When I saw Goggins start to tear up, and after holding so much shit in for all my life, especially after an abusive childhood; thinking it was not okay to cry. I started crying after so many years, and finally realized even the toughest and strongest people cry.
David Goggins changed my life ever since I found out about him.

No way, you don't do that. You don't take this moment away from him. He doesn't need your sympathy, he is the embodiment of the ultimate warrior. He got here all by himself, so let him enjoy it. Those are not tears of sorrow but of overcoming.

@@theraskles4400 There is nothing wrong with standing in solidarity with a brother-in-arms. However, what does he need? What makes you think he needs that gesture? Normally people console other people to try to help them relieve the grief or pain they are suffering. If you were truly in tune with David Goggins and his speech you'd pickup on the fact that this moment is one of pure joy, and one of, if not, the greatest moment(s) of his life. Do not misinterpret those tears as grief but as a feeling of fulfillment after years of discipline to reach his highest potential. The correct show of support would have been to respect and congratulate his accomplishments. You don't go rubbing or patting his back as if you're trying to soothe his pain. The man is a warrior so show him the proper form of support.

I found out about this guy on instagram and when I started listening to him more I found out about his book and I was so inspired by him and what he has done. I decided to lose the weight and change my life and get things right, I lost 254 pounds in 10 months and I ran my first mile today and I have never cried so hard in my life, but I’m not finished. *I thank my mom up here who......*
    pause and tears
    *who never picked me up...
who never picked me up when I fell*
*She taught me how to get up when I was knocked down*
I wonder how/why this tough-as-nail/woodpecker lip warrior shed tears. What went through the warrior's mind? He had mentioned his mom in various interviews and never seemed to be bothered with how things were. They just were. That's it. Roger that and drive on. After seeing literary every interview, and be inspired by this man since 2008, I can only guess. Perhaps David himself was caught in surprise. Could it be... as he thanked her, he saw glimpses in his mind:
    - When his mom mustered the courage to leave his abusive dad and took him with her
    - When his mom took multiple jobs to make ends meet.....leaving him in the process to fend himself against the bullies and the kkk
    - When his mom collected enough money to pay for a tutor so he could finally pass asvab after failing twice
    - When he went to her in tears after failing to gut out the first attempt to run to lose weight to meet requirement for SEAL training
He saw that in her failing to protect and help him as most mothers would be expected to.... she allowed the weak, fearful, insecure david goggins to become THE David Goggins.
To thank your mother not only for all she had done, but also for all she failed to do...
    *That.*
    *Takes.*
    *A.*
    *Big.*
    *HEART.*
Not only man of grit and guts, but man of big heart. Our hearts broke when his ruff and gruff voice broke. The room got a bit dusty too
All my discouragements seem nonsensical. I, who got 98 in asvab afqt, scored 69 in Navy OAR, among the highest at the recruiting station, yet do not have 1/8th of this man's heart and too often whine and complain like a little b****. Cleaned, swept, and mopped my apartment after this vid, ran 4 miles, then swam with bound hands and feet the next morning. I was that much empowered.
David Goggins, thank you is all I can say. Hope to shake your hand and say that in person one day. Damn Few.

Whose here while reading "Never Finished"?
Its through watching this man, that I've really learnt the meaning of the word respect.
Respect is when you see somebody do something and go "I couldn't do that"
There's something that you really want, that you want just as much as anybody else could.
And you see this one man working toward that with a passion, a drive, a dedication, that you can't even imagine to have.
You say, "I want to succeed, I really do... but I couldn't do what you do."
You can't help but, from the bottom of your heart, respect that man.

All because I was tired of living my life with no purpose. Goggins really sparked the fuel ⛽️ in me and now I’m carrying it with me every single day because I know I’m capable of doing more.I was tired of living with excuses and saying I’ll do it later and that’s the old mentality that still tries to creep up, it’s a constant battle but I always do what I must. It sounds easy talking about it but it a war battling your own mind, I refuse to give in now because I want strive to my fullest potential! I’ve tapped into a part of me I didn’t even know was there and I’m going to keep it pushing forward and I hope y’all do the same. Stay hard 🏃‍♂️💨
