I love that all the different Genova forms have unique takes on the theme. This one (after hearing Dream weavers in Remake which was more traditional) was exciting and really grasped the horror vibe Emergent has.
I believe that at some point in the development of REMAKE, Jenova Dreamweaver was originally going to named Jenova Pulse, which referenced prenatal heartbeat, a stage of fetal development. The heartbeat heard in Emergant’s theme may be a reference to Dreamweaver’s old name.
It's still called Pulse in some European language localisations, and the original Japanese text calls it Jenova Beat - even the music track for it refers to foetal quickening. imo it is 100% intentional that Emergent's music includes an increasing heartbeat.

My feelings as well. The first game was a study in teasing and delivering exact emotional payoff. This one usually leads with the nostalgia, and then flips it and builds on it. Especially musically. You hear the evocative theme first (like in Corel) and then the composers kick things up a notch and give you something crazy and new.
Wow, very well said! I was contemplating on how the SE music team went about composing these incredible remixes, and I really appreciate the way you described it. About 2 weeks ago, I considered ways they could do remixes for Part 3. Like you articulated, I imagined that they'd take the PS1 themes' structure and add some insane musical/harmonic recontextualization to them in various ways, opting for either a subtle or gradual increase in distinction between the new and the origin. Moreover, like with the final boss theme here in Rebirth, they also change the underlying rhythm of some PS1 themes (lots of 6/8 time, compared to a militant 4/4 or 2/4), making them be heard in an entirely new light! All that said, I wholeheartedly agree!

The voices in the song sounds similar to the gongaga region music voices. When you learn gongaga used to be home to an ancient settlement it’s not out of place to assume the voices singing there are the ancients voices. Same with jenovas emergent theme it’s like the ancients are singing it… very interesting!:)

It STARTS with the most hype section of the song for when Jenova is just hanging from the ceiling, then when she drops down to the floor it slows down to a more quiet basic orchestral version? It's like starting the Jenova Dreamweaver battle with the phase 3 part then going into the first part lol Should've gone part 2 > part 3 > part 1 imo
To emphasize her alien nature. During the transition from phase 1 to 2 I recognize some sounds used in the movie Aliens. Also, many predators get more dangerous the more quiet the become. Unknown danger and all that.

I'm a fan of both NieR and Farscape and I agree this reminds me far more of Farscape than NieR.
They added some Witcher 3 Le le le le into the Jenova theme! I love it!
