I did not realize that the Switch node would allow for completely different polygons like that. I would have guessed it would work with the different points on a polygon in the way a keyframe changes the shape, but completely different shapes. That's a big thing. 20+ minutes well spent, even though I knew about almost the other stuff. Well done and much appreciated.
I've been having to make a bunch of fake strobe flashes and the switch node has been PERFECT for it. Also did a project where multiple people were wearing sunglasses and the glasses stayed in the same position as the person changed. Switch node made it insanely easy.
I made a video on this node where I use it to control paperdoll expressions, 2d camera input, 3d lighting groups amd character dialogue and then I drive all of those switch nodes using a custom tool. It's pretty crazy. I love this new node.
We just did a test with the uLoader node and a Switch modifier. We tried scripting the code for a switch with 101 inputs, when imported into DaVinci Resolve Studio it max'd out at 64 (0-63) inputs). Looks like the current limit is 64 inputs on a Switch, would be nice to see this increased a bit.
The switcher node could be extremely useful to load a numer of powerpoint slides and keyframe the switch node to sync with a voice over if you do not have a atem switcher, i think
Very cool, If you were editing game shows or sport I can see that the switch would allow a group of comments "correct , wrong, touch down etc." Could you then increase or decrease a score based on the switch used. How?
So, could the inputs be different (same length) video source files? So, if I wanted to churn a certain video that was the same length but needed different videos at one point in the final output window; I could make multiple versions of a long file with different versions because of what I chose from Switch?
It is a little different but similar node question. There is the Duplicate3D node, It does it's job perfectly by repeating the 3D shape as many time I want, and even offsetting the values, but I found no way to change the offset... With combining and offsetting two bender nodes I managed to change the offset, but not enough, and if I go further it changes the behaviour.. I have it done with multiple transform nodes for each shape, but for every new shape I would have to create a transform node. So if anybody have idea how to make it work it would be great.
Jake Whipp did a video where he bumped up the number of inputs on the switch node to something stupid and then did an alt drag of a connecting node to it. PMSL check it out so funny. But anyway looking forward to some more switch videos from you Patrick. 👍
Omg... UA-cam just presented that video to me automatically with their new Audio translation "AI" thingy which is absolutely horrible. So, watching you, while listening to that standard, dusty old TTS-Voice with 0 emoitions in my standard-language german was pretty weird.. took me a second to realize whats going on and instantly set it to original language...^^
In French, it is obviously TTS and almost to the point where you'd wish you'd have paid more attention to English as a 2nd Language. Luckily for me, I did and can do without the dubbing or subtitles. You guys would have to see if having this feature brings more viewers from those countries, but it is not as enticing as I'd first imagine it to be.
I was amused by your comment… If you’re deep inside fusion. Fusion is so convoluted that we call it ConFusion. I watch your videos anyway because I love your geek talk. But everything you can do in fusion using 10 nodes I can do in after effects using three layers!

Your verbal sound effects are always on point.

Such an elegantly simple and useful Node.
Great tutorial! Ill definitely be using the switch node to set up customizable animation templates!

Please add your proto v2 into the fusion page for iPad!
Switch 101 no, not switch 101, anything but switch 101! - Winston Smith
i with you do a specefic video to the instant nodes an d explain how powerful they are
Please update Proto plugin with switch system and more effects

Does anyone know if there is something similar to the new Switch node in Blender, either for Geometry nodes or Shader nodes?

oh that's super interesting it changed it for you automatically! outside of the style how did it seem like the translation did?

Buy a Mac! All your troubles will simply fade away.
Patrick Stirling hat die deutsche Sprache gelernt ;-) Die Originalstimme ist allerdings sympathischer.
Leave it to BlackMagicDesign to overcomplicate things
god I love a good boring new feature - I have no doubt this is going to save me so much faffing around at some point
pleas4e make qa music player title/sticker for dav
Damn watching in hindi rn
Let me know how the translation is!
Translation is robotic and its speed changes randomly. This is just a feedback.
im listening in spanish! wow!
wow I didn't know I got this feature either!!
you've got to let me know if the translation makes sense :p
@@PatrickStirling was wonderfull!
O My god this is in French
Yesterday DaVinci resolve studio was updated to v19.1.1 build 8.
