Wow, that was incredible and again you make it look so easy. I really need to dig out my machine and start making things again. Thank you for posting this up I enjoy watching you sew. Plus I learn something from the video as well.
Nice video. I like the outside fabric. I made a bag similar to this last week and made a mistake on the boxed corners that I think you did as well. When you measure for the corner cut, you need to take into account the one side that has a seam. So you have to add in the seam allowance for just that one side. Doing this will result in corners the same size.
Wow! Just bought a machine and hoping to be able to make my own gear for hammocking etc, really love this bag, extremely well explained videos. Subscribed! Thank you!
Great tutorial and great idea with the lining. I'm not sure, but I guess I would press the corners flat, sew them and then cut the edges off. I haven't tried this but have the feeling this would be a bit easier to do, at least for me.
Waldläufer70 you certainly could do it that way and it would work beautifully. I am thinking about pleating the sides of the bag the next time I make one of these to box the corners (which will be soon, since my husband has already commandeered this one).
I'm looking forward to you next tutorial, then. The bag really looks nice and I understand your husband. I recently got an old Bernina Record from 1962, which is being repaired these days. So, I don't have any sewing machine here at the moment.
Suggestion: when you measure your corners to cut them out, you need to take into account the seam allowance on the one side so your measurements are the same. In other words, measure in equidistant from the fold AND from the side with the seam allowance (and not the raw edge). You will then have corners that box correctly and not have points that need to be trimmed.
You have some of the best tutorials I've ever seen! Thanks for posting!

Thanks! I just made this today, and used a little wool suiting for the lining. My first zipper! It turned out great.

Another amazing Jellyfish original. :) Way to go. Thanks for this neat project video. Respect and regards, Chris AKA kitsapcowboy
Good job indeed. I struggle to master even making the bag with no lining!
Great tutorial and great idea with the lining.
