This was absolutely brilliant. This man is a sage and I love what he said about the anger/fire analogy. I'm forwarding this to many people. I also want to find his books and read them.
Being at peace, internally, is easier said than done. Centuries of creative people have suffered for being different, or sensitive, and from mental stress.
Wow ! The brain is a muscle. You use it or you lose it. Right. I feel ashamed by watching this vid. Ashamed to complain in this time of lockdown. It's a good lesson of humility and dignity. Thank you for this vid
The brain is part of the body's anatomy. But it is not our mind. An idealist should have an emotionally mature mind. One sign of this is to admit being vulnerable. Terry talks about respecting religion, the soul and literature, but he is always too invulnerable.
Incredible man still makes me feel emotional now thinking what he went through. I rememebr thinking at the time he may get kidnapped too so glad he survived
I have and have had, a sincere admiration for Terry Waite. He can describe all he and others went through but I very much doubt few of us will fully understand their situation, suffering and mental state. Terry is a good man and was trying to help others. Regards Michael Chartres
People like this man and the very young Anne Frank are the kind of people we should look to when the going gets tough. They figured it out and kept their joy, they would not allow it to be stolen from them. Fine examples of the human spirit overcoming.
Could you please share more stories of survival and resilience. It will greatly help us prepare mentally when our time to experience such challenges comes. Just like this present corona virus crisis. A first hand experience of the crisis. Thanks for considering this comment.
I attended an event this evening and heard him speak. He is such an inspiration.
"In this moment, don't be defeated."

Hi Annette - so glad you enjoyed it!

"And somehow what we need, today more than ever, this ability to be at peace with ourselves within."

Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
Good content and information. Many thinks I can apply in persuasion and psychology.
Thanks for this post. Lessons from difficult life situations. Learn a lot from this. Very timely during these lock downs in many countries.
Thanks Bert!

Yes, a very inspiring man!
Don't look back in anger
Does anyone know if Terry Waite is still obsessed with Depeche mode.
It's never mentioned in any of the other interviews on you tube.
People disabled me and force me to keep working
Love to know what he thinks of what Israel are doing at the moment
