Rep. Barbara Lee 'troubled' by Gov. Gavin Newsom's Senate comments

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is facing backlash for comments he made on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday about the possibility of having to appoint a replacement for Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
Feinstein has said that she would not run for reelection in California’s U.S. Senate race in 2024. At age 89, Feinstein is the oldest member of Congress and has faced some calls from those in her party to resign as she’s dealt with health issues. She has resisted those calls and said she won't step down early.
