Chigg, you should consider getting a thermal ir camera adapter for your phone or maybe a set of night vision goggles WITH thermal imaging, so you can see the heat signatures of things around you. I'm thinking a thermal camera of some type (or goggles) would set your mind at ease knowing it would reveal the heat signatures of snakes and other critters that might be difficult to see when exploring all those caves.
Chig is one of those people you could spend hours listening to and never get tired. Kinda like someone that lived through the dust bowl. So much knowledge.
Those old Indian grinding stones were cool! I need to start watching more of your vids in Arizona. Beautiful scenery. Really enjoyed the still pics at the end. Thanks
Hey, Beau! Glad to see you in my home state! I'm from Flagstaff. There's some ice caves and lava tubes you can explore, and if you go by Meteor Crator, you could find some small meteorites with your detector. If you go down Yarnell Hill down to Buzzard Mine, and it's a full moon, you can see the ground covered with sparkling iron pyrite! Beautiful!! Don't forget to look UP in the sky at night, we have such clear air and high altitude, you can see a ton more stars than other places.... You can see the Milky Way really well! Also, remember to breathe thru your nose, not your mouth at high altitude. You won't get out of breath so easily. Have fun!
Love your adventures Chigg. You are brave trekking on your own and totally insane going into caves and mines! You wouldn’t even get me sleeping in the truck!
Next time you're out in the Arizona/Nevada area, you should meet with Jeff Williams (if you know who he is). Just a thought, but I'm sure he can take you to some beautiful gold bearing areas, show you some incredible caves and mines, and answer all of your questions about the rocks/minerals in the area (since he's a geologist, on top of being a gold prospector and UA-cam personality).
Oh! Chigg you make me a nervous wreck, but yet I'm always here to watch. I watch for those snakes, and keep telling you to stay out of those holes. LOL
One again a great Video. You could visualize the women in that creek bed grinding the corn and chatting and laughing away. A can at 2feet is good digging LOL.
I love living in a state with so many beautiful hiking trails and so much to explore with all the amazing artifacts and history. Thanks for sharing! Cool channel! Following!
I'd like to see you head out to Cerro Gordo in Death Valley. I think the young fella who owns it would be happy to see you and that you'd enjoy detecting and exploring the town and mines.
I ordered a chiggs army thrunite flashlight from amazon and just got it in the mail. Im layin in bed with my flashlight watching your videos like a kid haha.
DUDE !!!! that is some awesome terrain.... would love to spend a couple days there just exploring Thanx Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE see ya on the next
Great video! Always hope you will find a huge nugget, bunch of nuggets, at least something ! Besides cans and pull tops.. Care of those mines, they look.as if you farted loud the whole thing would come down!
I like pecking on rocks to see what the center looks like. Sometimes I collect some to polish. I enjoyed your video brother. Looking forward to meeting you again some day
At 2:20 when you panned over the mortars it looked like a pestle laying there. The cylindrical grey rock. Did you find any of those? I haven't watched the rest of the video yet, but I had to point that out. I love your videos 👍
Awesome video chigg. Great hiking footage an cave exploration to. Just wish they were full of gold for ya. Of course if they were, I'm sure you wouldn't be filming it till you get it all out. Just might start another gold Rush. Lol. Catch ya on your next hiking adventure. As always safe and happy hiking chigg.😁👍👍
Love the video man. I hope one day you will do a giveaway on your awesome flashlights. Alot of your follower would be interested in that. Thanks for the awesome video as always.
Cracker jack it looks like or flowing springs . Most the mines out there and doll baby were silver mines they found gold but not enough to make a profit.
0:29. Ive seen it b4.. Like i said it mivghty looks like quicly dried aquantic homes. Then it hardened.. maybe smoothed our corral reef might had been there... you did say calcium deposit.. corral id basically a calcium deposit... two ideas
I’m sure it has been covered many times in the comments but those weren’t grinding holes. They are completely natural from water erosion in soft material rocks.
Rock at beginning is most likely travertine deposited by a past water feature. If the creek had a slight blue or green tint to it, that is the travertine in the water.
Az has an amazing variety of colored rocks you can see that by looking at folks yards say well anywhere only a few places old sun city they paint their yards kind of silly but I worked a rock mine out by lake pleasant had a hawaii volcano name it had at least 6 different colors
if there were any acorns in the area all those millennia ago, being next to the river is necessary. they would hull the acorns, bury them in the sand/soil directly next to the river(where it stays wet) in order to leach the tannin out of the nut. it takes a long, LONG time. we tried it once, and changed the water maybe, 20 times over the course of a couple of weeks, and still couldnt use them.
You are the definition of a life well lived sir.
Chigg , You are so blessed to be able to travel to all of the places that you bring to UA-cam . Thank you for sharing your adventures with us .
That is exciting when you found the grinding holes!
Rhyolite. Volcanic ash , miles thick ,
got wet. Time + Presure made Rhyolite.
Love your stuff ,Chigg...
Ya know, this stuff reminded me of the stuff you see around Pompeii, but I did not know the name for it. Thanks.
I hope you enjoy this video.

Thank you Chigg! I really enjoy your videos! Especially when you’re in Arizona. The desert is awesome.
Thanks Chigg, most dont realize how physical this exploring is. It is, but worth it👊 . thankya brother
Those grinding boulders were awesome... I wonder how many generations it took to wear the stone down that far?
I'd have to run my fingers over them to be sure but they looked like solution cavities to me, not grind stones.
Looks volcanic. Like Tuff or pumice. Or maybe part of a lava tube.
Thanks sir,for sharing the video and that is a beautiful place,,,grasias again!!! Amigo!!!!

Hey Beau, I think that type rock at the start is called Tufa- a limestone type.

What do you do if something throws rock back love you CHiGG
Chig here in Tn we call that a creek but I will admit I'm not sure where the line is drawn between creek and river.
I like pecking on rocks to see what the center looks like. Sometimes I collect some to polish. I enjoyed your video brother. Looking forward to meeting you again some day

Yes Chigg they can track you but only if your phone has signal, if your out of cell coverage then good luck finding you!
Thank you for the adventure.
Wow, that's awesome! No stones that were used for the grinding? Once found pottery pieces outside Taylor, AZ.
At 2:20 when you panned over the mortars it looked like a pestle laying there. The cylindrical grey rock. Did you find any of those? I haven't watched the rest of the video yet, but I had to point that out. I love your videos 👍

They also used to pound rocks and get the gold out of them in holes like that.
Where in Arizona? Looks like it’s close to me, looks like a fun hike too 😁
Nice places. I was just in AZ for a couple of days. it's beautiful.
Another “aye aye yai” adventure. You know, come to think of it, most Aquachigger adventures are. But never-the-less I’m still here for the kitten.
Awesome video chigg. Great hiking footage an cave exploration to. Just wish they were full of gold for ya. Of course if they were, I'm sure you wouldn't be filming it till you get it all out. Mogollon Rim...yes, Chigg, small for a river, but just right for a creek...!
Hi!! Great Find😊
Cracker jack it looks like or flowing springs . Most the mines out there and doll baby were silver mines they found gold but not enough to make a profit.

Purple rock looks like it'll break easy :)
You have more guts than me Chig, no way I’d go in that hole alone!👍
I’m sure it has been covered many times in the comments but those weren’t grinding holes. They are completely natural from water erosion in soft material rocks.
Boy that sure does look like gold 👍👍🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing!
I have really enjoyed your time in the west
Rock at beginning is most likely travertine deposited by a past water feature. If the creek had a slight blue or green tint to it, that is the travertine in the water.
That looked like a petrified tree stump (something must have scared it!)
Love these videos
That was a late season cold front that went through, very very cold, light dusting here in the higher elevations in San Diego, be careful!
Az has an amazing variety of colored rocks you can see that by looking at folks yards say well anywhere only a few places old sun city they paint their yards kind of silly but I worked a rock mine out by lake pleasant had a hawaii volcano name it had at least 6 different colors

Very interesting wilderness + charming host.
Those holes are from pebbles getting stuck in a swirling currant and drilling those holes in the rock . Not at all for food prep.
First time ive seen Native Indian grinding stones, interesting.
cheers from New Zealand
Awesome !!!!!
thank you enjoyed watching your Video
Awesome!
Ya you’ll see me on the next one lol thanks for sharing 👍🏻👊🏻

Little known fact, Samsquach are attracted to any object that is purple in color. As usual good video
