    *Seems like a good solar **Generater.Systems** . I have not had to put it to the test yet in a situation without power but it has seemed to operate fine so far.*

      Depends on their size, I have a Bluetti AC200 Max that will run the van with AC on for a couple hours.

    there's nothing wrong with having a generator with a lithium package! and I know there's a lot of people out there bragging about their systems and that they don't need a noisy smelly generator! but this is a good video and it shows its not bad to have a generator! good job👍

      I'm a big fan of having options- I don't care how many batteries you have- if you are camping for a extended period eventually they need to be charged. These small generators make very little noise and give you long term power.

      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED there's a video of a guy who has a swing out hitch mount generator box that really deadens the sound. He has one box for the generator and one for extra fuel. You should try finding a box, and then you can run it for hours with upsetting the complainers, lol those honda generators are great👍

    Thanks for the very informative video! I have had Honda generators in the past, and it’s the only generator I will ever buy again.

    If you have a hitch mounted cargo carrier you can always buy the extended run gas cap for the genny. Then you can connect a 6 gallon boat gas tank and run it for days!

    Roamrig will be coming out with a Lithium package for the 21/22 Revel but for the weekender the generator seems the way to go and allot less money. Thanks for sharing, I’ve enjoyed all the recent videos!

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  3 роки тому +2

      I think the Roamrig stuff is awesome, the thing is you can have 10x the batteries but unless you start the rig or have a generator the solar won't even begin to top off a system like that. If it wasn't for the humidity in the southeast I think the factory system or maybe a 3rd battery would be perfect for most.

    Can you replace your stock power system with a Volta system like Storyteller vans? Could you run the van engine alternator and keep up with the AC. Thanks for showing your solution!

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  2 роки тому +1

      Roamrig is the most popular electrical replacement, they offer systems from $11,000 to $17,000, for my use the $1,000 generator is perfect. The Revel comes with a second alternator dedicated to the coach and can keep up with the AC no problem, just not good to do that without a diesel idle controller.

      @@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED oh, so that is what they all mean when everyone says you have to drive for 2.5 hours to charge the battery. So you wouldn't be able to charge the batteries while the van was running idle? I'm able to charge my EV battery using gas while idle for my Mitsubishi PHEV outlander in about 30 minutes, I'm looking to maybe purchase a Revel but would love ability for full AC for the family during real hot evenings.

    Great and informative video especially with all the cool apps. Where do you store the generator when traveling? In the garage section? Does it smell of fuel?

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  2 роки тому +1

      I keep it in the garage, as long as you turn the gas valve off before you shut down the generator it will have no fuel in the carb, then you turn the valve on the gas cap which seals it off, no fumes at all.. Great way to have full power anytime.

    Hi there! Great video! I have a 2022 Revel and recently having issues with the secondary alternator and rented the same generator you talk about in this video. We changed the settings like you demonstrated and it worked great! The next time we plugged into shore power, the grid mode icon kept blinking on the xantrex panel and charging never starts. We ended up changing the setting 99 to restore the default values and shore power started charging our house battery. Since we've done that, I now notice when shore power has fully charged our house battery, it doesn't seem to trickle charge anymore. It just stops charging and in order for me to restart the charging, I unplug the shore power and plug it back in again.
    I was just wondering, after you change the setting 28 on the xantrex control panel to work with the generator, do you need to change any settings back to work with shore power? Any info, you can provide would be very much appreciated!

      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  7 місяців тому +1

      Sorry for the delayed response! You can leave setting 28 at the lower setting and connect to shore power no problem at all, the only thing is the batteries will charge slower, AC, heater and induction work just fine with the lower setting.

    • @jeff9056
      @jeff9056 7 місяців тому

      Right but for some reason it won't charge if we leave it on 28. It's blinking but no charge? I have to be doing something wrong 😢

  • @PersonaN007Grata
    @PersonaN007Grata Рік тому

    It’s kinda disappointing that on a Solis, you get an ultra quiet generator built in and fed off the main gas tank whereas the more expensive Revel doesn’t have one.

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  Рік тому

      I'm not that familiar with the Solis but it's my understanding it only has AGM batteries and pretty much has to have a generator to function off the grid. The revel has lithium and can run for days OTG with no generator. Heavy use of the AC is the only reason to consider additional batteries or generator in the Revel.

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  3 роки тому

    Would the solar help with charging? Can you secure Gen on van when boondocking to prevent theft?

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  3 роки тому +2

      The stock solar on the Revel will keep up if the van is not using the AC or the induction stove when you have a clear view of the sun. I have a cable lock that I will lock the generator to a tree or through one of the wheels over night. If no ac is needed I put the generator in the van overnight.

    Hello
    Have you used the generator in the wild enough yet to get an idea how long it will run on a tank of gas? The tank is built in a pretty small isn’t it?

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  3 роки тому +1

      It all depends on AC use, battery level and amp setting on your inverter. If you don't want to use the AC you can go from 10% to 100% in 3-4 hours on a single tank, with the inverter set to 15amps. If you don't use the AC Continuously and have the inverter set to 15 or even 7 amps the generator will run up to 7 hours or so. I can go a couple days with a single tank and using AC overnight. AC is really the main reason I got the generator, the stock 2 lithium batteries do a great job when it's not 80+ degrees and crazy humidity.

    • @chrisschmiedeke
      @chrisschmiedeke 3 роки тому +1

      There are aftermarket tanks that go with this generator that double or more the gas capacity.

      Unless you run the ac all night you would be fine on the batteries all night. When I don't need ac I rarely need to fire up the generator..

  • @tonyrapae8795
    @tonyrapae8795 3 роки тому

    How long will the generator run on one tank of gas while running the air conditioner?

    • @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED
      @MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED  3 роки тому +5

      At the 7amp setting you would be close to 6-7 hours on a full tank. Once the generator fully charges the batteries the load is reduced and the generator doesn't need to work as hard. That's assuming AC at max running 100% of the time which would be pretty extreme. If we are camping 2-3 days it's rare to go through a full tank.
