BOYA by-MM1: amzn.to/35M3tvE
Rode VideoMicro: amzn.to/35LXmav
If you're doing a lot more movement while vlogging, I'd recommend the rode over the boya mic. The boya is very sensitive to wind noise (even with the windscreen on) and also very sensitive to shakes/movement. With a little bit of EQ you can get both of these mics sounding good! Hopefully this video helps you out with your decision :)

For anybody encountering problems with the Boya while using the dead cat in the wind: cut out the foam that is inside, it really works!
Really?? I am facing the same prb which is showing in the video, my boya mm1 cut my voice into pieces once i am in wind. Does your technique really works?
@@muhammadsaad6382 Yes, it really works. If you don't trust it, try to cut it out so you can attach it later. But this is the trick. You don't have a lot to lose because the sound you have now is not what you could use anyway. Let me know how it goes
By cutting inside foam, will it work with noise cancelation?
@@muhammadsaad6382 just cut the edges of the foam loose from the 'dead cat' and and try it. I don't know about noise canceling but everything should work fine.
@@muhammadsaad6382 Someone made a video about it I see: ua-cam.com/users/shortsr5AB9Fo9Tdg?feature=share
You can separate the foam from the dead cat without damage if you do it carefully.
Hope this will answer your questions. Good luck bro
Now this is what a comparison video should be like.
Good comparison brother keep it up

This is the the best review I've ever seen.. they should learn how to review.. yeah from this video.!
Thanks buddy
I've been watching reviews for hours now and the is the most practical review I've seen soo far.thanks
This is the most thorough mic comparison I've ever watched! I'm clear on what to decide now. Thank you!
thanks pare. It's actually amazing that the Boya just came free with the cam I bought. Such a competitive little mic!
I'm using a R0de video mic for Zoom conferencing. The quality in your video sounded really good on my laptop, which is similar to what most of my customers used. I didn't notice the difference to the Boya in a room so I could of got the Boya and saved a little bit of money. What was missing in the test is what happens if you are recording voice from a distance and/or off to the size
Great! Perfect comparison. You've set an example. Thanks!
I have the Rode Videomicro ME for phone, so far it's been good, but seeing your video i also tempt to have a Boya for back-up, but since it's not good with the wind so I'm happy with mine. I'm thankful seeing your video, short and precise, just what everyone needs to see
Damn man, you've got awesome content and your channel is so underrated.
BTW Subbed.
This is really one of the best comparison videos. Thumbs up!
Dude you are the best. Honest and clear
Very nice and simple comparison.
Totally worth watching, I was in market for my vlogs.
Great Help. Got my 1st Rode mike.
Cheers.
thanks a ton! you answered my doubts so precisely. especially about the crackling sound when the camera itself is vibrating! is that a function of the furry windshield? one addition to your insights: if you are performing with live audio (with singers as well as instrumentalists, in a multicamera setup) this can be floor mounted, or even on a boom. the bass in the Boya does make a huge difference to liveperformances, when the cameras are on tracks. this is invaluable for independent filmmakers more than Vloggers!
Thanks for this video. Exactly what I was looking for.
Very useful and backed up comparison between the mics. Keep it up! :D
thanks Jeremy super review. wind shield is important question for me... so happy to see your input before buying.
Thank you so mush for review, I chose external mic for my tours and you helped me so much:)

Very helpful! Thank you😊
Just the comparison I needed. thanks Jeremy. Gonna eat broccoli and then eat rice with the broccoli now.
I have not used Rode VideoMicro mic but have been using boya MM1, as you said, it is affected by wind, and noise I think it filters quite well and importantly, its genuine price is only 1/2 compared to Rode VideoMicro, or 1/3 if I buy imported goods in Vietnam 😀
this is the best review I've ever seen dude, Awesome man
❤️ from India
Great review - thanks for this!
This comparison video is lit 🔥

Great job! Now I know which to buy!
Good testing, resolved my problem
Best review. Thanks mate.
Excelent comparison! Congrats!!
Yours was the first that popped up in my search for rode and boya comparisons, thank you so much Jeremy clear and straight to the point. I'm new to this blogging thing so I have a question. With blogging indoors as I will be doing. Does the Boya mic still pic up clearly at a distance of about a meter or two?
Great content bro !
Amazing review 👍 really helpful 😀
Thanks for this! Very helpful!
A music recording test would be the icing on the cake :)

Thanks for this great review. Very profesionnal.
thanks Jeremy it was helpful
Very helpful, this is exactly how a comparison cideo should be done.
Thanks
Thank you for doing this video 👏
it is good I watched this, I was about to buy the Boya, but I do a lot of outdoor stuff, so the wind noise problem is now causing met to think about paying up for the Rode
Very nice comparison! Finally made me decide for Rode :)
I've been researching and wondering why my voice doesnt sound good on boya, due to your video, now i know and have made a decision to purchase rode, my voice is kind of bassy and with boya, my voice sounds like an exhaust pipe, of course it can be fix with post but that's too much work compared to the time i can save with rode.
Your vids are CRISP
Thankyou very much for the comparison!
Thanks for review..its the Rode for me! :)
really good review, thank you
Very helpful! Thanks a lot!
Great review and amazing comparison. Although I'll say I thought the Rode sounded better out the box in all scenarios. Way less background noise there!
Great comparison!
Superb review. Nice!
Great review Sir

WOW good job
Super comparison
Thank you for sharing
Stay safe and healthy
great and helpful review, thanks.
Thanks! Glad I watched this
Thanks for such a useful review
Very useful review. I intend to buy Boya and your video changed my mind. Haha. Thanks a lot.
I'm having a tough decision because I just got the new Sony ZV-1 and the mic on that camera is pretty darn good but could be better so if you've used that camera before or anyone on here, do you know if the Rode Micro would make a substantial difference?
I got the Boya and I really love the sound. Thick and clear. The Sound from the ZV-1 is not that good in my opinion
Yeah , excellent comparison
Helpful video bro
Perfect, this is what i exactly want ,thanks
Good comparison brother keep it up
Perfect comparison!
thanks for ur helping it was so helpfull , by the way u r the best
Parabéns pelo conteúdo de qualidade! Saudações aqui do Brasil!
Nice review! We need to to see if any of these budget mics can beat the new Rode Videomic Go ii (2). If you run these through Izotope I think the results will be pretty impressive. Definitely got spectacular results using the Boya lav and Izotope. Lastly, would be interesting to see if we can mod these mics with foam in order to cut down on wind interference . 🤔 time to see if anyone has successfully modded these cheap mics on UA-cam.
Rode hands down. Crisp with good mid and high range definition. Great review! Many thanks!
Excellent comparison
This video help me a lot. Thank you
There so much difference for both mic when handle the wind noise. Thanks for the video!
