Looking good so far and i had exactly the same issue with the 89 EXUP I am renovating with the coolant tank pipe falling apart. Your rear subframe looked a bit scarily rusted better double check mine!
Thanks Michael! Yeah the rust was a bit of a shock. I had planned to take it to be blasted to assess it and maybe powder coat it but for the price it was a no brainier. Hope yours is going well!
Nice to see , I have a Genny 1000 and I’m pretty much slowly getting round to doing a similar job myself - mechanically she is sound , but it’s paint and damage to top headlight fairings are the worst bits . I’ll be following closely - and good luck 👍
Hey there Tom. I am enjoying your videos immensely. Could you please let me know what is the liquid you used in the parts cleaner, the pink one? And which concentration ? Thank you and keep them coming :P
The odometer has 60k miles, but that’s not an original reading. A previous owner had made it into a street fighter and then changed his mind. My estimate based on the MOT history puts it about half that just over 30k miles
Hey Tom, really enjoying the video series! It's particularly inspiring given the tiny garage you've got to work with. In which issue of Practical Sportsbikes were you and Ryan featured?
Thanks Stuart! Yeah it’s definitely a humble workspace, and it’s fun trying to work out how to overcome the obstacles! It was a good 5 years ago, June 2015 (issue 56 I believe) around the time the FZR got laid up!
Zdravei kolega ❤
Great stuff ! ...and all done with humour, which is so often lacking in these things 👍
Cheers! Yeah I struggle to take myself too seriously at the best of times. Glad you’re enjoying!
Rusty....🕳️.....great vid mate👌
Cheers mate!
Following keep it up good vids
Thanks Lee!
Great work mate!
And you're doing really well in a small garage with no power. That's exactly how I started. 👍
Nice video again Tom!
Cheers Timon 👍🏻

Glad to hear your making progress Derek. Thanks for your support!

Thanks! It’s Swarfega Jizer, it comes in a 5L can and goes in neat. I’ve used a few and that’s my favourite. Also smells great 😆
Hey, what size Ultrasonic cleaner did you use in this video?
It’s one of the somewhat unbranded ones off Amazon. It’s a 3L one, I like it but I do wish I’d bought a larger one!
From a rusty hole to a grease filled one, oooh er missus.
How many miles on the odometer?
