Searching For Kenny Veach : Picture Canyon -The M Cave - Darkness Closing In

- Опубліковано 10 гру 2021
- This is the third and last video of my second search of this trip looking for the missing UA-camr Kenny Veach who disappeared in the Mojave desert some years ago not far from Las Vegas, Nevada.
In this video, I search Picture Canyon (M Cave canyon) one last time working on the mystery without any clues hoping to find some evidence I may have missed on my first visit there last spring. I do find some wonderful Indian paintings on the rock walls and even discover the quarries where the Indians dug the red ochre from the earth to make the paint for their artwork. I also realized that the points way up high where Kenny saw the bighorn sheep in his video might be a good place to continue the search. I was able to climb up near there but it was a little too tall and the night moves in and I had to scoot.

About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my UA-cam "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.

Another thing to keep an eye out for on these journeys that may not move far from Kenny's last location is his handgun. Animals would scatter human remains and even disperse clothing in the process but the gun would likely be left where it last lay and is heavy enough to not move much unless in an heavy wash.
Good point! Been thinking about what kind of evidence could be found if Kenny was still out there. 8 years is a while but definitely a gun would be an incredible find and puzzle piece to the mystery.
@@liverenders We see all the tin cans that are just laying around on the surface after decades in old camps. So if he did meet his demise out there the gun is probably right near where it happened.
The problem comes trying to figure out if he was out in the open at the end or tucked away in a comfortable place.
The gun would also be able to answer another question. If no round was fired then he more likely died from misfortune and not suicide. Not a definitive answer but a good clue to what might have happened without having a body.
Good point 👌
@@socket_error1000 What’s the story behind this?
@@monke7532 Its an older missing person case from November 2014. If you search Kenny Veach you will find a lot of videos about him and the mystery surrounding his disappearance. I think there is even a Wikipedia page for him. There is even a bit of paranormal/area 51 intrigue for those who lean towards conspiracies.
There are a lot of good content creators like Aquachigger here who have made some great hiking videos centered around searches for him.
Basically Kenny seemed like a great guy who loved life and loved hiking the desert in Nevada and after a weird encounter with a cave shaped like an M that freaked him out he was challenged to find it again and document it. After a failed attempt to find it again he went out a second time and never returned.
He had suffered from depression so this has led some to think he committed suicide and the M cave story was all a hoax. Most of us have had bouts of depression and not killed ourselves. Being depressed is pretty normal for middle-aged single men (He was 47) so I am not convinced that was the case. He just seemed too excited about what he was doing to be at a point of cashing it in. Normally people that depressed stop doing things they love because the depression stops them from getting any joy from it. He loved hiking and kept doing it. There also weren't any of the other normal signs that often go along with older people getting ready to commit suicide like giving away favored possessions. Because of this I don't feel strongly about the suicide narrative.
He was a skilled hiker and knew the region's challenges, wildlife, and dangers well so would often hike light and liked to push himself. As they say it only takes one mistake and you can find yourself in a lot of trouble. I think this is most likely what happened to him.
Here is the last installment of my search this fall. I hope you enjoy the video and if you have any places that you think I should search on my return this spring, please let me know. Thanks for watching!

19:08 on the right side is a perfect M-Cave with a central pillar!
I came for Kenny but stayed for the pictographs. They were fascinating and I'm so happy you took the time to show them to us.
@2:15, Here in Louisiana, the prehistoric Indians used hematite, and limonite(red and yellow) for pigments. I’ve found grinding stones, in ancient villages, with residue from both materials, together. They come from iron ore.
After watching this very interesting series of videos and trying to put myself in Kenny's frame of mind If I was going out there for my last ride... id go to the highest point where I can see everything around me and suck in the last of the world I loved to hike and explore. I would probably be facing the sunset which would be the closing of my chapter in life. Everybody travels the valleys because its the easiest path. From what i have read this guy could be extreme and I believe he may have went the hardest path to his final destination. He will be where you lease expect him to be.
The flaw with your reasoning when getting into his state of mind is that you're still thinking of life as something you're going to miss and having the desire to drink it in one last time, and that's probably not the sort of thoughts a suicidal person has. That's not to say that he isn't possibly at a favorite or beautiful spot. If he didn't necessarily plan to die that day, and was just going somewhere he liked to try to escape a bad state of mind, and then if that didn't help he could've just decided he'd had enough.
That’s so incredibly vague. You’re not psychic.
15:32. It looks like you're pointing to the M cave. The very bottom of the M can't be seen because of the ridge in front of it. But the 2 tips of the M look nearly darn perfect!
That does look like a perfect capital M
I saw this also...it is the most perfect M formation I've seen so far in these videos.
Chigg, Thank you for "taking me along" on this adventure. I truly enjoy it. Haven't seen twilight/ sunset of the desert since I was a young kid (except photographs) it's just stunning. Be safe 😉👍

The American landscape and wildlife is so under-rated imo.
Im from Australia and have prob seen more of American arid areas that Australias but I was blown away by the beauty and diversity of Arizona and New Mexico some of which were similar to the ladscapes shown here.
You can never capture colour correctly on film so I was overwhelmed by so many pastal colours of every hue and the soft painterly (water colours) impressionist quality (due to the dotted sage brush and succulents and grasses).
Then you have all the vast open areas, messa and mirages.
Was so soectacular. Felt like I was in a dream!
Are you in prison?
@@xeldinn86 no, family member that lived in New Mexico died so really didn't have a reason to go to that part of the US.
@@richardconfer9384 ? What may that be in "English"
on 1:46 there is a mason symbol on the rock, which does not look natural. Also, after reviewing Kenny's Video, he clearly says the cave he's looking for is on the actual flat ground. He states that it is at foot level and is easy to miss. I figured it would save time climbing the mountains and instead look more behind bushes and walls along the canyon
Looks like normal cracks and fissures to me. Good points on the cave location.
It’s the compass you speak of if it is human activity could have been nothing more than a trail marker
Lol mason symbol? Yall are reaching now
That's a beautiful place to hike, I don't think my old legs could do that much climbing and hiking at my age , so I enjoyed watching you do it. Thanks Chigg
The last bit of the hike out, with the sunset and the moon in the background, in the twilight, THAT was a beautiful scene right there..........
When you drop down a slot canyon bear in mind you may descend easily but may not be able to re-ascend. This becomes very important if the next descent is too far a drop and you are now in a pickle.
That's something that always gets my goat, you walk miles into a remote area and come up on pictographs or paintings and someone just has to tag it. Man you really traversed a lot of ground up there! But hat's off to you Beau. Thanks for every effort you've made searching for Kenny. 👍🎧🇺🇸
Pretty sure I remember Mr Ballen telling a story about someone who died that way.
Edward Abbey has a great story of ending up in a pickle like that.
I dropped a jar of pickles once. Omg.. what a sticky mess!!
@@torchandhammer Yes, I enjoyed Edward Abby’s stories as well. Written before b.s. became the norm.
I've been enjoying these so much! My dad's the oldest of four boys and he and my uncles are addicted to "exploring," as they call it. My dad even worked with the Arizona and Utah BLM's doing archeological digs. We're from Salt Lake and have explored all over Utah, northern Arizona, eastern & southern Nevada, even down into the deserts of California south of Vegas. I appreciate you asking people not to disturb the pictographs.
I'm also enjoying the comments from people who aren't familiar with this terrain. It really is so deceptively rugged and beautiful. There's a giant, amazing pictograph in a cave near [REDACTED] that took my buddy and I THREE attempts to find in a canyon that *seemed* easy to navigate. Even though I'd been there a few times, I still got lost trying to find it with my uncle! It's a gorgeous corner of the world, but it'll kill you without a second thought, haha.
Thank you, and good luck!
Those hills are forbidding, yes, but even more so, beautiful.
That place is truly a geologist's dream landscape - it is truly stunning, with a new surprise around ever corner. And if there was ever a place that one risks twisting an ankle or breaking a leg, that's it!
Umm. I am not sure you realise but chigg is searching for ‘Kenny Veach’ (the youtuber, ‘snakebitmgee’). He has been missing there for over 6 years now and is is unknown what happened to him. There are a lot of conspiracy theories about what happened but none have been proven.
@@victinistealth5756, yes, I know. If a man is determined to kill himself discretely in such a massive, rugged environment, he'd have a near endless supply of locations that he'd just about never be found.
Thank you for sharing the paintings. Worth the journey,! Awesome adventure, thanks for bringing us along.
Great series! Those rock paintings are amazing.
for sure
As a young person with a spinal cord injury thank you for showing the pictographs. They are so amazing and I can’t believe idiots would draw on them 😭
How are you now ? Are you ok now?
Chigg, I love all your videos but my very favorites are when you are hiking. I have COPD and a rare form of anemia that leaves me breathless so this is the only way I'll ever get to see these things. And, I might add, you always do such an excellent job of giving details and history. Stay safe!!
"Stay safe"? Why would he not want to be safe?
@@HiTechOilCo that doesn't even make sense. You need help.
I also have an extremely rare form of anemia called aplastic anemia! Hope you’re well!
@@nayfern The anemia I have is myelodisplastic anemia with ring siderblasts. I probably spelled that wrong! My dr. has found a shot taken every 3 weeks (if needed) called Reblozyl that really ups my hemoglobin. Hope you are doing well also......this is a not so nice thing we have!
Nice exploration. Hey, I had to stop and go back for a 2nd look at 19:00 because a shadow caught my attention. If you look about a quarter the way down the frame, and just less than halfway from the left, there's a shadow on the rock that looks, to me, like a person sitting on horseback. I know it's not that, but it looks so much like that, that it made me do a double-take.
لماذل لم يلاحظه المصور ؟؟
That's a crazy eye you have...
Thanks so much for this and the last series of the M cave search. One thing I've noticed spending much time hiking in Northern Nevada is that there is so much that can be missed just 10 feet off the trail. The rugged desert can naturally hide so much. If you make it back, try other canyons not mentioned by Kenny as he may have intentionally masked the true whereabouts..
I saw some strange stuff out there on your hikes Chigg. I thought it looked like a huge M down at the bottom of the last Canyon in the background but ground level and in the center @17:09. It's sitting in a shaded area as well. Just thinking what if the blocked Cave Sean looked at was done to throw people off the real location. You have to make another trip in the Summer next year or Spring whatever you think best. There is a lot going on Inter-dimensionally. Thanks my friend for such great content.
If you find a handprint in Australia you know there is a water hole nearby. Most paintings are telling folks what food is available in the area. Pretty universal I read. At least I now know why you are not contracted to a record company LOL.
Got to love a desert sunset and some guy marching along singing cadence.
A life well lived Beau! I'm envious Sir. Thank you for sharing.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Kenny said "If I don't find it again, (the M cave) I will just continue hiking over mountain after mountain to the North of the canyon".
And he planned on solo hiking for 3 days, covering about 40 miles and crossing through the same canyon he found the cave.
Tbh I think it's best if he isn't found, seems to be his wishes, but.. it is interesting.
I grew up hearing the Rawhide theme on what is essentially a daily basis... Talk about a memory I hadn't though about in a while! Thanks Chigg!
Me too and I had a huge crush on Clint Eastwood!!
man i love you bringing us along on your searches. you crack me up!
Glad you like them!

If you have the charger or anything plugged into the camera the movement of the cord can wear on the socket and Trigger it to come on. Try it for a while with nothing plugged into it and see if it still does it. Love the series brother, be safe out there. Jeff in Texas
The yellow bird song is what my dad would sing to me when I was a little kid. He said they sang that marching in Vietnam. I’m stunned to hear someone else recite it.
Enjoy the cold ‘refreshment’ Chigg, really loved this series and yes, Rowdy Yates in Rawhide one of best memories of childhood. Wishing you and your wife plus the animals a relaxing and peaceful Christmas holiday.
Don't forget Wishbone
@@ramp7t Who could? I loved that show and Bonanza too, happy days.
So, drawn here by a random ig video on my Facebook feed about missing UA-camrs and find this video and when I'm done watching it I see it's only 7 hours old. Creepy. Great video. Makes me envious as I'm stuck in Nebraska and there isn't anything like that here.
I feel like he might be high up or tucked away in some small cave. He knew the area pretty well too.
@@PabloDiablo682 does everything have to be a conspiracy? Isn't it more likely he got lost or hurt?
@@captaindein33 his girlfriend said he most likely committed suicide.
Wow... Some of those colors from Mother Nature at the end of the video as you're hiking back to your truck, are absolutely stunning. That orangish glow on you, while you sang the cadence... it was so surreal. It almost looked like it was added in editing or something, which we know isn't the case. That part of the country is just so beautiful and I love being able to go out and spend time there sometimes. Even if you're just going out to get away for a little bit and camp a couple nights, you will come back refreshed and grateful.
But... I do have to admit that there's something weird about being out there. Just this weird vibe that I get when I'm there. I can't really put my finger on it but it just gets kind of eerie sometimes, like I'm being watched (it's far more than the drones or military watching). Anyway, thank you so much for sharing with us! Absolutely love these adventures that you take us on with you. Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to the next adventure.
Another great M-cave search video. Thank you for doing this "research" and for looking into the cave systems to see where Kenny is now.
Thank you for letting us tag along, I have genuinely enjoyed this adventure. Always love your uploads, & I appreciate all your efforts to bring them to us.
I started one video just to check it out. Here I am, 5 videos later. This stuff is great. Tides me over until another weekend out in the mountains. Gotta make this channel known. Great stuff.
Thanks for the Kenny Veach series. Very interesting. Look forward to continuation next year!
I’ve watched several of your other videos and you do a great job narrating the find, but this series hooked me on the story and narrative. You do an excellent job treating us like we’re right there. Great job!
Here in the trailer park, Woodrow comes over from next door to watch Chigg on the plasma. He said this was a great video and he approves. Me, I’m just here for the wobbly kitten.
This video truly shows how beautiful the canyons are. Thank you very, very much for all your considerable efforts in making your videos.
That sun looking pictograph could be the supernova recorded back like 700-800 years ago. There are similar ones in Utah and New Mexico that the pueblo people did too. Interesting! Thanks man! Love watching your videos sir!
This series is awesome… I learned a bunch. Thanks
Thank you so much for heading out here Chigg! You are one of my favourite hikers. And for Kenny, you are amazing doing this for him. I hope you find him one day, you will be the man to do it
Since Kenny chose to disappear (we think it was a choice), shouldn't people respect his decision and leave him/his remains alone?
Love you adventure videos! So relaxing, thank you for posting!
Thanks for continuing to return and make these videos. I'm that intrigued with this area now that I'm hoping to be able to visit from the UK when funds and seasons permit. Thanks for the great content in your videos Chigger.
No way, last vid??? I’m loving the scenery and your singing!! 😂😂🤫 Actually, I saw a couple of places that intrigued me and will rewatch for you consideration! Hope you are helping Mrs. Chigg with the Christmas festivities upcoming at home. I sure wish I could be with y’all and your pups, critters, and digging! 🛸🛸😂😂🥰
CHIGG, I'm pretty sure you missed a big gold nugget! It's just above center screen in the wall @ 9:32. If you are back in that area you should get a close-up. Of coarse, it might be gone now that I'm posting this but I couldn't not say anything. Great video...beautiful country!
Its illegal to take mineral from there
Glad I found your channel. Really enjoyed these in search of Kenny videos. Watched them all tonight. So many cool observations you make on the trail.
Coming friends.. amazing work. Good.. steady.. success always.. greetings from Indonesian Traditional Gold Seekers🇺🇸🇲🇨🌸❤️✋👍👍
Does anybody else find it very strange and bothersome that we can't even dig anywhere or get in big trouble? 🤔
@ 16:39 the rocks, brush and shadows create a very interesting image close to the center of the screen just below the cliff you'll be able to see a light colored old man's face and to its left a dark face of a baby infant. It's very cool once you see it you will not be able to ignore it.
Brother I have absolutely LOVED your videos of this beautiful country over the last few days! Thank you and God Bless you!
that old cadence "yellow bird" brought back memories enough to sing along and laugh, thanks brother
The dugout overhangs are where looters have dug out shelters looking for points and other artifacts. It's a huge problem in the SW., especially in southern UT and around Vegas.
So what can be done with the souvenirs? Trade for other stuff or money? What money value do the artifacts have? Just commenting.

Thank you for making another journey out there and taking us on the explore!
Hadn't heard that marching song in over 40 years. Over 45. Thanks for this journey.
Absolutely love these trips. The pictographs are amazing. Wonder how ancient they are. The color of the rocks are so fascinating. Probably alot of mineral in them. So much to see and just not enough hours in a day.
Aquachigger, I admire what you do. Have been a long time supporter of your channel . Be safe up there, lots of dangers in the mountains, meaning the rocks are unstable , weather and lots of critters that can harm anyone . Mahalo for taking us with you there …
Love your whole hiking dialogue thing here. I have some back and hip injuries that have limited my hiking over the last few years. Channels like yours bring me back. I love the western desert, too. #blessings
The twilight video is GORGEOUS!
this is such an interesting series. I watched Kenny's video last night. That does look like the Ram mountain. As you said, he may have been drawn to it.

Very enjoyable series to watch...you have a relatively soothing voice and pointing all the interesting sights along the way. Looking forward to coming back in the spring with you. Stay safe
Your little laugh every few minutes is the best
Loving this series
Absolutely love these videos. Really getting to appreciate the place Veach adored so much. Really admire the effort you're putting in to show us the area and investigate, and searching for clues as to what happened to him and where he ended up. Also, loving the historic facts you share with us and the artwork. Been subbed for a while but just wanted to show my appreciation. If anyone is going to crack his dissapearance wide open you may just be the person to do so. You also have a fun and happy spirit, much like Kenny. Can't wait for you to get back there and carry on with the endeavours. Who knows what you may or may not find. Stay safe out there, take care and all the best.
You are the only one I've ever seen find the pictographs, so cool!!!!!!! Watching now... 💖 I love your explores!!!
You take us to places that we will never get to in our lifetime. We enjoyed your video of the Salt River Cave and the account of the Apache holdouts a few years ago.
This series has been just as captivating. Thanks for sharing your videos!
Been waiting all day, time to back to Maine soon don't ya think ❤
I really enjoyed that trek Chigg, thank you. Take care now.
Awesome trek Chigg! beautiful stone paintings thanks for sharing,Cheers!
You are quite the character, Chigger. I am glad I happened upon your channel. I live in Northern Nevada, different terrain, but I hike as much as I can, as safe as I can. The terrain there is stunning. Truly beautiful! I will be waiting for Spring and another video hike with you.
My first time viewing these past three episodes and am amazed! I can't imagine being there and not getting lost in the moment of viewing every thing and under every rock. Losing track of time and finding yourself stuck in the desert at night, in the cold. How did they survive? Is that you singing at the end? Anyway, thanks for sharing! Totally enjoyed the hike. 😎🥰
7:44 that's either a mule deer, a pronghorn or an ancient camelid like camelops.
Love these videos! Thx for all your hard work in making them!
13:55 as soon as you said he’s trying to tell you something the cave popped up in your camera on the left side near the top. I got chills.

Love this series - were you out there this week? Did you see the really cool conjunction of Jupiter-Moon-Saturn? 🍺🦝👍
Chigg is a national treasure.
Just discovered your channel and what fun! Thank you for the great explores!
The best. Thank you. I am humbled with your fortitude.
Some year ago a video showed where the "M" cave had been covered over with clever rock covering. The person compared the original picture with his on-site one showing the matching between the old & new picture!!! He was able to find the "M" cave location from that earlier picture. Just saying.
Kenny or the other guy said that the rock face had changed entirely at one place, I remember that part. Its the underground tunnels, they are secret. but now we all know about them.
Do you remember where you saw this? I haven't seen any footage like that.
Tag the video or something. Not even kenny gave us a good picture of the cave so who had this original picture??
Seems to me the time of day that Kenny saw his M cave could be pertinent. The way shadows fall over canyon walks can create/enhance shapes that u might not see at other times of the day.

Awesome! Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for taking the time to show us the pictographs! Love those!

Great series Chigg. Some really beautiful scenery. Kinda hate to see it end. Take care my friend 👍
The drones record what they see. Maybe the us government would co operate with a missing person investigation and review the video files of that day.

Chig, I'm so glad to see you out, enjoying yourself and just doing what you wanna do. It's been a kick ass ride being allowed to come along on this adventure with you as there's no way I'll ever make it to those parts in my lifetime. Not on my budget anyway! lol
Yea love coming along on your hikes it’s like I’m right there with ya ! Really enjoy searching with you
Min 14:06 something black staring at you from behind 😂🤞 hell no
Possbility: If Kenny didn't fake his whole game, maybe he knew where the cave was and it lay in the opposite direction from where he signals through gestures in his video. That is, maybe he headed some other way than the direction you took. No?
