It's been my main keyboard since I moved my computer to my TV (use two) over a decade ago. It's perfect on your lap, cross-legged too, thanks to the built in wrist support/palm-wrest. The battery life is incredible, and the quiet press is perfect if you have someone beside you. I hate the clickity clack of mechanic keyboards, but liked the longer stroke, however, I have grown to love the shorter press of the keys here, it's great to type on. The responsiveness is perfectly fine over its wireless connection. It's having some issues, sensor light goes on and off by itself, driving me nuts, so I'm in the market for another, but will likely buy another. Can't believe its still being made, a welcome surprise to be sure!
It's my favorite keyboard. I regularly get tempted by more expensive ones from Logitech, or I get a nice mechanical keyboard, but after some use I always end up back to the K800. Not sure why, but it just feels like the perfect and most comfortable keyboard to type on I ever used.
@@ITechedUp same here. its 2024 and after 11 years one key dosn't work properly. Just bought a new one difficult to get and if very expensive 200€-270 €: BEST KEYBOARD EVER. What always sucks after restarting the computer, Backlight is on LOW always. Have to turn High manually each time :(

I have this keyboard for over 8 years now i think. battery still good and never ever had any problem with it. sometimes keys klog up with some dirt but nothing a vacuum or compressed air cant fix. its still the best keyboard i ever had and will be. if i can buy it new tomorow if mine breaks then i will buy this model without thinking.
I love this keyboard so much, I bought two. One for work, one for pleasure. Had them for years. Unfortunately, I spilled coffee on one of them yesterday. All dried out and functional again, except the '.' key has stopped working. Thankfully, the . key on the number pad still works, but I started looking for a new one, and it looks like they don't sell them anymore 😞
No longer being sold in 2023. I have purchased at least 6 of these at thrift stores for 5-10 USD. Paired with my MX Master 2S mouse. Why does logitech hate humanity so much that we are no longer allowed to purchase an excellent product like this?
Now I need to figure out how to get microsoft to start making Windows Phones again, although my iPhone 6S has been an excellent device for the last 4 years. My point? WE DONT NEED "new" stuff all the time. Old stuff is often more than sufficient.
I like the K800, been using it for about 12 years. Easy to replace the rechargeable batteries (had to do that once in the entire timespan). Love the hand proximity detection that turns on the backlight. But, several keys are now starting to stick, with lots of errors creeping in. I bought a new MXKeys model today. Bad choice. Keys immediately started to stick. Plus, it's small, low, not comfortable. Returning it tomorrow. Does ANYBODY know where to get a new K800? This is (was) a great unit.
you could buy used one in good condition. This is what I have done today. Not new but more then enough to serve for another years to come. In this video said is does flex, but I do not use a keyboard as cantilever so that is not an issue.
Just bought one, i live in the Netherlands, it was the only new one still available from BBC. I`m used to the K740 illuminated, but i guess this close enough. I feel very lucky i got it. It`s a very rare find.
I know its an old one mine just went wrong so i was looking in the charity shops and got this with mouse for 8 quid bargin and a half great keyboard for the money
I have two. One is 10 years old, the other 9. I use my main (10 year old) daily. The only thing I have had to do was replace the batteries on both. Since these are older, they had the AA batteries. It is a durable, tough keyboard.
i spilled water on a $60 CDN refurbished one in 2014 that I threw out, bought another new for $100, used it till now, until I spilled beer on it last week, since I work in high tech repair I figured I would spend the time repairing it as a new one is now $180 CDN!!!! aaaaand as I was taking it apart I spilled wine near my xbox series x..luckily this time no electronics were harmed. When you factor in the fact I can buy 3 cases of craft beer for the price of a new keyboard, I was trying to youtube if its worth fixing this one or getting an MX keys on sale. As I do not plan to stop drinking. lol hopefully this baby works after I take the membrane in to work to do various cleaning processes. Cheers.
Thanks for watching! It's not the best keyboard out there and a bit outdated but it's good for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money. Not sure how much it is nowadays but you may find something else that's better in the same price range.
The old version used 2 user replaceable AA NiMH batteries. The battery in the new version is soldered in and requires the keyboard to be disassembled in order to access it.
For me it's the best keyboard ever made. I can't get used to other keyboards anymore. Too bad they don't produce it anymore and I accidently broke my keyboard with a beverage. They are now very expensive, even used.
Please can anyone who purchased this keyboard fairly recently confirm whether or not it suffers from keyboard ghosting? The older version didn't and I'd like to buy a new one.
@@kvmods Ghosting is when the keyboard won't register multiple keys at the same time. For example, most standard keyboards can register say three different keys at once, but try hitting 4, 6, or even more (which you would do in some cases when playing games) and you won't get a response. Of course, if you're just using a keyboard for normal typing then ghosting doesn't matter.
@@MikeJB6 I'll reply (way late) that sadly it suffers from ghosting for gaming. It's my only gripe with it. Sadly Logitech never improved it with a new model :\
@@phaolo6 Thanks for the reply, Paul. I think I must have struck it lucky with an older model as the one I purchased a couple of months after my initial post seems to be fine. Thanks again for the reply.
@@MikeJB6 Hello. I'm actually still using my ancient one (but the led has failed by now). It seemed to work fine with many games, until I played Hollow Knight and I noticed it wasn't registering some combo. If you try one of those n-key rollover test sites, you'll see. Anyway it's good if it didn't give you troubles, it's still a very nice kb.
Don't buy this keyboard - the Windows software has a bug that the media keys jam and the volume gets stuck on 100 - or 0. Also the battery has a VERY short life - 48 hours - and is no longer user replaceable - following Logitech "upgrade".
What keyboard do you use?
Lets start a petition to get them to bring this back!!! Amazing keyboard discontinued to soon RIP 2022
7/10 for the greatest electronics accessory ever made ? Pishaw.

I found this keyboard today and it still works and is holding a charge from using it last 10 years ago.
I've had this keyboard for about 9 years and I love it! The best of all.
i have 2 of these and prefer this keyboard as i use it for graphics design, and like the setup and low front.

wanted to replace mine after 100 years but its not out there anymore 😥
It's the best keyboard I ever used, simply perfection.
Thank you for reviewing this keyboard. It doesn't look like a good keyboard to me, but this is a great review!

I am trying to find a replacement for mine!! Where can I find one??
. . . I LOVE the key touch of this keyboard!!
what happens if there are no batteries after I take the back cover off?
The old version used 2 user replaceable AA NiMH batteries. The battery in the new version is soldered in and requires the keyboard to be disassembled in order to access it.
Is it normal that when i turn it on, the light of battery level is not showing?
It should show when you turn it on.
it's way more expensive 11 years ago.

Buy a hot switch board.
That didn't age good. Its not sold anymore :( And it was the best keyboard I ever had. Shame on Logitech to not have a good alternative.
