I'm glad someone is finally talking about this thing. The dps numbers are kinda cracked and the buff to your melee is nuts.

the thing that would push this over the edge would be a catalyst where it reloads your mag whenever you hit a target when the perk is active so you can have a dps loop of melee-shoot x 4-melee and so on.
So like demolitionist but instead of a grenade a melee would refill the mag? If so that would probably make this meta I’m looking to try this with second chance on titan so you’ll get a weaken and radiant then I’d probably reload cancel swap to an auto loading explosive light rocket but if it had a catalyst like that the dps would be a good bit better without the reload cancel
Nah all it needs is the origin trait that came with the Dawn weapons where you reload on melee hit.

Been rocking this for the nightfall with peregrine and it's pretty darn fun! 1 shotting champs is always satisfying.

It helped me through most of the campaign the rework is nuts imo
I think this would be good with song of flame since bastion would be applying scorch on each hit while in super along with infinite melee spam

I noticed you using in another video the other day and knew something was up. As a Titan main, I am going to have to play around this myself.
It feels fitting that, not only are the Saint-themed weapons from Season of Dawn coming back, but so is the memorable, Bastion exotic. Really hammering home how integral Saint will be in this Episode.

Welp might be running this on my prismatic liars handshake hunter build! Sounds like it might be wickedly overpowered!

You mentioned hunters and titans but no warlocks with rain of fire? It's my go to with any build centered around fusions/linears and that's free radiance just with a kill of either or
basically one two punch and trench barrel in the bastion
Very likely the highest damage special weapon atm if you take out still hunt with celestial and merciless which requires a kill to do max damage instead of a melee hit. Used it quite a bunch in GMs on my prismatic warlock with 3 range melees.
Forgot about this buff, if Titans are melee only might as well use this to burst everything down
A bunch of armour pieces seem to have been reworded in Final Shape also. My no backup plans doesn’t eat my melee charge anymore.
This will be interesting with the new strand gloves for titans.
I use Bastion with Peregrine Greaves. Never went back.
Currently trying to craft a build with the bastion, the judgement of kelgorath glaive and winters guile. The setup is insane but the timer on the buffs is very unforgiving and tedious to keep up.

Bastion + Perigrine Greaves on Prismatic Titan for the W.
This would be good on a pure Strand Titan with the Wishful Ignorance exotic. 4 melee charges that get stronger with each hit, plus Bastion and then banner of war on top. Seems promising.
Seems like a desperate attempt to fix titans without actually fixing titans.
@@porterde08 it's Prismatic mainly that needs fixing. Even just swapping out a couple aspects would help so much. Swapping out unbreakable for Bulwark and Swapping diamond Lance for tectonic harvest would be awesome we already know they ain't giving us Banner. It sucks that Bungie is scared of having the "tank" class be a tank 😑.
@@SonoftheKing316 Wishful and Bastion don't stack well as you have to activate the perk every melee and it takes just a bit too long to activate before talons disappears. Plus Wishful is still way too weak in the damage compartment compared to Wormgod and Syntho and those have a strong secondary effect each. You might get more frenzy blades with Wishful but in the end you still will deal more with a Wormgod or Syntho by the end. Also tectonic got nerfed and diamond got a massive buff and is actually good unlike before and works really well for the subclass.
Demo would also be better than Bulwark you get like 10% increase grenade recharge and a melee buff that doesn't stack fully anymore (Only reason you'd even use it is for peregrine with hammer strike since that's the only exotic it still fully stacks the effect with).
Hardlight has been crazy in pvp

TBH, my impress of new Bastion is: it's better just melee with one-two punch shotty due to charge time.

A gun no one can aim? I watched people try to use it in crucible and they miss every time. Bastion has always been a try hard meta weapon till it’s nerf like how anarchy used to be.
Why on earth would you ever use this gun in the crucible? It’s dumb easy to use in pve but it’s clearly not intended to ever be brought to pvp.

The rework is good but why not throw a catalyst on top of it? If they’re gonna work on an old weapon might as well throw in a catalyst.

I miss Bastion. Used to use it in PvP all the time, on my Hunter, until Bungie nerfed it into the ground, like everything else I've loved. Lol

Does this work with Liars Handshake. I’m still rocking the arc hunter combination blow liars handshake setup which is still cracked by the way but I’m all for making it even better.
One two punch shotguns were the recommended before. Sounds like this is 1,2 punch on steroids. Land all the shots and melee away! Might be perfect for the build. Need to try it myself.
@@joshmiller9317 I tried it and didn’t feel any noticeable effects. I’m also only 1990 so I’m not doing end game stuff yet which may make the difference.
@@mustang9549 me neither. I'm around the same as you and play solo. I'd say if the first punch kills a target in a nightfall after the effects of bastion instead of needing 2, it's worth using.

@@ballpython365It blows this crap out of the water, no contest. They had server issues yesterday, and hooked everyone up with huge gain boosts to compensate. Bungie has never remotely done anything like that, despite having issues very regularly, and even flat out removing hundreds of dollars in content from the game.

So when I hit "don't recommend" and they keep recommending, I'm going to comment my opinion as anyone is allowed to in a public setting.
