Can you technically angle the camera in any direction? Example, the ones in your video, could you angle them pointing straight down if you wanted? Including the AI Pro?
You can't do 90 degree angles, but close. I am guessing the bracket holding it on to the wall allows 75 degrees or so. The wide angle lens does compensate for it, so it almost there.
All of your tagged people will show up under the "Recognitions" menu. If you mark them as person of interest, you will get a notification on top, but it doesn't tag the person in the video itself.

so ive never used the ubuiqit camera/nvr eco system but is there a way with all these detects to send a api call depending on plate or person . or maybe get logging so you can parse all the events and do something based on them. further more.
Yes, you absolutely can. I use Unifi Protect with Home Assistant. One example is this video where I get the G4 Doorbell event and create a custom notification: ua-cam.com/video/sMflKCJhYlE/v-deo.html
Yes the grommit..... One of the biggest gripes I have is the difficulty in being able to get replacement grommets..... Some of us don't always buy new.... My solution, not ideal, is to get your cable right and then use a judicious amount of silicone sealant, as I said not ideal... If anyone knows where to get spares it would be great, support was not that helpful.
This is a good point. Silicone will work well, but a bit messy and tricky to move the camera then. I don't know where you get spares. I will add to my list to ask.
You can get a notification in the Protect app, or you can now also set up a Webhook to somewhere like Slack. Emails would have to be via the Webhook avenue too.
Just an additional note comment (after watching this a second or third time) Would you be able to compare the G5 pro to the G5 bullet? I am just curious in the 3 times more price tag really adds 3 times more value :)
I don't think I will be doing that comparison, mainly due to time constraints. The G5 Pro is a much bigger lens and has the zoom capability. The image is also slightly better, but I would still recommend the G5 Bullet to most people.
Thanks for the comparison, very useful. Can I ask how does the AI Pro detection performs when the car isn't coming directly toward the camera, but more a 45 degree angle to the camera?
The few examples I have of that, it has worked the same. As long as the number plate is visible, you'll need a very shallow angle before the writing is so skewed the camera can't see it.
