I played a Starcraft version back in 2000 or before. I contained 4(or5) terran missions only. I dont remember very well cause it was in english and I did not spoke that language. It was different, the magistrate has a portrait of the battlecruiser captain, the zerg has been called xenomorphs (yes), and there was a faction(i think) and teir leader was the portrait from the science vessel and he has a robotic voice, totally different than the vessel. Any of this has ring a bell to anyone? The final mission has been called "extermination". What could that be?
Starcraft Precursor?
@@LeoTheJust WOW!! It is! Thanks! I will download that.
@@wlacsilbalazs Have fun!
stilll looks so amaizing and atmospheric...way better then any 3d
Some of early Zerg designs reminds me of Diablo, especially Hive in Hellfire.
2:10 That was definitely not a Siege Tank shooting the Carrier. That was the Battlecruiser's Yamato Cannon.
Look the other carrier
do you know if there's some way to access those alpha - beta files from Orcs in space? Specially that tileset with zerg creep that look so awesome.
Omg this is gold, thanks
Zergs were way creepier in pre alpha imo
Wish they release the Warcraft 2 Starcraft Build as a LameDuke
is there any version still avaible of the alpha or its lost source?
Looks like In Early starcraft alpha air units were actually able to fly in space
At 1:17
Unthinkable, this is (not) Warcraft in space!
2:03 This is Brood War campaign map --
There was one at the Starcraft 2 Alpha. At the left picture which was the 1996 picture, is 0:15 included a goliath like white robotic Zealot.
Is it just me, or do the sprites in the pre-release version look a lot more... devoid of color? Kinda joyless, really...
Yoooo it's coolcat!
Really wished they stuck with the original zerg from pre-alpha and just adjusted the level of spikiness lmao
Is this beta soundtrack?
Also, is it possible to find these beta builds? If the CDs exist, then someone must have them.
Sounds like the warcraft II soundtrack.
It is WC2 soundtrack but modified to sound more "spacy". Might be interesting where the original files can be found.
I wants those files, imagine if they had been keept on the star edit has special buildings, why you didn´t make that blizzard.
It just sounds like the Starcraft soundtrack. I've played enough to recognize it. Even if it was many years ago.
I think its the beta starcraft theme. Obviously has been changed since starcraft release and in the beginning sounds like war2 music. It is 100% not the same music that's in regular broodwar play. I play remastered everyday and its deff the beta music or something.
If any StarCraft II players are here, doesn't the ground Science Vessel look kinda like a Colossus?
why did zerg units look so creepy in alpha versions.
alfa version base on warcraft 2 engine.
all i can say is, thank god for fan outcry
they really used the smoking dude from the opening scene of mission 1 to be the operator lmao
They werent kidding when they said there was a Warcraft in Space
1:56 this music theme is more like from first alien movie
2:10 siege tank shooting carrier? Why did they cut this from the game XD
It wasn't the Siege Tank. It was the Battlecruiser's Yamato Cannon.
@@sharkpunchbignemesis9890 look well there's a siedge tank shooting a Carrier in the top
2:30 Snakey? What the heck is a Snakey?
Am I the only one who prefers the originals look?
The music feels like a mix between SC and Warcraft II. Is it a variant in some of the games, or am I missing something?
Guys where do I download Starcraft alpha version ? :)
Check out video of the beta here: ua-cam.com/video/v-jF-U7uMIA/v-deo.html I really liked how the air units moved and attacked (around the 5:18 mark).
Is there any chance to get hands on the Brood War Beta CD?
Land unit Science vessel looks cursed
Imagine siege tanks could blink ...
Interesting, marauders were a thing pretty far back.
yeah they had all the sc2 units thought of way back in early starcraft development like the raven and marauder.
Marauder, however, was replaced by marines, and used a minigun.
So all original zerg structures looked the same as one another; and protoss original nexus became SC2 stargate. Interesting
Amusing
The buildings at 0:30 are fanmade and not from Blizzard.
Moritz Ernst Jacob its actually the early alpha and its look lame so they decided to upgrade the game engine
I am heavily inclined to believe @Moritz Ernst Jacob. The buildings in that draft are completely identical in name and design with those we got in the final version of Starcraft. However, in 1:42, we clearly see the Queen's Nest named as "Hive" and the Evolution Chamber named as "Spore Colony". It is normal for units and buildings to change during development.
Fanmade for what and when? Isn't it logical to assume that those come from the very early development process of SC?
They were part of a Starcraft mod called "pre-craft", made by Josh Marshall aka pyro_maniac (edit: or another guy named Stux) back in September 2000 and published on infoceptor.net
web.archive.org/web/20071217103101/www.infoceptor.net:80/cstructure.shtml
He made them as mockups from the early Zerg screenshots.
no they are not go look at game play of starcraft 1996 restored those are the actual first draft designs of starcraft buildings made off of the warcraft game engine...know your stuff before you criticize others
Orcs In Space never came out to be downloaded is it? And alpha or pre-alpha?
Thanks for answers. If there will be. :D
