I've seen enough people change from racists full of hate that time away from the influence have made better people who are people who would fight for those people given time. Really. It's that you can't change the past. Survivor's guilt is real.

as an abuse victim, billy and max make ne so fucking emotional. i know how both of them feel, i know billys anger and hurt but also being an innocent littke girl who just wants to run away from it all i also adore how they handled their relationship, how they still show care for eachother but in a twisted way. abuse is compkex, esoecially in a cycle and with family. they Do care for eachother, but billy is also perpetusting his abuse onto max because he has no one else clise to him to taje it out on and he has not been taught the healthy way to deal with that. still, his abuse is not ok, abd max knows that. max is hurt by billy, made to feel afraid and trapped, but she also knows thats her brother and how hurt her brother is, how his anger is because hes constantly abused just like she is. its this really complicated situation of empathy and love and wanting to heal together, to be the family you both deserve, but also knowing you cant change them, that they are abusing you and thats not ok and you need to leave them behind even knowing you are abandoning to fester in their own pain and stay trapped god, i just have so many feelings on them, i love both of them so much and i think theyre a very realistic depiction of the cycle of abuse
