    Thank you for sharing this trick. I just watched someone else use the burn method, but her paper, i think was rice paper, a bit thicker and it didn't work quite as well. So, I super appreciate you letting us know what kind of paper works best. I might try it sometime soon, outside. It looks like a fun project. Yay!

    Maaaan i didn't remember ever hearing you say in the 1st video that we had to burn it while Mod Podge is still wet :/ yiiiiiikes...i would have totally waited 4 it to dry probably....sheeeesh lolololol 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️❤❤❤

    • @OurUpcycledLife

      Yes the Mod Podge has to be still wet to work the best. If it dries a bit it will probably still work ok but would scorch more probably ! Thanks for watching Mindy

    Don’t understand why you painted the snowflake black first since you didn’t distress it at all. Love the layers of paint on the sign.

    • @OurUpcycledLife

      The black spray paint was around the edges of the snowflake so it looked good with the black lettering instead of white

    New Subbie here!! Ok Can I just tell you Im a huge fan of crafting myself & feel quite confident with knowledge if it & thought I had seen or read alot. When you did burning technique my jaw literally dropped & said out loud "WHATTTTT"! Im so impressed watching I really thought you were talking about burning edges to make something look burned, old etc. And when you used flame I never thought it would be so precise? Is that the right word? I didnt expect it to trail like that. Wow!! 230am binge watching you! Amazing!!!🤩😮😮❤️💯👍

    Love the blue colors and technique-thank you! I do have a question-what was the purpose of painting the snowflake black? I would have done the usual white priming… Although the black did give it a depth of color. Thanks!

    This is the second video from you on paper burning that I've watched. In both, when you paint on the Mod Podge, you don't seem concerned that there might be excess glue in the small recesses of the design...like a thicker line of glue inside a curve or letter from where the paint brush scraped by while painting the surface...and there's a little build up. It's clear that the MP needs to be spread to the edge to adhere the napkin & burn properly. But does that extra glue in the recesses matter, or should it be cleaned up a bit? Thanks.

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  2 роки тому

      I have never had any problems with that at all! When you spread it out and get bubbles and wrinkles out it is very smooth and even! Thanks for watching Cecelia!

  • @christijanes6908

    I did this and it has like a burnt look on it.. Totally messed up my words. What did I do wrong? I used the some tissue paper that looked like it had foil like paper in it. Could that have been the issue.

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  2 роки тому +1

      Yes that might have been the issue because the foil would burn alot hotter. You also maybe left the paper around the edge to big so you had alot to burn off. Trim really well first. :)
