I work on the NICU as you can imagine we are always swaddling babies. We always try to cross their arms over this chest when we swaddle them not by their sides. It helps them feel as though they are still bundled up in mom. Just throwing it out there if you want to swaddle your baby but they aren’t a fan try crossing their arms on their chest instead.
My daughter was in the nicu herself and hated waddling didn't like it even when I tried to do it at home thinking that was going to be good for her she just hated it so much
Loved your video! So so helpful! Just wanted to point out that for inclined products or inclined "sleepers".... if baby is left in them unattended they can suffer from positional asphyxia. When their head tilts forward it can impede breathing. They don't have the ability to reposition so they can suffocate. Often they may not cry or "let you know" that they are having trouble breathing like adults or children.
It can be so hard to get baby to sleep but the safest place is on a flat surface without anything in the crib. Even with products such as Dock a Tot and the like, baby can suffocate on the siding. These are all great for play time but only when being watched consistently.

Also a tip for remembering which boob lol i used an app early on to track everything, but he’s a year old now and doesn’t need every diaper and feed tracked. I just put a certain ponytail holder on my wrist, one that’s slightly different than my hair bands so i know if i have another one on which one to look at. I put it on the boob to USE next, so when he’s feeding on the right, i switch the ponytail to the left wrist. This is amazing for half asleep night feedings, i just touch my wrists (it’s a thin band and my hair is too thick for those, so again, i can tell it’s different) without even thinking now and stick him on THAT side lol it’s amazing when the apps are harder to remember as they get bigger and you are running after them and such
I do this only a little diff than you. I keep it on the wrist of the side I last nursed on and switch as I’m nursing so I know to nurse on the opposite side! 🥰 I’m looking for a cute but comfy bracelet instead of my ugly ole hair tie 🤣
I love that mammas share experiences and tips with each other. I have come to learn that we really need to read the manuals that come with a product and be aware of the dangers of using the products. The dock a tot for example may be recommended for co-sleeping by the manufacturer but some countries are outlawing them due to infant suffocation. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends baby sleep on their back on a firm surface without any toys or bedding. Consider reading the manuals and being aware that just because it is available for purchase, it could be a safety risk you may not want to take. It bums me out we cannot rely on baby product manufacturers to have our backs.
Yes, I couldn't agree more. My baby uses the sense-u monitor just because I am so anxiety about this. And the sense-u does work.
Holy cow! So much has changed. I had a baby in the wrong era. I could have used many of these things for my son who was a preemie. I'm so happy that moms have so many options to comfort their babies now. Hopefully, moms are getting a little more rest than back in the day (1994 to be exact). Henry grows more adorable every video!
I’m having my babies 15 years apart, I’m due any day now and I can honestly say so much has changed with the technology for my 2 boys.

Thanks for the video. Be careful with the inflatable neck rings. Physical therapists, occupational therapists and swimming association have been sharing concerns about unintended injuries from body misalignment and impeded reflexes. Best to look it up for yourself of course

Sleeping bags / sacks are awesome if your baby doesn’t like swaddling. Mine hated it so we found some sleeping bags that started from around 7lbs 💖

Agree so much has changed from.1994 when I had my youngest...our daughter just has her second baby and lots have changed since she had her 1st too . In 4 years.. the owlet was gifted to her . Raiden still wears it he has seizures. But they have some amazing things now thanks for sharing jessi I will share your video they want more kiddos. Henry is adorable and kenz is getting so big ♡ ❤

Two of my four babies took a pacifier and they loved the Nuk too. A glow in the dark option would have been so helpful for finding them in the middle of the night! We called them binks or pacis. I’m so amazed at all of the cool things they have for babies. I used a boppy with my daughter and really wished I’d had gotten one for my sons. It traveled with us on long trips and made nursing in the car so much more convenient. Henry is adorable!!

Such a sweet little boy! Congratulations! Such a cute name for your sweet boy. Can you talk about how you came about choosing his name? Is he named after someone? Also pregnant with a boy and having such a hard time picking a name.
We just loved the name and it’s German which my husband is German. It means “Ruler of the home” which we felt was a strong name. I also thought it was cute for a little boy but strong for a man!

I feel like you like a lot of technology based items. I’m a second time mom and this all seems unnecessary and EXPENSIVE. But to each their own if that’s your thing and you can afford it. For anyone reading this comment I had better luck with baby swings and bouncers then I did it with a 4mom mama Roo. And I had gotten it for free! I hadn’t wasted my money on that. Also a simple bassinet with in attachable vibration/music player worked great.
Like you said “ to each their own”. This is what I do for a job is try and review products. 💖

The swing cradles him more. Both of my kids would only sleep in a rock and play for the first almost 3 months. They hated the bassinet because it's too flat.
I agree it’s because it cradles him more. I wish they put that thought into bassinets.
My daughter also hated her bassinet for the first three-four months and also needed to sleep in a swing. I am getting a bassinet this time too but also just got the 4moms momaroo swing in case he has the same problem as my daughter!

I just had a baby girl 7 weeks tomorrow. I was wondering about the nested bean sleep sack. How heavy is that weight. I’m typically not paranoid but I worry it’s too heavy and could stop her breathing. So stupid I know!

That’s not stupid. It’s such a real fear. My baby just turned 5 weeks and I don’t sleep well without his owlet sock. So I get the fear
It’s not heavy at all! It’s just a very light pressure. It’s just beans so if you can imagine that ☺️
Do you like the owlet? We got the miku but idk how I feel about it. I don’t even know what the alarm sounds like and I don’t think you can even test it!

I'm so confused. The baby doesn't like the bassinet, why do you recommend?
It’s a great bassinet for anyone looking for one especially someone who likes the SNOO but doesn’t want to spend $1100. My baby just doesn’t like it. Just because my baby doesn’t like something doesn’t mean it’s a bad product.
I wonder if it IS the bassinets fault... because every mom ive ever seen review the 4 moms bassinet has said their baby hated it.... mom always says it has great feautures.... but they ALWAYS say the babies hate it.... so maybe it just seems cool to us... but isn't babies top choice lol

Most of us aren’t made of money to afford those 4moms products and $150 for a changing pad to weigh the baby? 😂 stand on scale, step off scale, hold baby and stand back on scale. Subtract your weight with baby in arms to your actual body weight.
Well I can afford it so 😉
