    Today we test and review the himiway cobra ebike with the top speed, full range, and overall build quality of the bike and powertrain. It is a 750 hub motor paired with a 48v battery pack. It's a huge bike and very well put together.

    That what is looking like the mid-drive-motor, is still a plastic cover. In that casing is the controller of the battery. I also have the same bike, but with an limited speed control. I live in Germany, where an E-Bike must be limited to 16 MpH or 25 Kilometers per hour. Run the bike with E-support faster, you need an driving licence for S-Pedelecs. And the thumb throttle is also not allowed. But this will not limiting the fun fact. The city I am living in is surrounded by large woods. This is the perfect environment for that bike.

    I have had mine for almost a year, I put studded tires on the for winter riding and I was pretty impressed how it handled for such a heavy bike. My main pet peeve is the Death wobble like what motorcycle do. happens evertime I let my hand off the handle bars.
    Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

    I guess they saved money on the design by using the same frame they'd use for the mid-drive version, because that looks very much like a Mid-Drive box behind the peddles. I looks cool though. definitely for big/tall riders.

    I got the Himiway Zebra last year and I think it's a pretty solid bike. With the speed unlocked and using full throttle I would get around 40 miles per charge. I swapped the display when I hit 2000 miles with the original display to a KD718 to get the max top speed to ~30mph on flat. I still get an okay range around 25 miles on throttle only

    Better off getting Juiced Bike rip Current S with Performance upgrade. 1000w motor and 30 mph in throttle only. 2500 bucks, plus I brought Ebikling Front kit motor with 1200W for thousand to make it all wheel drive which puts it around 37 to 40 Mph in throttle. 4k just isn’t worth it.

    Yes, for what I understand is - it is still a bike. Not sure why you do not pedal at all no matter if there is a mid-drive or hub motor available or not. It's only for support. You should go on a trail or off road to show us all or even more features on this bike.

      That’s how HE tests them it’s his channel. Plus I think it’s a great idea. There are so many variables if one takes pedaling into consideration when claiming a range. The way he tests them it gives us a worst case scenario so we know the MINIMUM range we can get. I have a 500w 36 v Ebike with a stock 13 AH battery and I added a rear rack battery 20AH. My bike has PAX 1-5 5 being max assist I typically ride using assist 4 and ALWAYS pedal. I never go throttle only. I’m in NYC (Queens) pretty level where I ride few hills. That said keeping the bike between 16-21 mph for duration of my rides I get about 27-30 miles on the 13AH bat and 47-53 miles on the 20AH BATTERY. Min 74 miles / max 83. Just for kicks I’m curious now to do a throttle only test. My guess is about 1/3-1/2 LESS range

      Lol I was going to say the same thing lol. At that point it’s a sleigh not a stopping bike lol. If he modulated then brakes and just kept at that threshold it would stop much shorter distance

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 Рік тому

      What? Bad brakes that are hard to modulate and cause a tire to lock up can definitely be blamed. I don't know why you think the opposite. Maybe you meant the longer stopping distance (due to knobby tires) can't be blamed on the brakes.

  • @jfly2249
    @jfly2249 Рік тому

    These bikes have a 25mph hard limit, you need to swap out the screen to unlock. Weighs a ton and is underpowered with a it’s Locked 48v system. Great suspension, looks awesome, very expensive with no rack or fenders. You should review the Ariel Rider (a Himiway Cruiser clone but WAY faster and more powerful) and the Wicked Freedom or Cruiser. The Wicked Freedom is full suspension but has a 60 volt 20amp hr battery running thru a 40amp controller driving a 1000w motor. You can be a poser on a Cobra or ride a big boy bike, your choice.

      If they were to use higher end shifters, it would raise the price. I think your comparing this to a regular bike. A regular bike that cost $2400 you would expect very high end shifters, etc... When it comes to e-bikes the motors, controllers, battery packs, etc... are the real expensive components.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 Рік тому

      @@donwilson350 You get different prices based on how much overhead the company has. The price pays workers salaries, monthly electric bill, rent, etc... One company may have low overhead while another may be much higher. It all depends. This company may use $800 of parts and assemble everything and need to charge $2400 to pay their bills and salaries plus make a little profit. Another company may use $800 parts and only need to sell for $1900 because they have less expenses. Just the city the company is in can make a huge difference in rent costs. This is why you see the big range in prices.

    Yes, you could spend thousands of dollars on an eBike ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ and get something much higher quality. However, if you're looking for a basic model to try out eBiking this is a great choice. The assembly is easy as far as bikes go (took about an hour for me to do, I'm not an expert). All tools needed are included. I added the plastic mud guards you see and a more comfortable seat. The other reviews are correct that you're probably going to want a better seat (Giddy Up! Bike Seat is what I got - super comfortable). The battery easily handles a 2-4 hour ride if you add some of your own pedal power. I haven't even gotten it up to top speed yet - it is very fast. Components are not top of the line, but decent for the price and work just fine. It works great on dirt roads and singletrack and pavement although too heavy to do tricks or any serious technical mountain biking. I'm looking forward to using it a lot over the summer. Tons of fun!
