You all asked: How are ya'll enjoying the state, and how easy was it to find a good church, co-op, and homeschool group? I want a move out of state in the near future, so any advice would be great!

Yes! I have 2 grown boys, and I so wish I could've homeschooled them like I am their little brothers.

I love the curriculum reviews. I desperately need a good routine. I am a single mom who works part time. I am blessed that I can bring my son to work. I have a hard time getting everything done. Thanks for your ideal routine. I need some inspiration and to know what to let go of.

So I have homeschooled from the very beginning (oldest graduated last year) but there's still things I wish I had done differently. Anyways, love curriculum reviews, especially elementary curriculum as I get ready to dive back in to kindergarten, my next youngest just finished 5th, it's been a bit😀
Lol I hear that. I have some large age groups too! What are some of the things you wish you had done differently? I’d love to know what things to consider.
First year homeschooling and we didn’t “finish” all our curriculum either. My 10 yr old son was doing More Than Words 2 also, then he started Awana mid-year, and it was too much. By mid-May we were both mentally “done” so May 31 was his last day. In my state (SC) we only have to count days, and we’d built extras in last summer through field trips and such, so we had wiggle room.
I love curriculum review videos!! Especially Lamplighter & Masterbooks! Also, have you checked out Generations curriculum? They’re fairly new and not a lot of ppl seem to know about them, but they’re Biblically solid and super affordable!
Good luck ditching the TV- we’re doing that also (we only have 1), I *probably* will bring it back after summer but only for documentaries. It’s so hard because all we watch is educational stuff, but still my extroverted son struggles with entertaining himself when there are not kids around to play with. He had plenty of open ended toys, but goes straight to begging to watch tv. 🤦🏻♀️

I'd love some curriculum reviews on math curriculum and what are you going to use and why you dislike MUS. 😂 like comparing 2-3 curriculums in the video. I'm on the hunt for something good to use overseas! ❤

I wished I had homeschooled from the beginning but all my kids have homeschooled from the elementary years!!! My older kids where 7 and 9!!! My younger kids love to draw when my older kids are homeschooling but it doesn’t last the entire homeschool time!!! We sometimes do beach schooling so we can watch the younger kids play while my older kids read and discuss!!! Travel schooling makes a lot of mess!!! We call it organised chaos!!! I’m a rigorous teacher but I still give my kids a life!!! If we move to Hawaii we have a set place where we would live in!!! With my work it’s best to live in certain areas but we can live there forever!!! We love takeout for ease!!! I get my kids to skip certain lessons if they don’t need to do it and they know it!!! Nothing wrong with finishing off a book at the beginning of the year but if it’s review or switching up curriculum that’s ok!!!

Definitely curriculum! I’d love to know why you don’t like math u see. I was planning on using it this next school year 🙈 It’s been a challenge to pick a math curriculum. I want something that is straight to the point with no “fluff”.

I'm getting rid of our TV in the living room as we'll. My husband will have one in our bed room lol... He refuses to get rid of all of them.
It took so long for my husband to finally agree!

Thank you for the video! You are an inspiration to me and I feel like we would be really good friends in person. lol. I would love to see a video review of the books you discussed awhile ago. I believe some of the topics were fungi, plants, ext. I can't remember exactly what they were and I'll have to go back through my saved videos to find them, I believe it was a good while ago and you may have gotten them from Amazon, but again I'm not too sure. I also can't wait to see your video for More Than Words. I used level one with my 7 year old and by the time he gets to level two I plan on doing level one with my youngest. So I would love to get a detailed review on why that didn't work for you. That way I can decide if it's something I want to scratch off the to-do list in the future.
I just got on a new cleaning routine. I wanted to run by you because so far, it is working pretty well for me. I've been overwhelmed with the cleaning of the home, school, cooking and parenting toddlers and young kids, so I feel like this tip may help you. I made a list of every room in my house and what chores needed to be done in that room. After that I put a mark by all the chores in that room that my son who is 7 could do. Then I would take a 2 week schedule and make a chart. I would have him clean one room a day and list out the things for him to do in that room I would do a different room. The second week we would switch so I could get the things done that he could not reach or could not do and he could do the easier things in the rooms I did the previous week. And helps me because he got his chore money and I was able to get things done in a short amount of time each day and not have one designated day to cleaning. There are some days where we might not get to it and I just pushed that day's work back. I really like things clean and clean often but I realize in the season of life I have to take what I can do LOL
I love that idea for a cleaning schedule! I wanted something similar where maybe we all go to a different room each day and everyone gets a job to get that room clean but I love the idea of splitting up rooms too so more gets done. The collaboration on how our year went will be up next Wednesday so you’ll get to hear about my thoughts on More Than Words then!
