My son demonstrates a few simple moves that can get you out of a bind quickly. When I was talking about jumping in the last technique, I say “the right foot is planted”. This means for the time being to support the knee coming up. At some point you will push to get off the ground. I’ll do another video on this soon.
"Speed is powerful." - Bruce Lee. The concept of a fight, is that you've gone beyond being timid. You've gone beyond being halfway. The saying goes, "train how you fight, because you'll fight how you train." This is not just a quick turn of phrase. This is actually the truth, and real-world experiences have shown me that is the case, every time. In the dozens of fights I've been in, the one where the skills and the force were both necessary, I fought like any other time when I was trying NOT to kill them. Because I fought like that, they inevitability beat me, and almost succeeded in killing me, if it hadn't been for prompt medical attention. Train like it's real. You're building yourself up, to break yourself back down. Be unbreakable.
Excellent video Jason. Important points, to do MMA you need an MMA body; to decommission an assailant you don't need an MMA body, you need an offensive mind set, a couple of gross motor movement technics practiced many times, and most important, intent.
VERY interesting!!!!!!!! I had taken self defense classes before (OK, years ago) and they never taught that. A strike to the head makes TOTAL sense! Thanks!!
I’ve been in fights and the one thing about pain in a fight is there isn’t much time to indulge it but to use it against your opponent in the fight. Yes you will get rattled when hit in the head, if you’re still standing that means you’re still in the fight
The method of defence is very good excep....some of us have been hurt so many times, there's no downtime in the brain. We just keep truckin. Deal with it later. Maybe, on another front, that on old sayin.....no brains, no pains? Jim
@@frogmantactical Jason, most people don't know what a "spinal reflex" is, much less how to apply it. Jerry Peterson (S.C.A.R.S.) and Tim Larkin, (T.F.T.) (I am sure with your background you know these names), they went to great lengths in their training to explain how to exploit "spinal reflexes "to create incapacitating injuries. Most people have no understanding about any of this.
This reinforces something my dentist does...when he is administering novacaine shots into your gums he pinches your bottom lip, because your brain is focused on that and not the needle sliding into your gums.
Genuine question. Why strike them in the forehead with open hands at the start? I know you said to disrupt the brainwaves but wouldn't a punch or jab do that too but also deal more damage?
If you are familiar with having a "fence" up pre fight (your hands are up in front of you and open like you are being expressive with your hands, but also using them to control distance) then just pushing the arms / one arm straight out open handed would be the quickest and least telegraphed strike, limiting their reaction time. Also a jab is usually more successful at a longer range than what's shown here, if someone is this close and slowly pressing forwards aggressively it can jam up a jab pretty easy. Usually a hook or check hook is a better option at close range like this. You could use footwork to move backwards and jab but generally in self defense the person going backwards is always only a a few seconds away from tripping over something like a curb or a chair or whatever. You want to be moving forwards when you attack, driving them backwards, break their balance and posture, make them trip over. The other advantages of open hand strikes are that its easy to grab after the strike, and its also a slightly wider weapon than a tight fist meaning slightly better chance of hit. Elbows are the same, even larger sized weapon so higher chance to hit a moving target, thats one of the many reasons they are used heavily in self defense, but its slow to transition from an elbow strike to a grab. Pros and cons to all the tools you could use.
youre not going to punch someone in the forehead unless you want to damage your own fist in the process. The forehead is hard surface. But you still want to hit the forehead instead of the face cause you're mainly trying to expose the throat or upper chest. Im no operator, but I have trained in a couple martial arts, and this makes the most sense as to why
Also forgot to say open handed strikes look less aggressive in court when they show the inevitable smart phone footage of your fight "it was just a shove to make him back up because I didn't want to fight"

No you didn’t bud. If you indeed actually fought you’d be on tapology and you’re not. No one thinks you’re cool and I fought over a decade ago as a light heavyweight…
Point taken and also that it must be used face to face, which probably doesn't happen as frequently as an attack from the rear. Still, it's another tool.

That's great 👍
Great demonstration!
Thank you for explaining it so well. Is there an advantage to attacking the throat or chest, versus the philtrum or knee?
Good demonstration sir!
Corbin must not have done chores or something. He's the agitator, but is the one getting pummeled 😂😂. Solid work fellas👍🏾
😂😂😂 ❤
THE GOOD OL THROAT PUNCH IS VERY UNDERRATED.
RESPECT
This is such a great video kids need to no it is ok to defend your self. And your grandson has the best teacher.
In this World, everyone needs to learn self-defense!
Nice information on disrupting the brain signals
The double ear cymbal slaps are very underrated as well imo
Bye bye equilibrium
Getting your 'ears boxed' is no joke. Startling, disorienting, and hurts like hell.

I think junior got him on that throat chop!😂😂😂 He had to catch his breath for a minute!😂😂😂
Love it disrupt disorient and keep the perpetual energy going…believe me I am a poor fighter so every little thing I can try and learn is important

Thanks for the video & as always keep up the good work 👍🏻
Frog 🐸 man thanks for tips
But if I use both hands I might spill my beer...
Superb video !😊
Great video
I'm a brand new subscriber to Frogman. Does he have a playlist of hand to hand combat like this? I've seen a couple of his videos and techniques.
Another informative video.
Buenas tecnicas defensivas bro, toca practicarlas, hasta que estas sean parte de mis reflejos naturales 😉👍🏼 gran abrazo y exitos Jason. Bless !
Seems more like Corbin was the one that needed the protective gear
Yeah, I I don’t have a problem teaching boys to be tough. But in my humble opinion, he looked
Like he was being a total a-hole to that boy!

Nonsense. Being hurt has zero effect on how your body functions. Even if you have a high pain tolerance your brain still shuts for about 1/2 seconds.

Exactly like a muscle stimulator. One will override the other and block the pain.
Anybody else notice the deer in the background?
Hi frogman, would this work for a woman to do to a taller man? Or is there a better move? I will search your channel, too.
Depends on how tall. If they are that tall go for the privates.
