I Found 2 Pantera Engines Dirt Cheap on Marketplace!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 лют 2024
- As you guys know I am kind of partial to my Ford cars and engines. And although I have built and raced several different engine platforms over the years I have never had a 335 series 351 Cleveland engine. Now these are getting pretty rare to find as they only produced them in the US for a mere 4 years. They were the most powerful small block V8 produced during the muscle car era and the 2 I bought actually came out of super rare DeTomaso Pantera super cars! Can't wait to build these and install them in some awesome Ford.

Looks like Wawas bug is getting a engine swap😂😂😂
They LS swap 911s...why not a beetle... Kinda like bolting the wheels to the block itself...
I seen a Bug with a 454 in it, so why not? 😁
I've seen a bug with a 302 stuffed in the front
I've seen a bug with a 383 Mopar in it that could be steered with the throttle but her bug will be just fine for now with it's own engine ..up grades can come after she has her licence and driving experience
That’s the best idea ever
The V on those heads stands for Venturi. A Venturi is like a tube but gets narrower in the middle. This narrow section increases the air velocity which in creases the vacuum to draw fuel out of the float bowls on the carbs. `
A scientific word than barrel.
Thanks for the info...:)
Lol.. Some of these youngsters never heard that before! Your explanation was spot on! We learned that in school back in the 80's
I drive a semi 3800+ miles/week, once she gets in the car, I can’t drive across the street without her help😂😂😂 And a roundabout totally confuses her😂😂😂
Congratulations Josh !!!
You hit the jackpot!!!
Here in Australia the 4V closed chamber heads are the holy grail !!!
Look at the crank shafts and look for 4ma cast into crank
They are the best cranks
We had a falcon here in Australia in 1971 that was a GTHO
There were only 300 built
They were the fastest 4 door car on the planet for about 20 years…
All the parts you have there is what ford Australia used to produce the GTHO
These cars were about 425 hp straight from the factory
Look em up on UA-cam!!!
Great find
Cheers from Australia!!!
Cleveland's are awesome, My brother had a 71 Cougar xr-7 with just a 2 barrel Cleveland that outran everything in town, you could stomp on it from a dead stop and it would fry the tires through all 3 gears and barely move. I can't imagine what the 4 barrel version would do.
Score!!! Had a big smile on my face the entire video! You had just the right timing to be the first to hit that FBMP ad. You know what Ricky Bobby's daddy says, "If you ain't first, you're last!" 👍🏁
That’s right
@@sleeperdude2690 im glad you got 2 of me!!!😀
Now put the 4v in the Fairmont for power tour
Right on 👍
I hope you gave that dude another ’huge thanks’ for his big ❤️
👍👍👍
You just have to love a Sleeperdude vid "mid-week" 😊
Love them anytime, I watch reruns in-between
Sure do.
I'm already 3/4 through watching this one twice. =)
Amen! That made my day!
One of my all time favorite cars and motors. You have been saying that you wanted to build a 351C For quite awhile so now you are off to the races! How awesome is that.
I know nothing about engines but Josh's excitement says it all. More than a kid in a candy store, more like a kid given a candy factory! He's actually breathless describing the pieces parts! Very fun to watch 😃
Thank you
There are a few Ford "holy grail" engines from the 60s & 70s: the Boss 302, Boss 429, 427 SOHC and the 351 Cleveland 4V
I had this happen in December. Got on marketplace there’s a 74 f100 listed an hour ago. Messaged and was first in line, went out and bought it the next morning. Good for you sleeperdude! This will be fun to watch get built.
Thank you
Man, I love this family . Keep uploading vids. It's awesome to see a family so interested in old cars.
now days in this twisted society its nice seeing a normal family🤣
@danhard8440 I hear ya, brother
Amen to that! Need more fams like these guys!
"Marge" pickn up small block Fords...shes a Beast!!💪💪💪💪 luv you guys!!!
Econoline E-100 josh. Mount a Cleveland behind the cab (like the little red wagon). Make a gasser out of it. That would be so awesome 👍😎
I've had several a100 dodges and they are fun even with a little power in the stock location. The whole engine is still behind the axle!
If OP is tossing Ideas for the Econoline{a terrible vehicle, and I owned one when nearly new} then put in a Tesla drive train!
@sleeperdude2 every time I watch your show I'm beating myself up for wrecking my old 59 Ford f series pickup and my 70 Chevy Nova. Thank you for keeping the dream alive! We need more old car aficionados out there that rescue these old things and show people how to do it
Yeah for sure, thank you
My first vehicle was a 59 F100 with a 272 I believe. Wish I had kept it. I also later had a 76 Nova Concours with 305 that I rebuilt to use on my rural mail route.
@@gregoryblair9810 no way gregory! My 59 was an F100 with a 272 also!! And they all had three on the tree obviously! That's awesome
I have to ask "WHY" is this needed? You might as well ask people to restore steam engines and drive them. Gas cars are the past; the tech is nearly 200 yrs old, and has been technically obsolete for 40 yrs +or- . This writer knew most of these cars when they were new, and I hated every one of them. A driving lifetime of carrying a whole tool box and 'half a parts store' in the trunk of my car. WHY is that good?
@@gregoryblair9810 on second though I remember mine having a 292 in it. That was a long time ago
Two 351 Clevelands! 💪 Freaking awesome.
I OWNED A 70 TORINO, 351 CLEVELAND, 4 ON DA FLOOR.. WAS VERY QUICK
my 75 gran torino sport had a swapped 351 4V Cleve, gloss black w/Starsky stripe - dusted off all the hot rod B-bodys my friends had
You had me thinking about my first car, a 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport with a 351 Cleveland under the hood, i sure do miss it
I don’t know what to say. I’m more excited than you are for this build. I’ve always wanted a 351 Cleveland. It’s gonna be fun I’ll be watching! What a score!
So cool
Ralphie , the v stands for venturi (barrel) . A 4 barrel has 4 venturi's . The venturi blend fuel/air and cause the air to speed up going past them . Class dismissed 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I helped my stepdad rebuild his 351 Cleveland for his 73 Mach 1. We did it back in the early 90s and that was a memory I could never forget. We will enjoy watching y’all build these. Maybe you will run across a late 60s Mach 1 and pick it up!
The 351 cleveland is a bulletproof motor. My 73 Mach1 has proven it for the 47+ plus years I’ve owned it. You’ll love it.
That is an amazing find Josh, you scored big time with those 351C-4V heads, they are super hard to find.. Especially the closed chambers, to bad you didn't have that pair of the closed ones! Nice Job! I'm very eager to see the build on one of those.
Thank you, yeah that would have been nice
Panterra in a Beetle! Can’t wait!
That would be awesome
@@sleeperdude2690 need wheelie bars for sure 👍👍
DOOO ITTTT!!!!
:59 I have no idea what a 351 Cleveland is but I'm glad you finally got something you've always wanted, Mr. Sleeperdude.
4:43 What was that face you made, Wawa?! 😂
I agree with you if it's a screaming deal and you know it... pay the man what he's asking ...it's the honourable thing to do..much respect Josh and your teaching the kids the proper way to treat people .........looking forward to whatever you build those engines for...Karl from eastern Canada
Blessed and Highly Favored. That's what I'm talkin about. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Thanks buddy
So happy for you to finally get a 351 Cleveland. Can't wait to see what y'all do with it. I rode in a Pantera back in 84/85 and will never forget it. One of my favorite dream Ford's.
So cool
He was organized for sure, the antithesis of Josh in that regards. Great find.
Sleeperdude bonus video life is good❤❤
Yup score. Assemble one engine as package. Then flip build other. One
@@user-ht1xu4gv2u no way you know he is keeping both🤣
i commented he should boost the 4 bolt main🤣
@@danhard8440 gotta get caps added and line bore. It
Awesome video guys thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks for watching!
You hit the mother load!! I've had a couple Clevelands in early 70s Torino's. They were 4V motors and ran great. They were a tiny bit sluggish in low RPM but with a good stall it's not a problem. With a clutch pedal it'll be great. Can't wait to see where it goes!!
Josh you truly hit the jackpot! Very happy for you. Good things come to those who wait, especially when they're a great as you and your wonderful family are.
Thank you
The 351C is my favorite motor of all time. I actually sold the last set of heads to a guy in Australia that worked for Ford over there. Ended up selling the block to a guy here locally. I can't wait to see what you do with these engines.
SCORE!! Man that was a treasure trove of Ford parts. Those 4v heads are worth bucks.
All I can say is WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. You are very deserving of this. I am so glad that you got there first. Now time to make a complete build.
351 mother load.... SWEET!!!!! I had a 72 4 door Torino with a 351 cleveland paid $600 back in the late 70's. Bought it California and drove it back to Michigan where I live, still wish I had it!!!! it was a very nice sleeper of a dude car....
Just throwing this out there. But I think you have a black fairmont wagon begging for a Cleveland. 🤪
Gotta go in a wagon, just has too.
I put a 351 Cleveland in my 1964 Falcon. It fit !! Drove it for 3 years!! Jerry in Buckeye Az
You hit a gold mine. Good deal.
When I got my drivers license in 1976 my mom had a 1972 Ford Torino 500 (the 500 was the number of times I did a massive burnout !). Sadly it was a four door but it was fast. My poor parents probably dipped into my college fund to pay to replace the rear right tire multiple times. Love your show.
I really wish I had a dad growing up to teach me all the stuff about cars that Josh is teaching his kids. Honestly Ralfie and WaWa prob know more than than me and I’m in my 30s. Keep teaching them all you can Josh, it will pay off in the long run.
What a wonderful score 👏 Cleveland heads and 2 blocks and a flood of extra parts, what you decide you can't or don't want to use you can trade for or sell 😀 to 💰 get what you want and need. You are truly loving it ❤️
That’s true thank you
That's a great score! I love my Cleveland. Josh, I use the Australian 2V 302 Cleveland closed chamber heads with 2.19 and 1.71 valves.
What You have To Do To a Chevy For All That:
348 crank in a 454 block for compression from the piston diameter, wide spacing between cylinders for cooling, shorter stroke for RPM, and canted valves for Hemi-like performance!
Man I love old Ford V8s, I can't wait to see you guys build this up!
Flock of seagulls/Dennis the menace haircut “with the back shaved” of course.
Thong flip flops, & BIBS????? I’m speechless….
I’m sorry I can’t hold it anymore.
Back in the 70's and 80's those engines was the favorite for truck pulls. My mom had one in her 74 LTD.
AWE.........SOME!!!!!!!! So great to see you got your hands on the REAL DEAL BABY!!!! My brother had a 351 C when he was younger in the mid 1980's that was in a rusty Mach1. After that I never ran into another person with one. Always Windsor only. Excited to see what you're going to do with them!
That’s awesome. Thank you
Dang Bro.. You Scored BIG !! Love It !!
Welcome to the club , remember they not only like the rpm(we turned our race engine to 7900) they like a lot of gear(4..56-5.14). the v stands for venturi
Luck was on your side seeing that market place ad! Great hoard of organized parts and rare stuff! So cool! Congratulations!
For sure
I just can't get over how excited the whole family is about car parts, except sqezzy of course. 😊
Josh hit the LOTTO. ITS LIKE CHRISTMAS FOR HIM. 😁
Cleveland(s) Rock!!!!!!
Josh this is The Video of the Century right here. This would be my Dream Video of my lifetime this is pure Ford Cleveland Gold mate I’m so sorry for blowing up the comments section. This couldn’t have happened to a more deserving family.
Build yourself a Cleveland headed Windsor or you could come up with a boss motor that would be a good build for the channel. I built one years ago using D1 AE,J Block parts.
HOT DANG you just hit a gold mine! Enjoyed watching and riding along with y'all!
You could shoe horn one of those 351s into a Ford Ranger. That would surely make Ralphie's head explode with happiness!!!
I just love the way Tosh talks Josh up. She sounds so excited everytime he gets excited. That’s a woman loving her man. I love my wife even more/feel closer when she’s into something that I’m into.
That’s an awesome deal, if anyone can put it to good use it’s you guys.
I can’t wait until you start building an engine.
That's like all your birthdays and Christmases coming at you at once. ☺️ What a haul!! Congratulations!! I think a street/strip build would be cool. Can't wait to see your plans, Josh.
Josh you hit Jackpot ! Josh & Tosh I had 71 Mustang Mach 1 I my Dad help me with refreshing 351 Cleveland he work at Ford . I was big fan that engine. You have great parts . That close Chamber 4 v is bad !! Your idea is killer about falcon . See Y'all
And regardless of the weather, the sun shines on the 5 of you, how cool.
From what I can see, the D0AE (1970) casting is the best and strongest blocks available. They were higher in Nickel and Chromium content. You have about $6500-8000 worth of parts there. Depending what you paid, no doubt the good Lord blessed the family on this score! Cleveland motors present special challenges, but are not interchangeable with the Winsor Family of engines. They are related to the 400 small blocks as well as the 351M/400M engines as well. Y’all scored.
Mid-week Sleeperdude video…excellent, helps with the withdraw!! Looks like you scored big with that market place find. Thanks for the video and can’t wait for the next.
They have 302 Cleveland’s in Australia. It’s pretty cool. First 351 Cleveland I ever owned was swapped into an 84 short bed regular cab 2X4 Ranger when I was 17. 😁 I had so much fun blowing tires off in that truck, but it wasn’t practical at all and I had to adult unfortunately🙄 so I sold it.
i live near where they used to make the ranger back in the day
Yeah we had both 302C and 351C. We built them locally and i believe the heads were different for better flow including 3V heads
The 302 Cleveland in Australia was built off the 351 just with a 3inch stroked crank and different rods
They typically had 2v heads on them and the closed chamber heads
I used to have about 4 Cleveland's,2 modified, and several Windsor's,and i actually had a Cleveland in a gen2 mustang,it was a beast! But i would not build anything till i had those blocks and heads fluxed! And i would not build it with used parts, there to hard to find just to blow it up,Oh and that 2 bolt main block, make all the donkey's you gonna need😊
Can’t beat the mighty Clevo s ..I built and raced one in Western Australia..377 cube ..ran 9.56 et …..at 147 mph ..in a 3200 lb car …nothing better than a screaming Cleveland….the 4v is a brilliant high revving head .
WOW!! Awesome haul. I'm seriously jealous.
Dollar store the best place to buy targets. Pantera an awesome sounding car.
Congrats sir those Cleveland’s are great motors especially the 4V heads and super hard to find
I'm sick. I really appreciate you dropping a video while I'm a captive audience.
And Ralphy 4V the V stands for Venturi. Venturi just like your Dad said just means Barrels I have heard all kind of crazy things but that it.
Great haul...looks like a great score. Market place pays off now and again...so happy you got your 351 C blocks and parts. Be great to see a build from start to finish. Appreciate you sharing your amazing adventure with us.😎👨🔧😴🚙😇🙏
Omg! Omg! Omg!! U got 2 Clevland motors ...I have never even seen one in person..I've had 2 Windsors but holy moly u hit the lottery...all that NOS comp cam and lunati and all those roller rockers and coils..all stuff from the 70s so u know the quality is top notch...I could just sit and look at all those old packages and boxes with the vintage company logos...I can't believe Ralphie doesn't remember the Pantera..what s cool car..u hit it big today Sir!!!
I too am a cleveland guy , I have the same valve covers , polished . also note , those heads bolt on any 302 , with a special intake , the winsor family has water in the intake , the cleveland does not. I have been building a Mustang II , pro street , that tells how long ago I started, lol. And have a collection of parts too. If / when you bend a push rod bad enough that the lifter will come out of the hole , you will have zero oil pressure , that oil restrictor kit will fix that . Great motors , the best content , please keep it up. if you could sell granny phone sniff's, LOL
my 65 mustang has a mexican block 302 - main bearing caps are huge, 4V vintage Holley intake & carb... sadly it is in the barn cos im an old fart
Wow, what a FANTASTIC deal! Can't wait to see you build it and see which vehicle is the lucky recipient! I'm happy you got some really nice parts.
Wow!!! Cleveland engines!!!!! That's an awesome score. I would have bought the parts immediately also !!!! You can now make a 351 Boss V8 engine! I would go with a hydraulic lifter/camshaft though. I would highly suggest you get both blocks magnafluxed for cracks at your local machine shop just to be sure.
@sleeperdude2690 you hit the 351c mother load!! Those are highly valuable parts, you can also make huge power with a 351c. That'd be a good engine build for one of the fairmonts.
That was a great find. I bet your anxiety was through the roof until you actually put your hands on the parts and knew for sure they were yours. Congrats on your 351's
I cannot WAIT to see a 351c build. 🤘👍💪
Love it when ever I watch your videos it always plays DG commercials LOL.
WHOO WHOO!!! That's a great deal! Glad to know you finally got the engine you were wanting! I got a car with the engine I WANTED! The Buick 3800!!! The 2000 LeSabre is nealy like new! We're both happy! From me here at Thrif-T body & paint in Wyomin'! Love ya'll!
I owned on in a 70 Torino GT fast back in the 80's and my uncle had them in just about every vehicle he owned, never knew they were so rare this day and age
so happy for you. you found a gold mine there Josh. my brother - n- law has had a 351 Cleveland on a engine stand ready to drop in what ever. he will not part with it. he knows what he has. good for you buddy. happy for ya. do not let any of what you just bought leave your hands
Thank you
I have that excat same motor since the late 80's D1AE 4 bolt mains and 40 thou original! Welcome to the club.
Awesome
@@sleeperdude2690 Awsome for you brother! You have a ton of Narly 351c parts! Mine came with a C6 and the motor and trany came from a 1971 Police interceptor that was wrecked in early 1972 and the police man that wrecked it bought it and stored with thoughts of restoring it one day, but sadly he passed away before that happened and we bought that car from his widow and my buddy took the suspension and stuffed that along with 406 tri power in his 67 falcon and i kept the engine and c6. I think about stuffing in my 69 XR7.... Anywho my newest bucket list item is to hopefully some day meet you in person and total dream to twist some wrenchs with you and your totaly awsome Family!! P/S love the merch!
The pinto would really be a ripper with one!
It's been quite a few years since I built a Pantera engine. Even longer since I drove one. My last Ford hotrod was a 69 Tallladega with the 428 CJ engine. I swapped my 68 427 Stingray convertible for it. The Vette was a tiny bit faster in the 1/4, but the Ford was a way more comfortable car to drive.
Wow what a find you got there looking forward to seeing what the crew will do with it well done 👍👋🇨🇦
Thanks 👍
yall are the Best ;} coming from Iuks MS....
Dude my Wife and I drive just like you guy's. I'm not a Ford man but you Sir made a SCORE with the Clevland stuff!!! I had a Big Block Chevy built one time by a Cleveland guy who ran a Aluminum block Cleveland in a Mach One. Love the Videos and your family values. Thanks for helping Puddin out with his S10 giveaway. Keep up the good work!!
What a score!!!
Being as the gentleman appeared to be, im pretty sure he was happy it went to a good guy like you.
Great load you look like a kid at Christmas. I was looking through my grandpa that has passed away. ..I found a couple of things I will send when I can one is a breaker kit has springs and all that never been used and a few other things thank u for the videos really enjoy them ...
I'd say that's an amazing deal, my dad always says you can never go worng with extra parts, my dad and I keep all of the screws, nuts, bolts, washers and they have come in handy for sure
So lucky. That's my dream engine for my '63 Falcon Sprint gasser project, right down to the M/T valve covers. Add a tunnel ram and wild headers, and it's a done deal.
I love the Cleveland. My dad and me built one for my 67 bump side short wide. It was a monster I loved it. Great score.
Time to find a new project laying in the junkyard and build a engine out of all those goodies😂
Sounds good
Sleeperdude, it would be really interesting to disseminate the serial codes on those blocks 4 strange designations. Also, my notification button was wiped and I missed this video drop by a day. I've heard of this happening, but this is the first time for me. Cheers!
Sweet love it exited to see what you guys do with the 351’s Wooooooo!!!!!!!
Thank you
Awesomeness!!!! GOD Blessed you. I can't wait to see what you do with all the pony parts. The wagon would make a heck of a sleeper😊 with all that goodness. Love you guys, Prayers GOD Bless Bless
Hey SD. Watching you geek out over those parts reminds me of me when I buy a bunch of used fishing stuff. I get plumb giddy!
