As an FMA practitioner DO NOT do this 😂. This works in the movies and if your opponent is like 150lbs lighter than you. If it fails you're going to get absolutely lit up with a knife.

But let’s stand face to face and fight with sticks and knives? What makes more sense when it comes to getting hurt?
Disarming or standing face to face with a guy with a knife going head to head.
      Nonsense. 🙏

@@frogmantactical So you understand drills and arts? Clearly you don't understand that there are real world applications as well. FMA is taught and has been used in real combat. What you have there is a movie technique. Everything you were ever taught in the military with a blade was from FMA. But what would I know. I've only taught it to them before.

If someone does or doesn’t do something based on comments from the internet, it’s likely to end up poorly. I think he’s showing concepts and general applications of body mechanics and force. Not much different than Hu-Bud or Sumbrada… Take what is useful, discard what is useless, and make it your own.

As a multi-discipline martial artist, I cant tell you that 90+% of what is taught won't function on the street in an actual life and death situation. Most people do not/cannot instinctively translate martial arts into actual self defense.
Likewise forget there is a difference between the Art of Martial Arts and the actual use of self defense.

Man I absolutely love your content sir. It sucks couple weeks ago you announced that you were going to have to take off the training from UA-cam and put it on your patreon it's good to see that you're still out here though trying to help trying to teach people. I've learned more from you about not just becoming a more proficient shooter and protector but about being a decent human than I think any other channel on UA-cam. And I mean that I go out and I actively seek out motivational people, pages, channels whatever, positive content in general.... But you're sure you tell me a lot and I thank you very much for that and it's good to have you here with us still.

I think what has been overlooked by some people here is that the techniques shown are not being encouraged in anyway. They’re simply a last resort guide. Any instructor will always advise to run if you can or just handover what they ask as items can be replaced. These techniques are informative and last resort and for me extremely useful to know for that reason should I not be able to escape. I have a police background and some training as well as years of experience that encompasses that but still find things like this useful to know. Thanks for sharing and from the UK thanks for your service.

Having been on the recieving end of a knife attack. If you can bug out do so, next is get the knife out of the fight. I was over confident in my skills and had my right arm opened up pretty bad because i tried to end the fight instead of getting the blade out of the picture.

I've never seen anyone ask anything about this subject, but how old and tall is Jason? He served in Iraq in 1982 and doesn't seem like a tall guy to me. Not that this influences my admiration for his work and career, but it's just a curiosity because I think: If I send this guy, will he be taller than me? Age helps us with motivation too, remembering that he's also a celebrity and yes, it makes us curious about some facts...

Study all disarming techniques and see what makes the most sense for you. Personally, I wouldn’t want to wrestle for the control of a knife after it hits the ground. I'd rather turn the weapon on him as it's in his own hand or take it from him.
My nephew was robbed at gun point by one male, and my nephew disarmed him. This stuff does happen, so take it seriously.

40% of muggings result in you also being attacked after complying so you can take that risk or not, put your life in their hands or not, but its not a fool proof solution by any means

@@frogmantactical Yes I know I did see the video, I always watch your videos to the end 😊 I'm trying to open conversation, since I never been in this situation before. However, I don't think everyone will open their hand even involuntary. My question to you, have you tried this in real time? I don't think even as a special ops person you have to try this in a battle situation (unless things goes really south for the fight to be in knifes). So to sum up, I feel if the opponent isn't cooperative you won't be able to disarm like that.

What if he's holding the knife like a delta force operator, like a forward hand to distract and hiding the knife tight to the body ready to punch using the triceps like a spring loaded punch. What you gonna do frog man? The whole setup to this defense assumes that the attacker is holding a knife to you like in the most vulnerable way possible. If someone really wanted to attack you they'd be crouched, ready to spring with major force and you won't be able to use your hands or even locate the knife in time.
