- In today's video, we bring back the higher-end affordable watches from a week ago, and show you some lower cost alternatives. If you don't have a few grand burning a hole in your pocket, then consider some of these options for a tenth of the price.

I love Long Island Watch! It's really cool how you guys show alot of humility and are engaged with the watch community. You guys are on the opposite spectrum of soul-less business.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Zeppelin is definitely an amazing choice for those who wants to have luxury, class etc at affordable price👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have the PVD version of the Orient, which I bought from you! Absolutely amazing watch and has taken a high place in my 20+ watches.
Great video. As always I enjoyed all your videos especially the watch and learn series
I own the Orient Captain both the one shown here and the blue bracelet version as well. They are great looking very solid and functional watches. Highly recommend!
In some ways it is quite handy that I get to your posts late as most of the watches you show are out of stock by the time I get to view them. Watch collecting is an illness.
Really enjoyed the lower cost comparison video Marc. Thanks for introducing me to some tempting alternative and affordable (for me) time pieces to possibly purchase. Going to have a look at your online store now. Cheers👍🏻
Thank you!
Marc Thank You for an excellent Video! I confess, I’m a Watch Addict! Just when I think Ive made my last Watch Purchase for a while, You show some new beautiful Timepieces! I thoroughly enjoy your videos! Thanks so much for your detailed explanations!
Great vid - excellent selection of some lower cost options to classic watches. Especially love the Zeppelin and the Orient. Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for watching.
Oh, great! You show some amazing expensive watches and inexpensive alternatives to each...and I want all of them! Why is that?
One thing I noticed is that the Tauchmeister is very similar to the Citizen Promaster Diver, with the inclusion of the dive table on the strap to the overall look and feel of it. Not that that's a bad thing; I have the Eco-Drive variant in blue and think it's a tremendous value for the price.
Thanks Marc!
Always enjoy your vids. Very informative.
Thanks!
Thanks Marc for offering lower price alternatives for those of us on a smaller watch budget...love the Zeppelin !!!
Thank you for checking it out.
Hi, I love your videos. I'm learning so much from them. I have a nickel allergy and right now I'm basically confined to fossil, Seiko, and anything all titanium. It would be awesome if you could do a video about nickel free watches as I'm having a hard time finding the exact stainless steel that different manufacturers use. Thanks!
Such a great channel, love it
Great video. I find myself liking quite a few of those.
Thanks Marc for the heads up👍
Marc these are amazing suggestions, loved them all.
Glad you enjoyed
Hello Mark, Thank you for bringing us some options. That Orient chronograph is a must have in my collection. Ordering now. :)
Haha, thank you!
Wow I really learned quite a bit about these awesome watches! Thanks!
Thanks!
I like your videos . Very informative . From the Philippines
They way you made the presentation of the watches made me subscribe.
Wonderful video ✔️
(I don't speak English, sorry if I wrote wrong)
You’ve just introduced me to my next watch!
Great watches and fantastic channel! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Great video Marc. More videos like this would be cool. btw, got my Bambino during the big one week sale. I'm loving it. Want a Junkers or Zeppelin next. I'll keep watching
Great to hear, thank you!
Some good choices but for me the Casio Duro makes a great beater watch on a Nato, same bezel look as a Rolex Sub, well made and everything lines up, only poor point is average lume otherwise great watch for the small cost.
That's true.
I own very expensive watches and I own a Zeppelin chrono big date. I love it. It punches well above its weight.
Very good overview and honest video conveying that we do not always have to spend a fortune on a watch to enjoy it.
Thanks Marc!!
That's the whole idea : )
Hi; love your chanel; high quality content. I have a question for you Re: the Quartz version of the Zeppelin in this video. While the stopwatch is running can you Split/ Lap? Like for example; on a Timex while the stopwatch is running, if you press the bottom pusher you get a Split and the watch keeps the stopwatch running in the background. Thanks
great video Marc, not everyone can afford high end watches so good to see alternatives.
Thank you!
Great options
I really appreciate your video......thank you.
many thanks for the choices
Thanks for checking it out.
Ooh, I like those Trasers. Nice video, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Mark, best youtube watch knowledge ever.
Wow, thank you.
I love military watches. great video. I just subscribed.
that Zeppelin is a great watch for the value
I'm loving the simplicity of the Tauchmeister AND the blasted case. Any chance that you can get it on a bracelet?
Thank you Marc
excellent and interesting choices, low budget with the feeling of very special watches
Yes, thanks!
That Orient is amazing. Wish it was solar though. I wonder if they have a similar model without a chronograph.
it is 3 years now - since this video - and it still looks fresh and makes immense sense - do you still sell them
Hey mate - interesting watch channel - congrats from Australia. What are your thoughts on progressive US brands - I have a Shinola but interested in your thoughts on others.
I wear 2 watches too! One for show and a casio databank for "work" but mostly show
Really liked the Zeppelin...either one!
This zeppelin is a killer. Got it last week and looks amazing.
I'm still wearing my timex expedition I'm thinking about picking up a Seiko snk809 for now and then saving up for something better
Always can rely on this channel to give you the straight goods
I have the cream coloured dial with a bracelet and I think the cream dial is one of the most beautiful watch dials I own, its also one of the most accurate watches I own being beaten only but a couple grand seikos one of which is spring drive
Nice Marc! Those badboys are BIG! Orient also has a quartz chrono reminiscent of those sweet Zepplins.
They sure are, glad you liked!
The branded gloves are genius. Keep it up, Marc.
Haha, thanks.
Like the Zeppelin with the alarm and the Orient
I'd like to see a budget option for the Sinn 104 St Sa
My son is in the military. He’s younger, so he leans towards smart watches. When he was sent overseas, I thought he needed a tough watch. I bought him an SKX. now he is a two writer and almost never takes it off.
Good idea for video
when will the Sun and Moon blue be coming back to stock? have been waiting!!
what's the watch that you were wearing on your right hand at beginning of the video? Thanks
Wow, I've come across yhese Zeppelin watches, but kinda always scrolled past them because I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan, and I thought having a watch named Zeppelin would just cause a bunch of problems for me because every friend of mine will assume I bought it simply for the name, and I would have a hard time explaining to them that that's not the reason. However, I didn't know they had an affordable model with an alarm. Definitely gonna look more into them now. The Orient also kinda tickled my fancy. The Tracer's are really not my style, but even so, I really liked them (more than many other modern heavy-duty military watches)... I must say, you have great taste! Also, I need to get my eyes into the Islander watches one of these days.
Kind regards from the cold Northern Norway!
I have the first generation Orient Sun and Moon watch. I get a lot of compliments for it. I've also turned down some attractive offers for it, more than I paid for it when it was new, years ago.

Love the channel. Just a question though. You mentioned the Orient sun sand moon in blue at the beginning which is beautiful. I raced to your web sight and there it is on the very top of your page. OUT OF STOCK? When is it coming back?
More next week!
That Zeppelin is very nice!!!!
Hey guys, man do I love these vintage-looking, yellow colored watches with domed cases!
I'd really appreciate any suggestion of similar looking brands and models, in the below 500euro price range.
For now all I'm finding are Orient Bambinos, and these Zeppelin. But I'd love to know a wider variety.
Thanks in advance!
Is it weird? Yeah. But you get over it
-Marc 2017
:)
Hi Mark, I am looking for a watch with the annual date (Month, day, date) with also the second time zone. That it has a clear reading. Suggest me someone good with acceptable cost.
Finally someone features tauchmeister! I have the "T0228M" lime green dial. The Lume is great on these it lasts the whole night. MARC THANK YOU. In my honest opinion I think these watches are understated despite having Miyota movements instead of German movements.
I would agree with you; glad you like them
You haven’t talked about the lume of the zeppelin which is amazinnnnnng!
What's the name of that Shadow military automatic watch again?
Hey Mark, fantastic video. Thank you. do you guys ship to South Africa?
Yes, we do.
I have been looking for a German made watch to add to my collection, zeppelin is the one I've been looking at and also junkers but this video has confirmed that zeppelin is the one for me :-)
Great, thank you!
Back in school (about 6. - 8. grade) I had someone sitting on my side, always trying to press buttons on that digital watch. So as a right handed person I got used to wear the watch on the other side...but as it became normal for me, it confused me at first, that many people thought I'd be left handed. :D
LOL!
Will the Orient Captain Chronograph ever be back in the store again?
Where can i buy to feel safe and to make sure that I’m getting the original there are lot aliexpress fakes, are zeppelin usually cheaper like I’ve seen in the official site some are ranginging around 300€ and for the same price also available in amazon ebay, what i need to look for when buying is there any certificate included in the box for original
Do you have a review on Steinhart watches?
On the SARB033, is that the stock bracelet on it ? It looked a bit different then mine..I've been thinking of putting on a leather band since I have a nice one. Having severe carpal tunnel prevents me from making at home exchanges so I like to be sure..Thanks, Ed.
Yes, it's the stock bracelet.
if i want to buy quartz, i only gets the digital type with no moving parts. no servicing needed. usually much more functions than analog quartz too.
Mark your shows are great thank you I’m courious who repairs a grey market watch a
Any watchmaker.
Where can I get the orient captain?
So what makes the automatic Zeppelin 4 times more expensive than the quartz? Is it the movement only or is there an actual difference in the quality of the materials? dial, strap etc?
Mark, any chance zeppelin 7286M-2 would be back at store? This is grate budget option for omega speedmaster but seems the watch is out stock for a while. Thanks.
Discontinued, sorry.
Marc, I was planning on an Orient Polaris but I like the Graf Zeppelin on this video. Is one of those two brands more dependable than the other?
I think both are great, honestly!
Great video idea Mark. I`m also currently looking for some more affordable watches. Are Zeppelins worth it? they`re not so popular as other brands. I love the looks and the craftsmanship look tip top. Great content, keep it coming :)
I think they are awesome. Well worth the money, and different, yet interesting styles.
Thank you kindly for the info Mark(might be with a `c` if I`m not mistaken) There aren`t many reviews out there on Zeppelins and you sharing this is valuable info for us. It`s great that you answer to comments, well appreciated. Keep up the awesome work!
that's funny about the dominant wrist being a bit thicker than the non dominant! for me it's the opposite, i'm left handed too but i always wear my watch on the left hand (on the dominant) and sometimes i try to wear a watch on my right wrist and ifind i always have to jump a notch bigger on the wrist holes.... perhaps it's because i have quite the protruding num at the edge of my wrist (can someone explain that num to me? i know it's part of the bones but it's quite tall compared to my left hand)
its 2018 and the Orient Captain is up in price its like 300 now from 160 crazy
do you still have the Orient in your store
love the look of the tauchmeister. I have been thinking of getting a SKX007. How do the 2 watches compare?
Different levels; one is a clear tool diver (the Seiko). The Tauchmeister is more of a different interpretation of the diver, and isn't ISO certified. I'd go for the one you enjoy more visually if you aren't going to dive with it.
I sure wish that Zep had sapphire crystal.
Marc, Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! As always, very useful, informative, interesting, and entertaining! You're a good man...
God bless and take care...
Thanks for watching, as usual.
+ Long Island Watch Marc, You're very welcome, but it's my pleasure!
vegasaxeman and
+1 thanks man
And right back at you!
Hey ... if i was to get a dress watch. shall i go for GRAF ZEPPELIN SWISS QUARTZ CHRONOGRAPH WATCH WITH ALARM FUNCTION #7680-1
Or
ORIENT AUTOMATIC SUN AND MOON WATCH WITH SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL #ET0T002S ??
Hmmm, the Orient I think!
Hi Marc, can you do a review (more like show off) the Graf Zeppelin 7682-2
Thank you, I will consider it.
hello, hope you make another video like this. gj!!
Thank you!
I really like these videos. Thanks for making them.
Thank you!
Great video. That Orient though... how do they do what they do for what they charge? Amazing..
Good control of labor and materials, and production on a large scale - like Seiko or Citizen.
sweatshops
Totally agree. I got a ray ii in blue and I love it!
Peter Shallis did they ship in italy?
That's your store ship in Croatia . Best regards Marin
Hey Mark - might sound silly, but could you do a video some time on removing the backs of watches? It might sound silly. For example, is there a way to easily know by say looking if removal will require a small screwdriver to be wedged in (and is this even the right way) vs. say a cap which screws in as I have seen in previous video of yours. Some watches I deal with I don't want to scratch or mess up the backs, and initially it seems tough to tell (i.e., somewhat vintage Storm watch I picked up recently). Also, could you ever do more stuff on Swatch, especially vintage types? I've found a few nice ones lately and would like to treat them right. One for example has a plastic band that is cracking, unsure if there might be an appropriate fix. Thanks for the good videos!
Thanks for checking it out. Good idea for a video!
Thanks Mark much appreciated.
I have been forcing myself to wear two watches lately bc I have an Apple watch and I have my everyday Tissot Gentleman. It definitely gets weird looks, but hopefully one day it will be the style since Apple watches do so much for health and whatnot. I won't stop wearing my favorite automatic watches tho.
That shadow is a leftie watch, can`t have it on your left hand and adjust it lol, but it looks real nice IMO..
does mark still have these?
Why is the strap on backwards on the Orient?
good video..
Thanks for watching.
Hey. Interesting vid, but the lumes shot do not show much at all.
What’s the watch at 9.45 ????
