), many car models needs to be updated, which we only got the 22B and nothing else so far, and some of the odd instability, bugs and crashes that need to be ironed out like Logitech G HUB making the game crash on launch or infinite loading bugs. Graphics finally don't look as washed out, but they still do feel pretty dull for the most part. Thankfully, for Nvidia owners of RTX cards there is a solution of using the game filter option from their overlay. I added more saturation, HDR toning and increased the gamma and contrast together and wow, it transforms the game. It is all up to an individual's tastes, but personally I just can't go back after I set it up myself. Maybe if I used an OLED, the game would naturally pop more, but this is still a pretty good solution. All in all, I do appreciate them not giving up with the game, but this is how the game should've launched for the most part. Problem with many games, including live service ones, is to release it in a pretty rough shape and then potentially fix it later.
Yes, the sadly pretty standard practice of "release now, fix later" is really getting on my nerves as well. I'm, like you, also very happy though that they have not given up on the game. 😊 Interesting insights btw on fixing the look of the game, maybe that'll help other people on PC as well. 👍
@@HDeeRacing Yeah, Nvidia's method of driver level reshade-like feature is really amazing, only downside is that it also affects the HUD and other elements, which it is a decent trade off in case of this game.
Yeah FM has become a lot better. At least in MP. I've given up on SP after month two due to the AI. Also, you're a maniac for not running proximity radar when driving in first person :D

I spent most of my career in the nuclear industry which naturally came with many performance-based audits. Your balanced perspective reminds me of how these type of a reviews should be completed. Well done! I truly hope T10 will watch this vid. This is exactly the type of feedback that organizations that truly want to improve, should be aware of and support. WRT Single player, I personally enjoy single player in FM since I find it takes less concentration and focus when compared to multi player. Many times when I turn on the console in the evening, I want to turn my brain mostly off and look for some racing that provides a little more when compared to FH5. Multiplayer requires full concentration primarily because I don’t want to ruin another players race because of an inadvertent mistake on my part. I do find the single player to be “a little dry” and think T10 could make it a little more fun. I agree that newer race car offerings would be great and definitely would attract more players. Future success of this franchise needs to incorporate this. Drivatar AI and the penalty system still needs the most work and I am disappointed with the progress T10 has made in these 2 extremely important aspects after one year. Overall, like you stated, I still really enjoy FM and am pleased with the improvements that have been made to this game. Keep up the great work and hopefully we will find your year2 review showing completion of the most important aspects of the game that require improvements. 😀👍👍

There's still a lot of issues I simply cannot overlook.... 1. The lack of dyno when upgrading a car is obscene. Every racing game since Need For Speed on DOS in 1994 has featured a power curve. Insane. 2. The AI ... Once you get into first place, they give up. They also will change their line based on yours, when you're behind them 🤣 3. The engine sounds. This may be the worst engine sounds ever put into a racing game. Everything sounds so flat and nowhere close to reality. All 4-cylinders and v8s sound identical. Again, what?! The sound has been downhill since FM4 and reached new lows I cannot comprehend. 4. Lack of content - wheres drifting? Wheres drag racing? Where are the tracks? Where are the vehicles? They reuse all the models and continue blatantly incorrect vehicles (02 camaro and trans am having different engine, weight and suspension tuning despite being identical vehicles built in same plant for reference), there's no reason all the legacy vehicles haven't made it over. It's clear they do nothing when porting into new game. I was and continue to be very let down by the game. I still play occasionally hoping they fixed the core issues and am always disappointed.
It's okay to be disappointed. FM's launch has not been great. Things might improve, but if you cannot overlook these issues, than maybe check back in a year or two.
I highly recommend trying the Renault Clio RS for the MR feature, and B class in mulitclass. I went from slicks to sport to street tyres, still handles like a dream with great acceleration and speed.
Do community challenges (if they already made, if not, you can create new challenges for the community) I really think that doing that may you have more attention
I still can't stand the sound of physics of FM. I feel totally disconnected when driving. Sound is horrible imo. I much prefer GT7's everything over FM. Kinda sucks bc FM has a great roster of cars. 😔
Interesting to hear. I have not driven GT7 myself, but from what I've heard the physics are more basic there (less details) and sound wise I'm also not a fan, especially with every curb just playing the same static sound effect.
Yes, the last year has felt like somewhat of a beta test. But still, the game has come a long way and the devs seem to be listening. Fingers crossed the continue like this. 🤞
I enjoy the builders cup because every month you have the chance to compete in several various races (yes sadly there are very few races with competion cars) for win rare cars that you cannot find in the dealer and imho this is the feature hook me in the game montho after month
The short answer to that question would be "YES", and i think that perception is starting to, very slowly, come apparent with the general playerbase. I still think that... •Singleplayer is, for the lack of a better term, dead. There's no real reason to bother with it apart from the featured and open tour if you don't want to grind the new cars via multiplayer. •we need more tracks, and preferably some unexpected additions (like sunset Peninsula). Potentially we might be getting Paul Ricard judging from the cover of the game and i'm sure we'll get Monza in the future... Personally, i'd like to see venues like Zolder, Red Bull Ring and Autopolis come to FM if i had to choose 3. •need more current racecars but not necessarilly an updated (EVO) model as that would feel like a wasted addition. Also, some classes need some fresh blood (Forza TC, Proto H, Forza P1-P2-P3 and purchaseable Forza GT) •the penalty system is still not ideal for track limits and if you gain an actual advantage (the average Spa experience) •there needs to be an actual offline mode. On the day the server get plugged, we can't play it anymore (The crew recently adressed this). But everything else in general is really solid right now. Should Motorsport have released like this ? Absolutly not but that's the general practice in modern gaming it seems (looking at you test drive solar Crown). That being said, we can do just fine with what we got and it's getting better every update!
Yes, the game is for sure better now! 😊 Of course the argument that it shouldn't have released like it did is very valid. And even though this seems to be general practice, I'm gonna continue speaking out against it. I work in software development myself and I also can't push out unfinished or untested stuff.
I'm having more fun than I did when it came out in multiplayer. Rating has me at "A" saftey and 4800-4900 skill and the majority of racers are decently clean (its Forza after all). Most collisions occur from overzealous racers losing control. Trail-braking and slip angle are possible on a controller which is the first thing I look for to determine the viability of the handling model. Progression system is still meh. I havent seen the game since tge first month so i was impressed when the AI got through the first corner without wrecking.
Builders Cup just lacks imho a soul. I dont need a cringe story like in NFS or the a bit less cringe "driver event"-stuff from FH or TCM, but at least some context. GT on PS5 does it pretty well imho, again. There are interesting challenges for your licenses and the competition have this nice car-coffee-setup.
I think it's a great game. One of the very few that everyone can enjoy no matter your favoured control scheme. It's ok to prefer one game or another and have your favourites, but one unfortunate thing I've learned is that the racing sim community, in general, can be extremely elitist and unforgiving when compared to other gaming communities. Most racing sims that don't meet the absolute best standard from day one get completely destroyed everywhere unless they start as absolute underdogs. Specially if they are simcades, as they are already breaking the first commandment of "not every person can have fun with your game". And according to most forums and boards for racing games if you can't play with a wheel you should not be allowed to exist in this planet or even our solar system. Not you, @HDeeRacing. You are a reasonable guy :D
Yes, the racing community can sometimes be a bit "my racing game is better than yours". I try to stay away from that as best as humanly possible. 😅 Edit: Oops, I said racing "game", which is obviously incorrect for all the proper sims. 🙈

I am a pure single player. The single player in FM8 is a disgrace. As you say yourself. No structure and therefore no reason to play. The fact that the career mode has no racing cars only adds to the misery...
I quit Forza last December and never went back to it. I initially had to quit because of work but even when I could start it back up I didn't want to simply because of one issue and that's Player Count. The player count in the game is nothing compared to ACC or other games and that hurts the game a lot. I feel the player counts are a major factor in the Safety and Skill Ratings not working properly
The player count is not that bad from what I can tell. It's just that matchmaking is not working well, the system is flawed. And there are a couple too many different events.

@@HDeeRacing Don't know about now, but at launch gamepad users definitely had an advantage. No matter what settings I tried (from like a dozen UA-cam videos) driving on a wheel felt absolutely horrible. This and the dumb AI made me stop playing entirely.
It was not a bad game at the beggining but it was not perfect of course. Through the year T10 done good job but it's more to do with this game. Now I will refer to your timestamps. 1. Handling - For me, it's perfect as always and you can play this game fine with a wheel or a controler. The only complain from me is that I have to search tutorials how to set that tons of sliders in force feedback section, becouse my wheel felt like a heavy hammer. Now when everythig is set correctly, the game is fully enjoyable. 2. Tracks and Cars - More new tracks, not recycling. The are many, many, many iconic tracks that They can bring to the game, like Fuji Speedway, Interlagos, Imola, Sakhir. But unfortunately, they dont do it and for me It's a shame. The only track I'm missing from previous games is COTA. But for the cars I have a more complains. For me, Forza is a racing game. Racing for me, means more racing cars. I think that they too much focusing on a road legal cars than on a true racing cars. As I said about track, that are many, many and more beautifull racing cars. For road cars, I have Forza Horizon becouse I do not need another VW Golf or Polo. For now, the FIA WEC in now on the run and They should add some of this cars to the game. We have now a Porsche 963, so why no more? New Peugeot 9X8, BMW M Hybrid V8 or Ferrari 499P would be a nice addtion for the game. But I really, really don't like the way, that they just stole from us an auction house from the game and force us, to unlock the new cars only by beating that boring as hell singleplayer and time focused events to unlock some cars. You missed event, the car is lost. I don't like it, like as many FM players. Auction house was a crucial option in previous games and if i missed some cars, I can just buy if from the auction house. But not in new FM. 3. Single Player - As I mentioned before, the singleplayer for me Is boring as hell. No story, no progression, nothing and it's not fun and entertaining. 4. AI - The only complain about AI is the brakechecking. When I'm close to their bumper, I'm 100% sure, that they do brakecheck for me. But when I finally overtake, they just forget how to race. 5. Progression - To be honest, there is no progression in this game. No leaderboards, no progression. Not even the driver stats. 6. Tuning and Customization - Tuning doesn't exist for me. There is always a meta tuning and thats all. But customization of cars is beatifull. Fanmade liveries are the best. 7. Multiplayer - It's ok for me. But I'm really missing the endurance races. 8. Rating and Regulations - The idea of skill level and safety rate was great but It means nothing in real game. 9. Graphics and Sound - Graphics is ok but In my opion the game looks sugary. They too much focused on RT and even with that, there is a substantial downgrade. More important is crisp and clear image like in FM7. Becouse of that looking on the start we have a very bad optimised game for PC. Now It's not ideal, but far away from we have before. For sound T10 make it more clear than just pure raw sounds and for some cars, it's sound really bad. There are many sound compares on UA-cam from FM7 and FM 2023 and to be hones, FM7 sounds really better. But the worst thing in sound is that they just copy and paste sound throught the cars. In Lamborghini cars you can hear it very well. It's very bad decision. As I sad, the game was not perfect at start, but there is so much do to in the future. I just bought the game last month. I actually enjoy it but the AI is so bad. I like the single player career mode because I like driving road cars on track. I bought this game and a sim setup because I can't go to track days because of my work and family.

Great video as always. No is the answer. It depends on how you play the game, if you play it with a controller then it's ok as good as anything others. I love the tyre wear and the way it treats online racing we're free practice and qualifying but if you play with the wheel, it's not good. If you're playing real Sims alongside it it's so hard to play Forza. And it's not good to then get used to the wheel settings on Forza and go back to a real sim. Sadly I won't be playing, with my wheel very often but I will still play. I've played hundreds of hours already. These days I'm only interested in real simulators. And if I want a bit of fun Forza horizon remains a far superior game to Forza Motorsport
I actually found the magic settings for FFB. Set everything to +/- 0 and then adjust FFB force for your own liking. What i mean by this is Sliders that goes from 0 to 200 you put at 100 Sliders that goes from 0-100 you set at 50. This is the "neutral" point of their FFB engine, and its actually way better than i expected before i tried those settings. How about you test them @HDeeRacing and tell us what you think?
@@Speedyey That's probably not a bad approach. Most of my sliders are somewhat towards the middle as well. Two things I'd be careful on is Wheel Damping Scale and Center Spring Scale. Both of those too high above 0 led to a really bad wheel feel for me.
@@HDeeRacing yea, forgot to mention those. They need to be at 0. One setting i found to be very important to have at 100 (exact middle) is the one that sets body roll feel. Dont remember its exact name but if you put the weight balance shifting setting to low, it gets very hard to feel the car.
The game has definitely improved, however I still think the cars have to much under steer. The best things for me is the large selection of cars & tracks.
You can tune the cars a lot though, for the most part being able to get most of the understeer out. Stock tunes are pretty bad though most of the time.
The game is good but I don't like wath they make with gt series. They give us in gt online series olds cars and give us gt2,gt3,gt4 series when won't they 😢😢😢
I will never recommend buying an XBox, as I find gaming on PC far superior. Yes, it tends to be more expensive, but you can also use a PC for so many more things. As for Forza Motorsport, it really depends on what you're looking for. It's not a bad game, but it still has it's flaws.
I had so much hope and it has been a let down. Career mode is beyond boring. The ai is horrendous as is the penalty system. Wish they give an option to turn that off. The handling is meh especially at the edge of some tracks. Tire wear vs ai tire wear. Rubberabd ai is horrid, either start and get up at the front of the pack or they’ll just speed up lap after lap. Otherwise you’ll be up front and they’ll lag behind you. 😂 The entire game has been meh.
I don't think there are very many players on a wheel, the majority plays with controller online. FM has made it to where it really is personal preference.
This game is trash. Terrible understeer. No new tracks, just cut and pasted from prior games. Scamming progression system, whereby Turn 10 are selling you a solution (premium pass) to their own self-created problem. This game’s development is chequered to the extreme and anyone who has followed it knows what has gone on here. This updated review wants to be ‘balanced’ but the fact is, the game is so half-baked no-one should be buying this. Buy game pass, download this and count your lucky stars before you promptly delete it again. It’s the time in many years when Gran Turismo has comfortably taken back its crown. And even then, GT7 has massive issues. Quote telling.
I guess that's really subjective. Some players are happy with where the game has gotten now, but I can also understand that Turn10 burned a lot of their loyal long-time Motorsport players.
I bought Forza Motorsport in August i played it since today. It’s bad. I don’t really have fun playing the game, because the single player is really short und the cars are randomly mixed. I mean, there is a complete cup just for one of the disliked models of the mustang. After finishing so fast, you only have to play online oder so some Timeattacks. I mean, the event online are good, but multiplayer is bad so I tried die avoid the multiplayer in Games generally. I only play Multiplayer for leveling cars to get the reward but it’s so annoying. In the lobby aber wild people who plays the game 10 hours straight a day with wheel or people who can’t lose and ram. That’s not fun. They also missing a lot of tracks and cars which were in previous Forza. I’ll promise you, the second after I get the last reward, I uninstall the game and never touch it again. There is no incentive to play the game after. Problaby the next Motorsport is better.
@@HDeeRacing I play it on Xbox. There are reward like on PC for emaxple win your first race. This is the only reason why I keep playing. Maybe the word were not right chosen but I hate to play the multiplayer because the rammers. It’s still better than do Timeattacks only. I’m just disappointed for a fullprice Forza and I try to do the best to get the most for the price of this game. The story is just short and random and you don’t even drive one racecar like you said in the video. I miss the endurance race and the other classes like racing in older lemans cars. It’s not bad at all, it’s fun to drive with the cars but not worth a full price Forza Titel.
It's actually pretty decent, just the default settings are really bad for most wheels. And with all the sliders it's a pain to set up right. Shouldn't be this way, but if set up well, the FFB is good imo.
The track list is not bad now imo. As for cars, that's personal preference I guess. I'm fine with road cars that can be upgraded, though I also prefer race cars.
FM8 is starting to look like the game it should have been at release. But how T10 has been handling the gmaes terrible launch and development over this year is 10/10 unaccaptable. No hotfixes for fixing major bugs, like the one that made the game freeze when you exited any race. To top that of it feels like 90% of the updates has been to push out content that noone asked for. T10 has ignored the playerbase way to much. The game is better then at release, but its still not the game it should have been on release. A working penelty system, radar, tire and fuel. All of those things is 100% needed in a modern racing game if it wanna call itself a racing game. I honestly doubt that FM8 will recover. They have let the player base down way to much, and ignored us when we scream for changes and fixes. The AI is something that i in like 95% of the races just turned down to lvl 1 and drove alone just to grind the reward cars i wanted. Racing with Ai is simply undoable, thats how bad it is. The balance for open classes is in dire need of changes, every class got their 3-5 meta cars that you must drive to be competetive. So the open classes arent really that open, looking at you 90s MX5..... The newly added challange hub is a good addition, cuz now you dont need to suffer in AI racing to get a car if you want it, but this should also be a choice at release. FM8 maybe can get to a state where its a good game.... but i doubt it, it suffered to much over this year and now its playerbase is very small, and im having trouble seeing it grow enough to be that well populated so that ratings matter in online matchmaking. Its a shame but i think the harsh truth is that Forza Motorsport is gonna die with FM8. Big big shame on T10 for treating Forza motorsport like this. The title deserves better, it deserves the same passion as the players have. I could go on but yea, im VERY disappointed in T10. but atleast they are taking baby steps in the right direction. But im pretty sure its to little and to late. What ive learned from FM8 tho is to never ever again buy a game pre release, and TDU SC that just had an even worse launch just proves that this is the way to go.
I would agree that the launch of FM was not well managed by Turn10. And I think that's the biggest problem - the management. I think there are a lot of very talented devs at Turn10, but the management decisions led to a lot of the problems we saw for release or still see today. I still have hope for FM, as it's been steadily going in the right direction. But I can understand that Turn10 has burned a lot of players, who may never return.
The thing that always bemuses me about racing videos on UA-cam is why so many of them show the racing line help arrows. This makes the whole thing totally unrealistic, which is all the more puzzling when reviewers are often talking about realism. Sorry to pick on you for this. Nothing personal, I just reached a point when I had to make this comment that I have thought so many times before buy resisted the urge to comment on it.
I don't know, for me the braking line in Forza games is personal preference. A lot of pros use it as well, because it gives an advantage. I use it mostly as a reference for harder braking zones, because I don't want to learn those for every different car I'm driving. In games like ACC I don't use the racing line at all, because that is where I want the realism to come through.
@@nikolaig1 You get credits for everything you do in the game. Eventually you'll have most cars you even want to race and at that point credits will just stockpile.
So I guess you didn't like the handling? Because for me the most prevalent issues with the game in the beginning did not manifest themselves before several hours in.
I played this game on Oct 5th last year and felt very very disappointed. Even though I spent like 80 hours in this game specifically on the single-player because there aren‘t many better choices on XBOX, I still think the single-player is too boring even compared to itself and I don't want to touch it again unless for some new cars. I mean as a game named itself MOTORSPORT, the single-player just some almost random playlist that you could just create by yourself. It's good to see that T10 hasn't given up this game yet and keeps adding some great features to it. But right now FM still lacks of content to me engaged. And tuning the FFB for wheels is still a nightmare to me. Right now ACC and iRacing are still a much better choice for me but I will definitely keep an eye on it's evolve. After all, a game that balances arcade and sim well would be a nice way to relax for me.
As a forza fan from the inception for decades now, I am just beyond exhausted by the endless hype announcements and consistently disappointing AF actual mess. So much I tried Gran Turismo 7, having to purchase a PS5 even, and wow, talk about eye opening. I recall when Forza shot past GT and was truly innovating, not they are just left in the dust and hoping to keep eyes from opening to what's been going on while features have been removed over and over and replaced with excuses. All the best folks, when you want to be happy again, and not suffer, come join us, just look for the big smiling gear head girls and boys and all the actual implemented features!
As long as GT7 is PS5 only, it's not going to win over a lot of the Forza players. Some, yes, but not many. GT7 would have a big opportunity to shake things up and bring some real competition if they brought it to PC imo. I would try it then and see how it stacks up, especially in terms of driving feel.
Tried this game when it launched on pc. The wheel support and ffb feel was terrible and being locked to 60fps online is a sin. Until they improve that I wont be buying it.
In my experience wheel FFB is actually quite good, the default settings are just trash sadly. And with how many sliders there are, it takes a long time to get it right.

Someone needs to tell turn10 no one has time to come back every week to unlock cars. We already have horizon 5 doing that. This game is amazing on wheel but nothing on controller. Stopped playing after launch.
my main disappointment with the newest forza games singleplayer was quite a let down compared to FM7. FM7 had tons to do and had lots of endurance races to do.. so I was hoping fm8 would have been fm7 but improved. i would like to see intermediate tires as a option for wet racing
fun fact: a model of the FordGT that appeared in the fm23 showcase was very detailed, but in the game, they used the same model as fm6, so whoever modeled that car had their work thrown in the trash...
I like single player because it helps discover new cars for open class races. I’m not a car guy generally so each cup having a theme really helps me see what different cars are like.

Me and my friend switched from GT7 to this because we just wanted a consistent way to join up and race people online in the same race. Something you cant really do in GT, you have to hope you end up in the same daily race if you sign up to it and the private lobbies are just dead 1 or 2 people in most of them and nobody joins a race that we set up so we just have to wait for ages, TLDR forza multiplayer good GT7 multiplayer bad

@@mark.082I think eventually Sony will have to yield and release GT7 on PC, just like they yielded with their other games....The sim racing community on PC is simply too big to ignore, as well as the PC market as a whole. PC is the future of gaming, Xbox already saw it coming a mile away and they knew it was going to be an uphill battle with Sony if they stayed on consoles only, so they positioned themselves very early on to catch a big piece of that PC pie. Sony is still high on the PS2 success, and is very slow to wake up to reality!

I think combination of pc and consoles is the way to go, and Xbox switches cuz they are just incompetent at developing compelling products, their big exclusives like halo are performing horribly and the studios they bought like Bethesda are trash now. They just know Xbox is dying and jumped ship.

Lexus LFA is a dream car. I just cannot bring myself to complete the championship - 900 hours in game so far.

I keep reinstalling it, playing a bit, then playing GT7 and realizing how much of a trash bin fire FM23 is, and deleting it again.
Every time I reinstall, it's the same gripes. It's a game ported from 2015... menus are bad, customizations are a joke, sounds are bad, interiors are junk... a gaudy wheel menu, and bugged lighting. It's just a mess. I play on Ultra on PC and at its best it looks like GT7 at its worst.
The core game is not gonna change. If GT7 is more up your alley, I'd just stick with it.

I'm really curious how Sunset Peninsula is gonna be like, as it's a new track for me. Fujimi Kaido has to come at some point, with how many people want to see that return.
I think we'll eventually get the "Hakone Mountain Circuit", that has been found in the game files. That'll probably be the replacement for Fujimi Kaido and contain the same type of togue roads.
If you look closely at Hakone GP circuit you can see two connecting roads that exit the track and continue up into the mountains.

@HDeeRacing it was a fun multiplayer track as it was relatively wide and fast. It's certainly a suprise addition as it wasn't really a fan favorite, it was just there because forza didn't have daytona yet. I think they needed to make something quick and cheap and this is what they chose.
@@im2fast4u711 I feel we might be at a point where some of the Forza fantasy tracks become more desirable. Daytona can be raced in many games but Sunset Peninsula only in Forza. The long infield version is very distinct.
Turn 10 really knew how to create fantasy tracks back in their prime and I welcome them all just as much as the usual real world suspects.
Couldnt agree more about the AI bit. Alot of the times if im side by side with an AI oponent. They'll just blindly follow the race line and punt me off the track like as if i was there. Doesnt help when they're like tanks
Love the light on the interior of the car ceiling. Not many games light that area, it'll just be black.
The new one is garbage without any backwards compatibility whatsoever. With Windows and their modern mess of an operating system, I just went back to casually playing FM7. FM7 and FM 8 are very, very similar in cars and tracks. Perhaps one has advantages over the other but they are similar enough in most regards. What grinds my gears is how I paid full price yet again for a full size game that still wont work on my aging hardware even after a year of official support. Not everyone has the latest and greatest pc components required to push these games. Its foolish to require cutting edge modern tech just so a game becomes barely playable imho. Theres no love in this series, its all corporate polish.
Newer games needing better hardware is normal though, technology evolves. For me the improved handling alone makes the new FM better than FM7, but not everyone will see it that way.

My playtime on this game has been ramping up. Mostly playing single player but occasionally multiplayer - the penalty system has surprisingly made races more enjoyable as you don’t tend to get destroyed at the first corner as much and people are generally more considerate.
Day and night cycles look pretty great to me. Graphics look greatly improved although 4k/120hz would be nice!
Having a blast with the AI on career mode. Once you tailor the difficulty to your level then it feels competitive (with the exception of cars bunching up after race start - gets messy at the first corner).
Solid take on FM, can't wait for the 2 year overview :)

Thanks for the video. My issue with this game is two-fold: single player career is weak and playing on PC after a while I had such issues with actually starting the game that 2 out of 3 times it simply didn't load from the Xbox PC app. Which is unacceptable. For these reasons I deleted the game and am now enjoying playing through Forza 4 on the X360. Back when this series was in its heyday.

This is a great game, with a very good driving model, suitable to a large variety of players. The multiplayer is impressive as well, while the single player isn't so attractive.

No, the game is trash.
I think the builders cup is okay, but it doesn't add much to the game. I love the improvements to accessibility, but the auto-steering and braking being enabled makes it hard not to crash into cars in multiplayer. I agree that the driver ratings don't seem accurate, I have a rating of ~3,500 and I feel like I should be much lower when I barely finish higher than 10th [in a full lobby]. I enjoy single-player but the AI needs work for sure.

Hope you dont get disappointed, its starting to be the bare minimun of what it had to be at launch. But its babysteps.. Main problem now is T10 is managing the development in a terrible way. They ignore the fanbase completely. Except the change to how car points system works. But that idea of leveling your car to upgrade it was so crazy retarded so i cant figure out how they could ever consider it as an option at all.

I have been thinking about getting back to Forza since I took a break just as they changed the annoying car leveling. But I agree single player was lacking and forcing FOMO with the featured events was annoying, why not just add those events permanently to singleplayer and increase the catalog overall? I am also one of the people wishing Mt Fuji would make a return!

I've played the game when it launched through game pass and while the core gameplay wasn't that bad, everything around it really left a bad taste in my mouth. Fast forward to now and I'm genuinely enjoying myself on both the wheel setup (just your typical Logitech G920) and a Xbox Series controller. I mainly just do career and free play (solo), sometimes I hop in multiplayer when I feel like it and do some races against strangers or sometimes I go around the Nordschleife layout with a couple of buds testing and comparing our builds.
Performance still leaves a lot to be desired in some areas, RTGI definitely needs to be added into the game (it is demanding, but with those optimizations throughout the months, it's not impossible to have it now if your card can handle it), many car models needs to be updated, which we only got the 22B and nothing else so far, and some of the odd instability, bugs and crashes that need to be ironed out like Logitech G HUB making the game crash on launch or infinite loading bugs.
Graphics finally don't look as washed out, but they still do feel pretty dull for the most part. Thankfully, for Nvidia owners of RTX cards there is a solution of using the game filter option from their overlay. I added more saturation, HDR toning and increased the gamma and contrast together and wow, it transforms the game. It is all up to an individual's tastes, but personally I just can't go back after I set it up myself. Maybe if I used an OLED, the game would naturally pop more, but this is still a pretty good solution.
All in all, I do appreciate them not giving up with the game, but this is how the game should've launched for the most part. Problem with many games, including live service ones, is to release it in a pretty rough shape and then potentially fix it later.
Yes, the sadly pretty standard practice of "release now, fix later" is really getting on my nerves as well. I'm, like you, also very happy though that they have not given up on the game. 😊

@@HDeeRacing Yeah, Nvidia's method of driver level reshade-like feature is really amazing, only downside is that it also affects the HUD and other elements, which it is a decent trade off in case of this game.

Well done! I truly hope T10 will watch this vid. This is exactly the type of feedback that organizations that truly want to improve, should be aware of and support.
WRT Single player, I personally enjoy single player in FM since I find it takes less concentration and focus when compared to multi player. Many times when I turn on the console in the evening, I want to turn my brain mostly off and look for some racing that provides a little more when compared to FH5. Multiplayer requires full concentration primarily because I don’t want to ruin another players race because of an inadvertent mistake on my part. I do find the single player to be “a little dry” and think T10 could make it a little more fun.
I agree that newer race car offerings would be great and definitely would attract more players. Future success of this franchise needs to incorporate this.
Drivatar AI and the penalty system still needs the most work and I am disappointed with the progress T10 has made in these 2 extremely important aspects after one year.
Overall, like you stated, I still really enjoy FM and am pleased with the improvements that have been made to this game.

There's still a lot of issues I simply cannot overlook....
1. The lack of dyno when upgrading a car is obscene. Every racing game since Need For Speed on DOS in 1994 has featured a power curve. Insane.
2. The AI ... Once you get into first place, they give up. They also will change their line based on yours, when you're behind them 🤣
3. The engine sounds. This may be the worst engine sounds ever put into a racing game. Everything sounds so flat and nowhere close to reality. All 4-cylinders and v8s sound identical. Again, what?! The sound has been downhill since FM4 and reached new lows I cannot comprehend.
4. Lack of content - wheres drifting? Wheres drag racing? Where are the tracks? Where are the vehicles? They reuse all the models and continue blatantly incorrect vehicles (02 camaro and trans am having different engine, weight and suspension tuning despite being identical vehicles built in same plant for reference), there's no reason all the legacy vehicles haven't made it over. It's clear they do nothing when porting into new game.
I was and continue to be very let down by the game. I still play occasionally hoping they fixed the core issues and am always disappointed.
It's okay to be disappointed. FM's launch has not been great. Things might improve, but if you cannot overlook these issues, than maybe check back in a year or two.

I highly recommend trying the Renault Clio RS for the MR feature, and B class in mulitclass. I went from slicks to sport to street tyres, still handles like a dream with great acceleration and speed.

I still can't stand the sound of physics of FM. I feel totally disconnected when driving. Sound is horrible imo. I much prefer GT7's everything over FM. Kinda sucks bc FM has a great roster of cars. 😔
Interesting to hear. I have not driven GT7 myself, but from what I've heard the physics are more basic there (less details) and sound wise I'm also not a fan, especially with every curb just playing the same static sound effect.

I enjoy the builders cup because every month you have the chance to compete in several various races (yes sadly there are very few races with competion cars) for win rare cars that you cannot find in the dealer and imho this is the feature hook me in the game montho after month

•Singleplayer is, for the lack of a better term, dead. There's no real reason to bother with it apart from the featured and open tour if you don't want to grind the new cars via multiplayer.
•we need more tracks, and preferably some unexpected additions (like sunset Peninsula). Potentially we might be getting Paul Ricard judging from the cover of the game and i'm sure we'll get Monza in the future... Personally, i'd like to see venues like Zolder, Red Bull Ring and Autopolis come to FM if i had to choose 3.
•need more current racecars but not necessarilly an updated (EVO) model as that would feel like a wasted addition. Also, some classes need some fresh blood (Forza TC, Proto H, Forza P1-P2-P3 and purchaseable Forza GT)
•the penalty system is still not ideal for track limits and if you gain an actual advantage (the average Spa experience)
•there needs to be an actual offline mode. On the day the server get plugged, we can't play it anymore (The crew recently adressed this).
But everything else in general is really solid right now.
Should Motorsport have released like this ? Absolutly not but that's the general practice in modern gaming it seems (looking at you test drive solar Crown). That being said, we can do just fine with what we got and it's getting better every update!

And even though this seems to be general practice, I'm gonna continue speaking out against it. I work in software development myself and I also can't push out unfinished or untested stuff.

That has been improved over the year as well. I'm happy with it now, but it's a very subjective topic.
I'm having more fun than I did when it came out in multiplayer. Rating has me at "A" saftey and 4800-4900 skill and the majority of racers are decently clean (its Forza after all). Most collisions occur from overzealous racers losing control. Trail-braking and slip angle are possible on a controller which is the first thing I look for to determine the viability of the handling model. Progression system is still meh. I havent seen the game since tge first month so i was impressed when the AI got through the first corner without wrecking.
Builders Cup just lacks imho a soul. I dont need a cringe story like in NFS or the a bit less cringe "driver event"-stuff from FH or TCM, but at least some context. GT on PS5 does it pretty well imho, again. There are interesting challenges for your licenses and the competition have this nice car-coffee-setup.

I think it's a great game. One of the very few that everyone can enjoy no matter your favoured control scheme. It's ok to prefer one game or another and have your favourites, but one unfortunate thing I've learned is that the racing sim community, in general, can be extremely elitist and unforgiving when compared to other gaming communities. Most racing sims that don't meet the absolute best standard from day one get completely destroyed everywhere unless they start as absolute underdogs. Specially if they are simcades, as they are already breaking the first commandment of "not every person can have fun with your game". And according to most forums and boards for racing games if you can't play with a wheel you should not be allowed to exist in this planet or even our solar system.

Yes, the racing community can sometimes be a bit "my racing game is better than yours". I try to stay away from that as best as humanly possible. 😅

I am a pure single player. The single player in FM8 is a disgrace. As you say yourself. No structure and therefore no reason to play. The fact that the career mode has no racing cars only adds to the misery...
I quit Forza last December and never went back to it. I initially had to quit because of work but even when I could start it back up I didn't want to simply because of one issue and that's Player Count. The player count in the game is nothing compared to ACC or other games and that hurts the game a lot. I feel the player counts are a major factor in the Safety and Skill Ratings not working properly
The player count is not that bad from what I can tell. It's just that matchmaking is not working well, the system is flawed. And there are a couple too many different events.

Why would they? No input device is inherently better than the other in Forza.
@@HDeeRacing Don't know about now, but at launch gamepad users definitely had an advantage. No matter what settings I tried (from like a dozen UA-cam videos) driving on a wheel felt absolutely horrible. This and the dumb AI made me stop playing entirely.
A little tip for next video: Don't show an entire race in the background. I would like to see more variety.

It was not a bad game at the beggining but it was not perfect of course. Through the year T10 done good job but it's more to do with this game. Now I will refer to your timestamps.
1. Handling - For me, it's perfect as always and you can play this game fine with a wheel or a controler. The only complain from me is that I have to search tutorials how to set that tons of sliders in force feedback section, becouse my wheel felt like a heavy hammer. Now when everythig is set correctly, the game is fully enjoyable.
2. Tracks and Cars - More new tracks, not recycling. The are many, many, many iconic tracks that They can bring to the game, like Fuji Speedway, Interlagos, Imola, Sakhir. But unfortunately, they dont do it and for me It's a shame. The only track I'm missing from previous games is COTA.
But for the cars I have a more complains. For me, Forza is a racing game. Racing for me, means more racing cars. I think that they too much focusing on a road legal cars than on a true racing cars. As I said about track, that are many, many and more beautifull racing cars. For road cars, I have Forza Horizon becouse I do not need another VW Golf or Polo. For now, the FIA WEC in now on the run and They should add some of this cars to the game. We have now a Porsche 963, so why no more? New Peugeot 9X8, BMW M Hybrid V8 or Ferrari 499P would be a nice addtion for the game.
But I really, really don't like the way, that they just stole from us an auction house from the game and force us, to unlock the new cars only by beating that boring as hell singleplayer and time focused events to unlock some cars. You missed event, the car is lost. I don't like it, like as many FM players. Auction house was a crucial option in previous games and if i missed some cars, I can just buy if from the auction house. But not in new FM.
3. Single Player - As I mentioned before, the singleplayer for me Is boring as hell. No story, no progression, nothing and it's not fun and entertaining.
4. AI - The only complain about AI is the brakechecking. When I'm close to their bumper, I'm 100% sure, that they do brakecheck for me. But when I finally overtake, they just forget how to race.
5. Progression - To be honest, there is no progression in this game. No leaderboards, no progression. Not even the driver stats.
6. Tuning and Customization - Tuning doesn't exist for me. There is always a meta tuning and thats all. But customization of cars is beatifull. Fanmade liveries are the best.
7. Multiplayer - It's ok for me. But I'm really missing the endurance races.
8. Rating and Regulations - The idea of skill level and safety rate was great but It means nothing in real game.
9. Graphics and Sound - Graphics is ok but In my opion the game looks sugary. They too much focused on RT and even with that, there is a substantial downgrade. More important is crisp and clear image like in FM7. Becouse of that looking on the start we have a very bad optimised game for PC. Now It's not ideal, but far away from we have before. For sound T10 make it more clear than just pure raw sounds and for some cars, it's sound really bad. There are many sound compares on UA-cam from FM7 and FM 2023 and to be hones, FM7 sounds really better. But the worst thing in sound is that they just copy and paste sound throught the cars. In Lamborghini cars you can hear it very well. It's very bad decision.
As I sad, the game was not perfect at start, but there is so much do to in the future. I really, really like the driving feeling of FM, but definitely It's not "build from the ground up" game.

I just bought the game last month. I actually enjoy it but the AI is so bad. I like the single player career mode because I like driving road cars on track. I bought this game and a sim setup because I can't go to track days because of my work and family.
For driving road cars on tracks FM is really great. You also can do a lot in terms of upgrading and tuning, so I can for sure understand. 👍

Great video as always. No is the answer. It depends on how you play the game, if you play it with a controller then it's ok as good as anything others. I love the tyre wear and the way it treats online racing we're free practice and qualifying but if you play with the wheel, it's not good. If you're playing real Sims alongside it it's so hard to play Forza. And it's not good to then get used to the wheel settings on Forza and go back to a real sim. Sadly I won't be playing, with my wheel very often but I will still play. I've played hundreds of hours already. These days I'm only interested in real simulators. And if I want a bit of fun Forza horizon remains a far superior game to Forza Motorsport
I personally really like FM's force feedback if the settings are dialed in. It's just way easier in most sims.
i think emotional expression is overrated. it is not a bad thing to be a stiff. as long as language is communicated, it's job well done

I actually found the magic settings for FFB. Set everything to +/- 0 and then adjust FFB force for your own liking. What i mean by this is
Sliders that goes from 0 to 200 you put at 100
Sliders that goes from 0-100 you set at 50.
This is the "neutral" point of their FFB engine, and its actually way better than i expected before i tried those settings.
How about you test them @HDeeRacing and tell us what you think?
@@Speedyey That's probably not a bad approach. Most of my sliders are somewhat towards the middle as well. Two things I'd be careful on is Wheel Damping Scale and Center Spring Scale. Both of those too high above 0 led to a really bad wheel feel for me.
@@HDeeRacing yea, forgot to mention those. They need to be at 0. One setting i found to be very important to have at 100 (exact middle) is the one that sets body roll feel. Dont remember its exact name but if you put the weight balance shifting setting to low, it gets very hard to feel the car.

The game has definitely improved, however I still think the cars have to much under steer. The best things for me is the large selection of cars & tracks.
You can tune the cars a lot though, for the most part being able to get most of the understeer out. Stock tunes are pretty bad though most of the time.
I just hope for better models and tsukuba circuit

Year 2 of this game needs drag, drift, and better leaderboards. Also a fun gamemode like tag/infection in FM6.
Personally I'm happy with tag/infection and the sorts being in Horizon. Drift and Drag are needed though (and the first one is coming soon)

I will never recommend buying an XBox, as I find gaming on PC far superior. Yes, it tends to be more expensive, but you can also use a PC for so many more things. As for Forza Motorsport, it really depends on what you're looking for. It's not a bad game, but it still has it's flaws.

I had so much hope and it has been a let down. Career mode is beyond boring. The ai is horrendous as is the penalty system. Wish they give an option to turn that off. The handling is meh especially at the edge of some tracks. Tire wear vs ai tire wear. Rubberabd ai is horrid, either start and get up at the front of the pack or they’ll just speed up lap after lap. Otherwise you’ll be up front and they’ll lag behind you. 😂 The entire game has been meh.
For me what you're describing really encompasses single player. Which is why I almost exclusively play multiplayer.
I like the single player because I play on controller and can’t compete online with sim players!
most "pro" players in FM play on controller.
I don't think there are very many players on a wheel, the majority plays with controller online. FM has made it to where it really is personal preference.
Some of the best racers in the world play on controller! Jacques Villeneuve for one.
This game is trash. Terrible understeer. No new tracks, just cut and pasted from prior games. Scamming progression system, whereby Turn 10 are selling you a solution (premium pass) to their own self-created problem. This game’s development is chequered to the extreme and anyone who has followed it knows what has gone on here. This updated review wants to be ‘balanced’ but the fact is, the game is so half-baked no-one should be buying this. Buy game pass, download this and count your lucky stars before you promptly delete it again. It’s the time in many years when Gran Turismo has comfortably taken back its crown. And even then, GT7 has massive issues. Quote telling.

I guess that's really subjective. Some players are happy with where the game has gotten now, but I can also understand that Turn10 burned a lot of their loyal long-time Motorsport players.
I bought Forza Motorsport in August i played it since today. It’s bad. I don’t really have fun playing the game, because the single player is really short und the cars are randomly mixed. I mean, there is a complete cup just for one of the disliked models of the mustang. After finishing so fast, you only have to play online oder so some Timeattacks. I mean, the event online are good, but multiplayer is bad so I tried die avoid the multiplayer in Games generally. I only play Multiplayer for leveling cars to get the reward but it’s so annoying. In the lobby aber wild people who plays the game 10 hours straight a day with wheel or people who can’t lose and ram. That’s not fun. They also missing a lot of tracks and cars which were in previous Forza. I’ll promise you, the second after I get the last reward, I uninstall the game and never touch it again. There is no incentive to play the game after. Problaby the next Motorsport is better.

@@HDeeRacing I play it on Xbox. There are reward like on PC for emaxple win your first race. This is the only reason why I keep playing. Maybe the word were not right chosen but I hate to play the multiplayer because the rammers. It’s still better than do Timeattacks only. I’m just disappointed for a fullprice Forza and I try to do the best to get the most for the price of this game. The story is just short and random and you don’t even drive one racecar like you said in the video. I miss the endurance race and the other classes like racing in older lemans cars. It’s not bad at all, it’s fun to drive with the cars but not worth a full price Forza Titel.
The handling/fbb is pure caca with wheels compared to any sim racing.
It's actually pretty decent, just the default settings are really bad for most wheels. And with all the sliders it's a pain to set up right. Shouldn't be this way, but if set up well, the FFB is good imo.
Not enough tracks and too many road cars they are too heavy and really slow on track compared to race cars nobody uses them now
The track list is not bad now imo. As for cars, that's personal preference I guess. I'm fine with road cars that can be upgraded, though I also prefer race cars.
Graphics on clouds are worse after one of the latest updates.

FM8 is starting to look like the game it should have been at release. But how T10 has been handling the gmaes terrible launch and development over this year is 10/10 unaccaptable. No hotfixes for fixing major bugs, like the one that made the game freeze when you exited any race. To top that of it feels like 90% of the updates has been to push out content that noone asked for. T10 has ignored the playerbase way to much. The game is better then at release, but its still not the game it should have been on release. A working penelty system, radar, tire and fuel. All of those things is 100% needed in a modern racing game if it wanna call itself a racing game. I honestly doubt that FM8 will recover. They have let the player base down way to much, and ignored us when we scream for changes and fixes.
The AI is something that i in like 95% of the races just turned down to lvl 1 and drove alone just to grind the reward cars i wanted. Racing with Ai is simply undoable, thats how bad it is.
The balance for open classes is in dire need of changes, every class got their 3-5 meta cars that you must drive to be competetive. So the open classes arent really that open, looking at you 90s MX5.....
The newly added challange hub is a good addition, cuz now you dont need to suffer in AI racing to get a car if you want it, but this should also be a choice at release.
FM8 maybe can get to a state where its a good game.... but i doubt it, it suffered to much over this year and now its playerbase is very small, and im having trouble seeing it grow enough to be that well populated so that ratings matter in online matchmaking. Its a shame but i think the harsh truth is that Forza Motorsport is gonna die with FM8.
Big big shame on T10 for treating Forza motorsport like this. The title deserves better, it deserves the same passion as the players have.
I could go on but yea, im VERY disappointed in T10. but atleast they are taking baby steps in the right direction. But im pretty sure its to little and to late.
What ive learned from FM8 tho is to never ever again buy a game pre release, and TDU SC that just had an even worse launch just proves that this is the way to go.
I would agree that the launch of FM was not well managed by Turn10. And I think that's the biggest problem - the management. I think there are a lot of very talented devs at Turn10, but the management decisions led to a lot of the problems we saw for release or still see today.
I still have hope for FM, as it's been steadily going in the right direction. But I can understand that Turn10 has burned a lot of players, who may never return.

The thing that always bemuses me about racing videos on UA-cam is why so many of them show the racing line help arrows. This makes the whole thing totally unrealistic, which is all the more puzzling when reviewers are often talking about realism. Sorry to pick on you for this. Nothing personal, I just reached a point when I had to make this comment that I have thought so many times before buy resisted the urge to comment on it.
I don't know, for me the braking line in Forza games is personal preference. A lot of pros use it as well, because it gives an advantage. I use it mostly as a reference for harder braking zones, because I don't want to learn those for every different car I'm driving. In games like ACC I don't use the racing line at all, because that is where I want the realism to come through.
The game is grindy. Wr need more credits, and,fastser credits.
In the beginning it might feel that way, I don't think it's that bad later on.

@@nikolaig1 You get credits for everything you do in the game. Eventually you'll have most cars you even want to race and at that point credits will just stockpile.

I played this game on Oct 5th last year and felt very very disappointed. Even though I spent like 80 hours in this game specifically on the single-player because there aren‘t many better choices on XBOX, I still think the single-player is too boring even compared to itself and I don't want to touch it again unless for some new cars. I mean as a game named itself MOTORSPORT, the single-player just some almost random playlist that you could just create by yourself. It's good to see that T10 hasn't given up this game yet and keeps adding some great features to it. But right now FM still lacks of content to me engaged. And tuning the FFB for wheels is still a nightmare to me. Right now ACC and iRacing are still a much better choice for me but I will definitely keep an eye on it's evolve. After all, a game that balances arcade and sim well would be a nice way to relax for me.

As a forza fan from the inception for decades now, I am just beyond exhausted by the endless hype announcements and consistently disappointing AF actual mess. So much I tried Gran Turismo 7, having to purchase a PS5 even, and wow, talk about eye opening. I recall when Forza shot past GT and was truly innovating, not they are just left in the dust and hoping to keep eyes from opening to what's been going on while features have been removed over and over and replaced with excuses. All the best folks, when you want to be happy again, and not suffer, come join us, just look for the big smiling gear head girls and boys and all the actual implemented features!
As long as GT7 is PS5 only, it's not going to win over a lot of the Forza players. Some, yes, but not many. GT7 would have a big opportunity to shake things up and bring some real competition if they brought it to PC imo. I would try it then and see how it stacks up, especially in terms of driving feel.
Tried this game when it launched on pc. The wheel support and ffb feel was terrible and being locked to 60fps online is a sin. Until they improve that I wont be buying it.
In my experience wheel FFB is actually quite good, the default settings are just trash sadly. And with how many sliders there are, it takes a long time to get it right.
