    The ecuation is simple...the MORE SKILLS, the MORE the SALARY....but, why do you want a Marketing Job when you can be a legend creating something awesome which is yours??!!

      powerful question! It really comes to what your personal goals are, and how much you can learn/ find happiness from being a member of a team. There are some people who absolutely thrive on being their own boss and entrepreneur. There are others who are exceptional at being key members of a team, and find the most joy and fulfillment in being a valuable part of some larger mission. Other times, there may be skills and experience that you can gain from being an employee for awhile before taking on the challenge and risk of starting your own thing.
      If you're ready, and running your own business is important to you, go for it!

    First of all great content. Started watching your videos from the last 4-5 days and its amazing motivation and guidance. Looking forward to a career in marketing, about to start my management studies post graduation. You mentioned something about T-shaped marketing earlier in one of your videos. How can I excel in becoming a T shaped marketer. I am doing a free internship in SEO for a company. I am a beginner in marketing but good in managing people because of my past experience in management.

    There are two types of marketers: who earn good and who earn a lot.
    If you want to earn good, then work every day.
    If you want to earn a lot, then start creating content and share your knowledge with others.
    I usually learn a lot and adapt this knowledge with my acting.
    There are a bunch of places where you can share your content: social media, Reddit, forums, Quora, UA-cam, blog posts.
    When people estimate it, you'll get a high salary.

    My problem is I'm in tech marketing. So they want someone with engineering knowledge. But if I had that I would just be an engineer because it pays better. So I feel stuck:/

    How can I transition from marketing coordinator (broad knowledge of all aspects but no specialist in one particular area) to marketing manager / strategist / growth marketeer? I already have some team coordination experience and people say I have a high EQ which is a big plus. I feel like I lack SOME management skills OR some specialist skills. How do I love forward?

    • @LevelingUpOfficial
      @LevelingUpOfficial  4 роки тому +1

      Great question! You could go many paths really. Perhaps you can focus on learning management and leadership, and build relationships and a team of specialists to fill in the gaps. Or you could pick a few things to begin mastering. And of course, you could do a little of both paths together ;)

    Nice video eric. It makes sense all you say. But what about getting your FIRST digital marketing job? I want to land my first seo job in an agency but i have no experience at all. So my plan is to get some free online certificates (from google and semrush courses) and start my own blog, but then what's next? In my country, the unemployment rate is insane so I know that if I apply to job posts on linkedin I'm gonna waste my time because there is a lot of people with waaay more experience than me. So what can I do? Should I email the seo manager of every agency I can find offering them advice on something related to their websites and later asking them for an internship? Another issue is my resume, do you think getting a small blog started and a few online courses is enough to 'impress' interviewers to give me an entry-level job?

    • @LevelingUpOfficial
      @LevelingUpOfficial  4 роки тому +2

      Finding the first job to get the experience can be exciting and challenging! That's great that you're approaching it from the lens of learning as much as you can. I made a video that talks about this here: ua-cam.com/video/yTcNyuAks2M/v-deo.html
      I hope most of the things are still relevant in your country as well, but let me know what you think!

    So how do you showcase what you learned If your employer doesn't let you do anything? I have been interning at an agency for about a month and already I am finding times that I am out of work because I already finished it and I am just working part-time. They are literally passing me back and forth to different teams because they "have no work". They have work but they only wait till they have small tasks and then they give me those. I even asked the CEO if I could just run some boosted posts for like $5 to $10 a day and he just said no. What do I do?

    • @LevelingUpOfficial
      @LevelingUpOfficial  4 роки тому +2

      If there's no work to be delegated to you, then use that as an opportunity to learn and expand your skills. You can start using this as an opportunity to find your next position, go above and beyond at your current position, start teaching other people what you're learning about marketing, or start testing organic content ideas. Don't give up, this is a good opportunity to learn how to be proactive, and come up with solutions even if no one is asking you for them. Keep polishing until you figure out one that they will adopt.

    Great video ! One question. I currently have a bachelor's degree in international relations and 3+ years of marketing experience (Wix web design, SEO, brand collateral, E-commerce platform management, constant contact, etc) at a diagnostic lab in the healthcare space. I'm having trouble finding a new marketing job where I can make at least 80-100k. Any suggestions where I could go with my experience? I've been using LinkedIn.

    The reason many marketing graduates struggle is that they think they don’t need to learn other skills and instead complain about recruiters asking for an “unreasonable” set of skills on some LinkedIn post and then claim LinkedIn is “Useless” because nobody likes their posts. Sure complain but there are people out there that will fit the bill, so never think you’re done learning after college/Uni 😁
