Happy New Year!
Thank you!!!! Prefect! You're video helped me and I bought solo bonfire 2.0 tonight! :)
You are very welcome! I’m so glad it helped and congrats on your new Solo. Let me know if there are any other videos you want to see!
@@BartlowsBBQ I saw black mats for it. Do I need one? I plan to travel with it.
@@jenro3313 The black handles are good mainly for the cooking system. The circular black mat is for the pizza oven if that’s the item you are talking about. In that case, those are needed. I think for traveling with a Solo, bringing the base, cover and purchase the handle for easy moving.
Would like a solo stove pit that many people can sit around - will use it intermittently - would you get a Yukon 27 inch diameter or Canyon 30 inch. If I purchase the Yukon will there be a big gap when using it with the surround? Will the gap look strange?? Many thanks!
For the most part, you will have a similar experience between 27 vs 30 inches. The Solo Stove sits nicely in the surround with appropriate space. You might start without surround to see how you like it and what accessories you might want overt time.
Does the heat spread out good? Does a heat deflector work well was debating if it’s needed?
Heat deflector works very good and brings toward the feet more.
What diameter is your firepit stone paver circle the chairs are on? Is it big enough?
It’s 12 feet from end to end. It comfortably fits 6-8 people depending on the type of chairs you have. We are a family of 4 and it’s perfect size especially for our size backyard.
What if it’s seasoned softwood??
You can do both. From my understanding, softwood burns faster than hardwood.
@@BartlowsBBQ I figured. I always get a kick out of people who say that softwoods like pine is not any good, lol. Any wood will burn as long as it’s seasoned. I actually like burning softwoods in fire pits. They always burn to ashes.
Check the diy heat deflector that I posted on my channel
thanks for watching
I watched your earlier videos and then came to check out your most recent but you still fail to show examples of what not to do.....or what it should look like and not what it shouldn't look like
Thanks for watching and always appreciate the feedback. Assumed explaining the things to avoid is the advice needed.
Can not give that much heat if you are sitting that close
Heat diffuser puts out the best heat when seating. But, it gives out heat just fine without it.
Is that a Bonfire or a Yukon?
This is a bonfire
I’ve been an avid fire pit person my whole life. Was at a party this last weekend and saw one of these for the first time. At first glance, it’s beautiful, but quickly found it just for looks. It puts out absolutely zero heat to anyone sitting around the fire. Great for people with little kids. They could roast marshmallows without getting burned. They could actually put plastic bowls on the mesh table attached to the top and they not only wouldn’t melt, but they weeny even warm! If you wanted heat, you had to stand next to the pit and feel heat about 3 1/2-4’ up. Worthless for anyone sitting around the fire. The fire was just for looks.
Thanks for sharing your experience
I believe they have an attachment that disperses heat outwards vs upwards now. I haven't tried it it was just on a video I watched.
@@bknuettelYup, it’s called a deflector. Was thinking about getting one for my dad’s bday.
I'm kind of shocked to see how many people have this issue. I'm a new solostove owner and after seeing this comment multiple times I was surprised at how much heat is emitted outward. We have ours set on our concrete patio against the house and the entire 12'x12' area is warm in comparison to the open backyard area farther away. Just my experience with it so far.
What do you mean yours puts a lot of heat outwards? There is a circular frame option. Almost looks like a table that is around it. Little kids can stand there and touch the table. It’s not even warm to the touch. I set a chocolate bar on it, just inches from the flame and it didn’t even melt. There is zero heat put out. You can get a deflector. That blocks one side though and only radiates heat a couple of feet.
