    I liked your bird roosting devices on your pole mount and your gate camera, as well as the solar panel. hopefully, they do the job to keep other cleaning maintenance to a minimum

      @LarsKlintTech  16 годин тому

      Yes, they do work really well. I have the occasional bird that manages to land on the camera itself, but it is rare. I still need to clean the panels frequently, just due to dust.

    Personally I’d rather the G5 Turret Ultra with an AI Port. You get more for your money this way, especially when the AI Port is updated to support 5 Protect cameras.

    If you could turn on wide dynamic range or WDR, it may help you with a license plate reading. It also looks like you could potentially mount a camera to the fence post that the gate connects to, and run PVC outdoor conduit back to your network box along the bottom of the fence to get better LPR.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  16 годин тому

      I don't see a WDR setting. Do you know where that is?
      I am definitely looking at options for a gate camera closer to the road. I have more plans down there though, including 240V, so it might be part of that project.

    As always I like your honest opinion in this review. I don’t have the AI bullet as I find it too expensive for the light sensitivity of the camera. I do have the AI Turret that works great for detecting people, cars and animals during the day but does a bad job at night. I had to add some flood lights to detect a car at 20m range. Otherwise it detects basic movement but does not filter out the false alarms. At the same spot I have an old Hikvision 4K camera giving a much clearer image so I hope the AI Port will be at help.

    The Aluminium castings have never been a problem for me, I think they are cast alumininium, which means they can crack if over tightened. I do think it is a case of people over tightening them when they fail. These don't need to be tightened to ridicuolous levels to hold toe cameras securely.
    These AI Camera's are pretty awesome. I think this is one area where Ubiquiti are a little ahead of the competition. The cameras are good quality, they have good optics and good sensors and the detection is pretty reliable. The IR reflection seems to limit number plate recognition at night time, which is where the new LPR camera shines a bit as it has filters.
    I am looking forward to giving the AI Port a try with the G5 Pro's I have. It looks like Ubiquiti plan to be able to support 5 Protect cameras on one AI Port, which should be quite interesting.

      @LarsKlintTech  16 годин тому +1

      Over tightening anything will break it. And as you say, these devices don't need a lot of strength to hold them on.
      Oh, right, is that what the problem is with IR. Someone suggested maybe lowering the frame rate.
      Wow, 5 on one AI Port would make that devices much more appealing.

    • @EsotericArctos
      @EsotericArctos 16 годин тому +1

      @@LarsKlintTech Angles of the cameras do help too, but mostly it is reflections, which wash out the number plate a bit. You could try reducing the frame rate, but I don't think that will make a big difference in your situation..
      Look forward to the LPR camera when you do get one :)

    Maybe if you select less FPS, images will be clearer and the camera will be able to read license plates at night. Great review!

      @LarsKlintTech  16 годин тому +1

      Thanks mate. Possibly. I will try it out. Someone else in the comments mentioned it might be the IR messing with it too.

    Thanks Lars! Looks to be drying up on the farm mate. I am looking to upgrade a G5 Bullet to an AI model as I really want facial and LP recognition. I wonder if the 4K AI cameras assist in better night time LP recognition?

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  7 годин тому

      It's actually very very green for this time of year. The robot mowers have had plenty to do 😊
      The 4K AI camera is possibly more accurate at night, but I can't be sure. I am hoping the AI LPR will solve this.

    Is there an enhancer for this model that could help at night?

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  14 годин тому

      No, only for the G5 Pro and the AI Pro. I think the best option is to get an IR floodlight and put on the post.

    Nice review, but I wonder how it will handle the heat being an all black camera housing in direct sunlight compared with your G3. I am fully aware that UI wants to make their cams recognizable with this black/white color scheme, but I hope they will look into letting the customers choose between these colors. On some cams like the G5 Turret they now have 2 versions so lets hope they will also introduce this on e.g. AI Turret and the non-AI Pro series ;)

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  16 годин тому

      Yes, heat can definitely be an issue here 🫠 We'll see over summer how it performs.
      More and more cameras are available in white or black, so hopefully that will continue.

  • @Snooooozel

    I compared the AI Pro with the AI Turret. Turret is giving out the better image quality. And because of the missing zoom lense you don't need to focus it, the whole picture is sharp.

    • @Snooooozel

      The also makes license plate recognition better for the turret.

    I bought the AI bullet thinking it would be better than some of the others but its junk, it cant even do License plate reading at 20ft at a stationary gate properly. also as far as i know they stopped making the AI Bullet version and only making the better ones due to how bad this version was.
