They way they subverted out expectations by not having them in a relationship was a nice change of pace and it didn't feel like forced inclusion at all.
I have to say the scene in the loo when Robin does her reveal was a smidge emotional. It was very well built. We were fed some seeds of a 'will they/won't they' scenario then when Steve goes all in we find out there was actually a reverse love-triangle of sorts - Robin had a crush on a girl who had a crush on Steve who had his head up his....... @@lookatthiscatbro1462 I could have worded it better, but I didn't mean it was jokes and laughs was for people coming out, and certainly didn't mean in all cases. Literally the best scene ever: Erica: “They seem drunk” Dustin: “Why would they be drunk” Steve: “I’m a natural! Check it out!” *falls* Robin: “WipEOuT”
I really loved this group: Steve, Robin, Dustin, and Erica. They all had the best comic timing lolol. The highlight for me in Season 3 - topped by Dustin and Susie's duet lmao.
I love Steve being an ally, which mind you is not very common in the time period that the show was set. Steve and Robin are the best duo ever and you cannot change my mind on that.
At a bathroom scene when Robin came out to him,Steve didn’t even judge and stay by her side. I love him for that fact too.He might be jerk at past but he’s such a great friend and brother to Robin. In S4 he even helped out her love life. They are such a great duo that duffer brothers made.
Steve was always a good guy, even in the first season. Sure he was goofy and cocky, but that was fun. He never teased Jonathan for having a missing brother the way his other rude friends did. He did break Jonathan’s camera, but honestly, Jonathan kind of deserved that. He also felt bad about Barb going missing, not as much as Nancy, but he did recognize that something awful happened and making fun of it is not cool.
I loved how they spent the season setting up that this would be the standard, cliche rom-com love-hate relationship that would end with them together as a couple. Then at the pivotal moment, major plot turn, Robin is gay. Brilliant. Better yet, they then went on with their friendship as if it didn't matter (which it shouldn't).
I have this controversial feeling about Robin being gay. Not that I'm homophobic, I mean, look at my profile picture. She does say that she does like Steve, but she also says she likes girls. Can't she like both? Sorry I'm asking you, it's just I finally decided to say something, and you seem to have good understanding.
@@macilesh3713 Same. I have nothing wrong with her being lesbian but i HATE the fact that they led on to her liking Steve by her being obsessed with him. It led me on to believing that, so when it shifted that was what sucked. I swear Netflix purposely did that. If only they hadn't led me on then great. Either way, i'm gonna get over it but it's still in the back of my head
@@macilesh3713 She didn't mean that she liked Steve in *that* way, she loved him as more of a friend, also the creators of the show determined that she is indeed a lesbian
@@troomtroom_simpuwurawrandn8170 Agreed. I thought the discussion they had was pretty clear that she liked him, but only as a friend. I will also agree with Tina that part of me would have liked to see Robin and Steve together as a couple. However, after I got over my disappointment, I started to appreciate their twist on the classic love-hate relationship. I suspect I'm older than the rest of you and as such have seen that plot mechanism way too many times. Besides, if Steve got a girlfriend we would miss his awkward approach to picking up girls next season.
I was in a way hoping for more of a negative reaction to it. It's the 80s and gay/lesbian people weren't that easilly accepted back then. Of course that would mean they might not be friends anymore. But I wanted her coming out to have negative reactions to some of them to put light on that. Then again I'm a straight guy and don't really feel the need of representation of that. Still a thought
Torrix_ nah I'm happy it was done this way. It's refreshing to see LGBTQ characters being accepted and loved for who they are. I'm tired of all these movies/TV shows that have the gay character not being accepted by their friends or family or even being sent to conversion therapy type of shit. I'm happy that they showed that he accepted her, especially since it takes place at such a dark time. Plus, having all these shows abd movies depict coming out in such a negative way, makes coming out a lot more scary for people who are still in the closet. It took me years to be able to gather the courage to come out because all I've seen in movies and TV shows is gay people not being accepted. I hope that more TV shows/movies will will depict it in a positive way like they did in Stranger things, hopefully it'll help young LGBTQ people with their journey of coming out of the closet.
@@torrix_4595 Steve didn't have a negative reaction because he's a good person, but if she told someone else then it would've been a negative reaction.

At first I wish Robin and Steve were a thing but if you look at the show. There are already 3 different heterosexual couples. I'm not the biggest fan of homosexual anything but a lesbian couple would be an interesting addition.
you know my favorite thing about steve’s character development? he went from calling jonathan a homophobic slur in season one to being an accepting ally to robin when she came out in season three. CHARACTER. DEVELOPMENT.

Who knows robin might be bi
I love how robin came out and Steve was just like ”mk we cool, we chill”
"Holy shit"
I was in a way hoping for more of a negative reaction to it. It's the 80s and gay/lesbian people weren't that easilly accepted back then. Of course that would mean they might not be friends anymore. But I wanted her coming out to have negative reactions to some of them to put light on that. Then again I'm a straight guy and don't really feel the need of representation of that. Still a thought
@@torrix_4595
Will's asshole dad
I love how when they are in danger they still crack jokes and just be themselves
i love how Steve doesn’t make fun of her for liking girls, he makes fun of her taste in girls😂
@@unamusedcaveman9235 that’s not true at all i’m gay and i didn’t know what gay was until i was like 8 and i figured it out before then

Steve’s sailor uniform must be so sweaty he hasn’t took it off this whole season...
Right
Half of the season took place in one day
@@ShijioHirojima567 Yeah but they were underground at that point so he changed outfit after the first episode then never again until his last scene at the video store

they just HAD to show the most wholesome scene before killing him
I love these two so much, their dynamic never gets old lmaoo
they better give robin mad game with the ladies in season 4,, that'd be so badass
YESSSSSSS
sydney moore I mean she could be bi, so something with Steve could still happen, idk sexual preferences are a weird thing
@@impmadness I was confused about that I didnt know if she was lesbian or bisexual
At first I wish Robin and Steve were a thing but if you look at the show. There are already 3 different heterosexual couples. I'm not the biggest fan of homosexual anything but a lesbian couple would be an interesting addition.
Vatris chill
Them bonding over girls is honestly how things should be, friendship goals. Thank you stranger things.
Kat Why its all fun and games until robin says " who can get the girl first "
you know my favorite thing about steve’s character development? he went from calling jonathan a homophobic slur in season one to being an accepting ally to robin when she came out in season three. CHARACTER. DEVELOPMENT.
what was the slur

The friendship between these 2 is by far my favourite dynamic in the show.
Ok but isn’t it cool how a straight guy and lesbian are friends. Like it’s the most non-stereotypical friendship ever and I love it.
I never really thought about it, probably because I'm friends with a lesbian and I'm straight and I see nothing wrong with it
She makes me think of a straight Neil Patrick Harris lmao she's hilarious
Robin and steve can still date, Steve is a single mom.
@@floraslia Maya Hawke (Robin's actress) confirmed that Robin is a full-on lesbian
