Same here. And the “ill make myself good enough.” Ive always been the skinny (arms and legs), fat (belly and moobs), clumsy guy in my group. At 38 yrs old I found goggins as covid hit the world. 2.5 yrs later im down 75 lbs. Do yoga daily. Train bjj 5 days a week. As my friends get older and fatter and drink more and more booze, i shed lbs, added muscle mass, eating clean. I made myself good enough to run a half marathon. I invented a new person. People ive met since think Ive always been mr fit, until i show them my before pics
You legend! After something happened I made an intentional choice to sabotage and take on behaviours to destroy the side of me that was winning. I had the likes of david goggins mentally, but I want to restart by destroying what I built and rebuild. Im still destroying myself its been 1 and a half years, I lost myself and am becoming bitter to life. But in this God is with me. This is the battle God is given me. The answer will show when it does. But not yet. In the end it will...
For me its always the, “Im just not good enough. We always say that shit.. Im just not good enough, and then we try something else… Im gonna fucking make myself good enough! And that became my mentality!” Alway makes my hair on my arms go up 💪
And to do that he learned to understand that defeat is a flexible limit, not an end. To push that limit, he subjected himself to more and more things that could defeat him. People just dont do that... force themslves to suffer. Goggins punished himself; not to defeat himself, but to overcome what he felt could defeat him. Adversity shaped him, improved him, and made him the iron man he is today. Stay hard.

Listening to him speak, he shows that he is a very introspective and perceptive person who can speak clearly with insight. You are right, he has gained a lot of wisdom through his life experience. I consider him very smart.
He has that rare one in a million intelligence that remains natural. It hasn’t been corrupted by outsiders telling him the way of life. He stuck to his guns and figured it out for himself, that’s more than I can say for any intelligent person I know regardless of how successful they may be.
How many of you are watching this knowing there is something you wish you were doing with your life? Why aren't you? This is our shot. There's no replay.

I felt that running part. You get used to running so well when you’re skinny. Go through a period of gaining weight and try to run again? It’ll hit you like a train.
No proper training, no school sports, but because of my airborne ranger grandfather I learned to shoot, fight, hunt ...and run 5 miles a day before sunrise. Grew up, rebelled against the discipline... Gained 80 lbs.. now here I am at 29, hating myself realizing I need to fix this. Started eating better, cut out sugary drinks... And then felt ready. Stretched, and started running. After thirty seconds I dropped to my knees in agony, unable to breath... And cried. Felt so fucking pathetic I wanted to die. I think I would have rather been hit by the train, chief.

Dude whatever it is that you need to do just know that the only limit you have is your mind. I'm a big believer in developing or hardening your own mind to overcome challenges in your life and to not look at what others are doing, even if its inspiring, like Goggins running. a million miles or going through 3 hell weeks, your own journey isn unique to you. I'm just gonna give you a look into my mindset and how i did this for myself. My sister attempted suicide in my freshman year of high school and i lost everything. I shut down completely, my social life, I forgot about my health and became comfortable doing nothing. Not studying, not talking to anyone, but friends that I already had, not working out. The way Goggins has a voice in his head that tells him that hes not good enough, mine was the opposite. I continued down this path, through sophomore year and then COVID gave me yet another excuse to prolonge this loser mentality. Then I heard the other voice. The voice that says "You're not Fucking Good Enough." This is probably what you're hearing right now. Anyway, I went from 270 lbs to 180 in 5 months. It was an improvement but im 6'5 so I became "skinny fat" cus all I was doing was grueling cardio. I was still, "depressed" and I still didn't like what I was, even though other facets of my life had improved like academics and I was generally in better health. Some m ore time past and other aspects of life that i won't get into deterred me a little bit, but there was already some adversity that i had overcome, so I got a little complacent. Anyway, this cycle continued until I discovered Goggins. This was only a couple months ago, but just by developing the mentality to harden your mind is incredibly important. remind yourself that you're a bad motherfucker and no ones gonna stop you. Discipline and Consistency are important. Just by doing this, I'm now about 210 and have a solid amount of muscle, but the answers lie in the repetitions. People tell you to embrace the grind, but you don't have to embrace it, in fact if you don't hate it, you're not working hard enough. Find it within yourself to tell yourself that you have to do this. Culture today provokes us to tell ourselves and others that they're perfect how they are, but you know that you're not fulfilling your potential just like I do. I've vowed to myself to never stop improving myself as a human, which is something that I think everyone should do. I'm not typing this bug ass paragraph to patronize you or anyone that reads it, but to just give insight on how developing the, "dog mentality", which I haven't fully developed btw, It's an everyday battle, can change someone's life like it did mine. i have complete and utter peace of mind and focus when it comes to improving as a human each and every day now. If your goal is easier or harder than what I did, develop the mentality that is fit for you and your situation. Only you can harden your mind to fulfill its potential. Anyway bro I hope this somehow gets to you. I don't know why I've spent all this time typing this out, but I really think that by reading your comment, you've come to a real realization in your lifer and at this point I wanted to let you know that You are unstoppable and know that you want it more than anything youre gonna harden your mind and shape yourself into a bad motherfucker. Go Get that shit!

This man drove me to go from 280 at the beginning on this year to 185. The line, “I’m just not good enough but I’m gonna make myself good enough.” hit me. I’m leaving for basic training in a day and “the fucking mind is what you create it.” line is strong. I’m gonna make it through all these obstacles and pass my basic training. God bless all who find this video to give you that drive. We need to stop with the, “Imma Dos.” and, “Maybe I’ll Do It Tomorrow.” The times now let’s do it y’all got it. Once again God Bless people hope everyone gets past that fear and just starts to do.
My father ran the Badwater 135 with this man. It's a 135 mile run that starts in Death Valley in July, ends near the top of Mt. Whitney. A lot of folks thought that David wasn't qualified to run the race, supposedly he wasn't based on qualifications needed to run the race, but I understand the board made an exception, and he completed it. His first race (not sure if there are more) was a struggle from all accounts, but he stopped at nothing and persevered. My dad, also ex special forces, completed the run at age 58. It's mindset that carries someone through something like that. We are talking about running for 2+ days (for most folks) with temperatures up to 130 degrees and massive incline. The longest range, highest heat, and most incline of any run in the U.S. and perhaps the world. BEAST.
Tough race but definitely not the hardest; check out the Iditarod Trail Invitational, the Self Transcendence 3,100 and Tor de Géants (hardest of them all).
I’ve drawn so much inspiration from this man and a few other SEALs. I smoked for about 14 years, did a lot of drugs and heavy drinking for far too long. But I’ve quit all that and started running and pushing myself farther than I ever thought I could go. Now I’m training for marine force recon, and I look to men like him for motivation every day

I don’t know if it’s the magic formula for everyone but it has certainly helped me and if you are truly suffering then you know you’d try anything to get it to stop. So try it. One month. Dr Greger is very important but so are the others. See if any speak on anxiety directly I’m not sure at this point. I originally switched to plant based when watching Jon McMahons iThrive series on obesity diabetes and heart disease. I had just resigned myself that I would live with anxiety. But I had to change my heart and pre diabetes condition. But I switch to plant based and about 3 months later I didn’t notice but my anxiety was basically gone. About a year later i was trying to remember my last panic attack and was like it’s been at least 6-8 months. Normally I would have 3-4 a week. So it was a good byproduct of the switch to whole food diet and exercise. The best resource I’ve found on UA-cam is Dr. Greger. He is famous for showing people what they need to eat each day. He doesn’t charge for any of his advice. And his book all profit is donated. And he doesn’t sell any programs. He teaches you what to eat and how. With his daily dozen checklist. ua-cam.com/video/g0UmVKA-4F8/v-deo.html His UA-cam site. ua-cam.com/users/NutritionFactsOrg?app=desktop Remember none of this is some magical cure. This is real life and it requires a step by step change and dedication. But I guarantee you will be better off. VERY IMPORTANT: you need a balanced diet on plant based as it can be difficult if you miss nutrients or vitamins. Eat a variety of vegetables for salads and meals. Get all the four groups of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and beans (nuts and mushrooms) in you everyday. The mind needs these nutrients. As well you will need a source of B12 in your diet as this only comes from diet which people don’t eat anymore. The plants and exercise helps regulate the body and mind which allows you to then sleep better, which I believe also has an excellent impact on reducing anxiety. I listened to Goggins everyday of my journey. Still do most days. Every interview of his. Listened to his book at least three times in full and both Joe Roggins interviews as many times to help me. I’ve turned my life around but it never ends. Believe it or not I qualified for the Ironman 70.3 world championships in my age group and I’m 50yo. And trust me 15-16 months ago I was a mess. 25-30kg overweight, no exercise for 20 years and had a mild heart attack driving my 5 year old daughter to school. Panic attacks anytime I was in a confined room or meeting or mall or restaurant. I think you probably know this hell. I know I wrote a lot here and I just hope it helps you like it helped me. @Nachiketh Hanumante. Thanks. It’s funny you say that as when I first listened to Goggins (his first like ten minutes of his first JRE podcast hit me like a tonne of bricks) I used to sit and listen and take notes. One of the notes I wrote was: This life is my video game. Somewhere in the heavens I decided to play this and this is why I am here. I’m going to play it my way and do the good things that bring the most points. Those points will be achieved through suffering. Suffering is the key to this game. There’s so many distractions. I’m writing on one right now lol. Dr. Jordan Peterson taught me the importance of scheduling. He starts with the premise what does your perfect day look like? Then write it down. Then scheduled it in. He knows not every day can be like that. But as long as it’s better than the last then you’re improving. A clear healthy mind full of nutrition is going to be great for creativity.

Mr. Goggins, I just wanted to say how inspiring I find your story. I am glad I ran across this video because my sister just sent me a copy of your book which I will start reading today. After high school ended in '81, a very close friend of mine decided to become a SEAL. I was a fairly decent long distance runner in school, so he asked me to run with him to prepare for BUDS. After the the first 4 or 5 days , he left me in the dust !!! ! I could sense a change in him and a strong sense of drive that only got stronger and stronger as time passed. He also was not a swimmer, but pushed himself at the local YMCA pool and it worked, he is still in the Navy today. You may know him, his name is Jesse Gross. I am so proud of him and am grateful for his and your service. Thank you !!!! If you do know Jesse, and are still in the Seal community, please tell him hello from his friend Dave in Grants Pass, OR. I look forward to reading your book and wish you well. David Hannum
That's amazing how he explains the transition in the mindset of "I can't do this" into "What if I did this, how great of a story would that be" That's like the biggest barrier in anyone's life destroyed in one notion...
I watched a Goggins video recently and one simple thing he said has changed my life completely. I have struggled with thinking I have no real purpose in life for a long time. But he said that the Main purpose in you’re life is yourself and that one statement alone has inspired me to make myself a best version of me. Dave Goggins you literally saved my life anc I will forever be thankful.
This guy inspired me to run everyday. I've always believed that I wasn't good at running but I realised that I wasn't working towards become good at running. Now i'm improving every single day. Goggins is an ispiration.
9:40-10 hit me so hard having a chronic pain disease and trying to get my college degree. Some days I just feel defeated and I start talking down on myself, but now I'm realizing it's like he says. It's part of the process and means you've fought like hell recently and need to rest to go at it again.
I will watch this video every single fucking day, to fuel me and make me remember that life can be more than just a giant waste of time. Love you Goggins!!!
I didn't really know Goggins' story, so I didn't know why he was all over the internet and what made him different from the other "workout guys." But after watching this...I get it now. What a story! He got himself into BUDS and then endured three hell weeks...wow. He built himself back up after his father tore him down. Thanks for this inspiring video.

He gained as much weight as I weigh right now that's crazy. It really shows how much the dark side of the mind can affect people. Goggins is the epitome of human potential. He didn't start from nothing, he started from below rock bottom. Now we see him here now what a guy.
I’ve played this video one too many times. This video is such a clear presentation of the human potential is endless. No matter where you come from, you are able to accomplish anything with hard work and dedication. When I’ve first listened to this I’ve tried to run close to 1 mile but couldn’t, the more close I’ve listened to this video the more I got out of it. A month later I’m able to run 10 miles at a 8:30 pace. I’ve grew up fat and been picked on my entire life. Never in my life I would have thought I can run past a mile. Whoever reads this I just want you to learn from this comment to never give up on yourself, and don’t ever go easy on yourself.
I've been binge watching Goggins videos. At first it was motivating me, then out of nowhere some demons from my childhood came up and now I realize the depth of what he's saying. And what he's saying is helping me to face those things and deal with them. I've done this before many times, but new layers have come up. That's what he's about, fully dealing with any demons and flipping it on its head. Me too. Let's go.
When this man entered my life my first reaction was that he was another American posing for the social media without knowing a lot about him. I saw a video of him explaining what was said in this video and I kept listening. I realised I could relate to him about my father as I also had a rough time growing up. He said he visited his dad ten years later, sat there looking at him and thought... “you had something in your life that fxxked you up and decided to take it out on me and mum without dealing with it yourself so you passed it onto us” and then he explains like this video. It’s really hit home for me after floating around for most of my adult life and it is something I needed to hear from a man like Goggins.
I seriously cannot help but relate too this guy,I'm in a similar situation my dream is to become a royal marines commando. I didn’t pass my candidate preparation course because I lacked the proper physical preparation now I'm grinding hard for 3 month's and coming back to pass in October or November. If he had the money to get a personal trainer to help him lose 100lbs in 3 months. Every single professional personal trainer would say that is impossible. Even if you starved yourself with no food, you can only burn 2000 calories a day. When I was young, I was really fucking poor. I remember what it is like to be hungry. David goggins was in a constant state of starvation for 3 months. Let me tell you, that's a lot of fucking pain and suffering. He burned like 5000-6000 calories a day. 2 meals a day at ranger school was probably a walk in a park.

"I wanted to feel something besides defeat"
Jesus that is so powerful. Goggins just speaks right into my heart.
Stay hard.

@@lucapalmero6923 Thank you

BEAST.

I suffered severe anxiety since the age of five. Brutal debilitating anxiety and panic attacks since age 15.
Since doing this id say 98% of this has gone away, with endurance training.
I don’t know if it’s the magic formula for everyone but it has certainly helped me and if you are truly suffering then you know you’d try anything to get it to stop. So try it. One month. If no improvement fine.

These are an amazing cast of speakers.

His UA-cam site.
ua-cam.com/users/NutritionFactsOrg?app=desktop
Remember none of this is some magical cure.

@Nachiketh Hanumante. Thanks. It’s funny you say that as when I first listened to Goggins (his first like ten minutes of his first JRE podcast hit me like a tonne of bricks) I used to sit and listen and take notes. One of the notes I wrote was:

There’s so many distractions. I’m writing on one right now lol. Dr. Jordan Peterson taught me the importance of scheduling. He starts with the premise what does your perfect day look like? Then write it down. Then scheduled it in. He knows not every day can be like that. But as long as it’s better than the last then you’re improving.
A clear healthy mind full of nutrition is going to be great for creativity.

Man the rocky part is so moving man. How he says “Not winning, just him getting up” im taking this into everyday life from now on!!!! Fam lets get this grind in!!!!!
This man will be talked about throughout history. So glad we're getting to see him alive in action. Stay Hard!!!💪🏼
Mr. Goggins,
I just wanted to say how inspiring I find your story.
" The more comfortable I got, the more that voice wouldn't leave me alone " - David Goggins
This is exactly what I needed to watch to start off 2020!!
Meladie Sovan check his book it’s pretty amazing
Howz 2020 treating you thus far?
You got this Mel bel! Keep it up :)

Mr Goggins! I'm asthmatic and I've quit smoking 6 weeks. My breathing was f#@ked but I will run a marathon I've made a promise to myself
You can do it 🙏
Lets go bro 🙌
Sarah Daniels I’m transforming how I look and i’m asthmatic too, whenever it hurts don’t let your mind tell you it’s impossible, you’ve got this brother, don’t let it beat you man, keep at it and don’t stop even if you fucking hate it at first, good luck.
How did u smoke with Asthma? Crazy.
Hey man, you should try out the Wim Hoff Method to improve your breathing - allegedly it works even for asthmatics. Stay Hard :)
Goggins is an inspiration, he gives hope because a lot of us felt that way before. He is so honest about what he felt and what he thought. He is one of my favorite people in the world. So strong mentally. He is right in all he says. Is the pure honest truth. I hope one day I meet him
This guy is a legend. Used rocky for inspiration. And says it how it is. Respect
"the voice getting louder" It never will leave. It will haunt until u move.
that fuckin voice man! as soon as yoou turn a knotch down, the voice appears. I always knew the moment I stopped focusing on the positive, the voice will appear, I fucking knew it. And it did. I gotta create momemtum again.
I really think this is the most motivational thing I've ever heard such a blessing
Listened to this on repeat for 15 miles straight preparing for my first ultramarathon in June. Thanks goggins.
I had the same experience watching the navy seals shows ... I was in my late fifties and started manning up and facing fear ... too old for military service but inspired the same way
Good for you my friend it is never too late to conquer your fears and reinvent yourself
He gained as much weight as I weigh right now that's crazy. It really shows how much the dark side of the mind can affect people. Goggins is the epitome of human potential. He didn't start from nothing, he started from below rock bottom. Now we see him here now what a guy.
No, he didn't start from below rock bottom. Chuck Norris did 😎
I’ve played this video one too many times.
The face of Apollo Creed looked like the face of wilder when fury got up in round 12 😂
Due to the veeery slow count!
Me too. Let's go.
You don't have to love goggins, but you gotta respect what he has done for himself and helping others. You don't know me son.
Blows my mind how anyone can dislike this video. Inspiration at its peak. Congratulations on your perseverance.
After achieving everything what he wanted he still says "I am not done yet I have alot of shit to do" makes me feel alot more motivated.
You even found the seal documentary he watched
Now that was awesome...
Stanley Reading what documentary
David says in his book what he was watching, can't remember what class tho...
224
The documentary is called Buds class of 234 and it is a MUST WATCH
I love the "callusing the mind" term he uses.
Sending positive messages to ourselves and believing them is the key.
I seriously cannot help but relate too this guy,I'm in a similar situation my dream is to become a royal marines commando. I didn’t pass my candidate preparation course because I lacked the proper physical preparation now I'm grinding hard for 3 month's and coming back to pass in October or November. Not stopping til the dream becomes a relality.
Gl brother
If he had the money to get a personal trainer to help him lose 100lbs in 3 months. Every single professional personal trainer would say that is impossible. Even if you starved yourself with no food, you can only burn 2000 calories a day. When I was young, I was really fucking poor. I remember what it is like to be hungry.
David goggins was in a constant state of starvation for 3 months. Let me tell you, that's a lot of fucking pain and suffering. He burned like 5000-6000 calories a day.
2 meals a day at ranger school was probably a walk in a park.
Join the Army
He was living off his fat. He wasn't starving.
Her Eyes On Horizon oh shut the fuck up they’re both analogies getting at the same point
@Zfast4you nope it is not
@@dwarfzilla2529 do you even have the slightest clue about the human anatomy? he ate actually a banana only in the morning so he engaged his digestive system and that is much worse than starving. His fat doesnt make him less hungry you dimwit it makes him more hungry. Go educate yourself before you talk

I appreciate that Kabir. More films incoming...
The old me: "I'm just not good enough."
Post-Goggins Me: "I'm gonna fuckin make myself good enough!"
This popped up in my recommendations today for a reason...I'm so grateful.. this is what I needed to see!! God bless him he over came fears that fucked his mind up from childhood.. that's hard to do... people don't realize that weight has a lot to do with your psychological well-being and he really gave me some motivation today!! This story really does need to be picked up by somebody...Netflix where you at?? 😊🙌🏾
Thank You Tube for recommendations wishing you all the best
I have this memorized. Must listen to this at least once a day
Every morning I'm tired and can't start my day I listen to David Goggins and immediately I am wide awake and motivated (after hearing his voice) to give 110%. Please provide more David Goggins content !
3 months from now, I'll come back here and I'll be very proud of myself.
this is by far the best motivation video i've ever seen in my life no shit! I had to invent a guy that didn't exist! THIS IS SERIOUSLY DEEP MAN !!!!
This video helped me start my running journey. Im down 40 lbs in about 5 months. Went from never running to running 10-15 miles a week. I can now run 3 miles without a break. Im making myself good enough
i've come back to this video countless times. anytime i have doubt i watch this, and it never lets me down
Saving this video to check in this day next year. I will complete my goals and be better than I ever thought I could be. Thank you Mr. Goggins.
How are you doing now ?
How you doing?
Hopefully you still sticking to it ,✝️💪🏾
"The truth hurts, but doing nothing hurts more" - unknown
The truth is regardless of where you are in life there is always suffering. Your problems just take different forms, so be happy that you have a chance everyday to fix some problems. Smell the roses, life’s ultimately short.
Leaving for Fort Leonard Wood Missouri today for basic combat training wish me the best 💪🏼🙏🏼💯
I’ll be coming back to this video after basic training in August 2020
Great movie, so well made. David Goggins is the uncle no one ever had but wanted.
You can be whomever you want to be. The suffering and sacrifice is part of the enjoyment.
