Motor Rewind | 300HP DC motor rewind overhaul | Professional Canada motor repair plant
The 300HP DC motor came in with grounded field coil. After full dismantle and evaluation, this motor is supposed to be rewound and overhauled. Overhaul includes deep cleaning, bearing replacement and dynamic balancing. Re-sleeving Drive End Housing and undercutting commutator are also required.

altogether nice job except: if you drop the fields out of the frame without noting which pole pieces and which shims, then after assembly, with clean armature lam, reshim fields with feeler gauge gives equal gap

Have you guys ever had any trouble power washing amatures? Ive heard some places try to not do so because of potentially washing wet carbon onto the back of the comm.

Hello Taylor. Before we wash any armature we will blow out any excess carbon or contamination with compressed air. Once all the debris has been blown out we will steam clean the armature and put it in our oven for dry out. With older armatures we will wash it from a bit of a distance so we do not damage the insulation.
