Note from a nicu/postpartum nurse about swaddling, only swaddle with the arms in until they are starting to be able to turn themselves over because if they turn themselves onto their stomach they need their arms out to be able to turn back to their back
The swaddle is to keep them warm and comfortable so they sleep better. The reason for the arm comment is that once they're big enough to roll onto their stomach they might not be able to roll back onto their without their arms out of the swaddle
My hospital told me that swaddles are a SIDS risk from the beginning for 2 reasons 1. Accidental overheating - actually because the baby fights the swaddle abd works himself into a heat trying to move his little arms, as well as it adding an extra layer that might be too much. 2. Because the baby sleeps more deeply and it's better for them in the early days to wake more, even if it's tough on mom & dad
I am 21 years old and just found out I am pregnant. I cried for so many nights, not knowing what to do or thinking I could never be a good mom, but honestly after watching so many videos and talking to several people I am SOO excited to be a mom know. I know its not going to be perfect and not everything will look like rainbows, but I honestly feel that this new season will be such a beautiful journey for me! So yeah, thanks for all this videos and for helping so many people! So grateful!
I remember those feelings oh to well… just hang I there it will all turn out just fine and you won’t be able to imagine what life would have been without your babe. Sending you all the positive pregnancy vibes, you got this mama!
Typically the ones that are worried about doing something wrong or ‘being a bad mom’ are the ones that are the best. My mom was pregnant at 15 and had 4 children by 24 and of course financially it was a struggle early on but she’s the best mom I could have asked for. Your baby needs your love and attention not items. You got this Momma!❤️
I’m also 21 and just found out I’m pregnant! I’m engaged and planning a wedding so I was so torn with what to do because my fiancé and I want kids but I feel so worried I’m not ready and won’t be a good enough mom. I’m going thru an emotional rollercoaster and these videos really help reassure me and take my mind off the worrisome side of pregnancy
Im pregnant with my first child after being told i couldn't have kids. Im currently in my second trimester and been stress because idk what things were vital. Im glad u did this video ur videos r a huge help
I just found out I’m pregnant about a week ago and I am TERRIFIED. Your positivity and confidence has been such a comfort and a blessing. Thank you for being a great resource for expecting mothers!!
The haaka isn't just for "leaking" or catching your letdown. The suction action will also collect additional milk. Kind of like a manual pump so it helps to get extra milk for bottle feeds or to stock up your freezer stash. It collects a surprising amount, especially with the first feeding of the morning!
I didn't know that till last week but then I figured out how to use it and I love it!! So happy to be growing my freezer stash w/o having to to use a electric pump.
Yesss, I literally got everything in basic form and second hand. Didn't even bother with a stroller, I carry my babies in carriers, way easier and cheaper.
My wife is 3 months pregnant. I'm soo excited to be a dad. I've watched soo many of your videos now and find them easy to watch, informative and help me realise what life will be like. Thanks and keep up the good work. 🏴
Two things i want to add.. Maybe thats useful for someone.. :) 1. The baby carrier you have from baby bjorn is great ( i have one too) but we quickly realized that its really bad for your back (as my baby boy is really heavy) so we switched to a baby carrier with a belt around your hips and it such a difference! 2. The Hakka.. i also dont leak but i use the hakka for pumping.. Whenever i breastfeed i use the Hakka on my other boob.. its amazing how much milk i get just by using it during breastfeeding.. :)
1st trimester and just watching this while I struggle through awful nausea. Added a few things to my wishlist! Thank you for explaining swaddling. I had no idea what it was actually for!
It’s never too early! I watched these videos years ago when I was in my early 20s and literally saved them in a playlist so I could go back and watch when it was my time.
I didn’t leak much, but the haakaa was still extremely useful. Because of the light suction it still pulled milk from me. I had an oversupply and in one sitting I got 15 oz from my haakaa. It helped me not feel horribly full between feedings. I do recommend it, especially for building a stash or just for having a bottle for dad or someone to feed if that’s something you’re interested in.
I’m 18 2 more months left of school 5 weeks pregnant and not off to a good start, constant, constant migraines. Constant nausea. Etc, I’m already ready for the baby to come out, I’m so scared because I’m already off to a bad start. And these truly do make me feel better. ♥️

Hi lovely! My partner and I will be TTC in the next few months so I am watching all of these types of videos WAY before I'm even pregnant let alone 3rd Trimester! haha Thank you so much for this video! I think for a lot of these items if you can't buy them outright, you can also get really great second-hand versions for half the price to save more money too! :)
Getting ready for pregnancy and it was so strange that I came upon this video first out of all of them as my name is Sage too! There's not a lot of Sages and it was sweet to hear. Really good video🤍
im not a mom but I have seen a lot of adds or videos about the Hakka thing and from what I understand you can also use it almost like a pump but you just have to suction it on and then give it a few squeezes and your milk should start to come. and if not the squeeze a few more times and just wait. again I am not a mom and I could be complete wrong.
I love these recommendations, thanks so much for the great info! I have 4 kids already & the main input I can give is that nipple shields were vital for me when learning to breastfeed and until my nipples were toughened up a little. Also I finally discovered that with inverted nipples causing so much of a struggle with breastfeeding in the end it was so much easier for me personally to pump (electric pump) & bottle feed. Plus it’s nice that other people can feed the baby too if you need to get some rest/sleep.
2 months postpartum and I am a leaking mess!! I’ve gone through 3 boxes of nursing pads! So much wasted milk 😭 I need to get a haaka! This is baby #2 for me you’d think I’d learn my lesson lol. But we love the Dock-A-Tot, halo swaddle & A swing!

My baby was 6.5lbs and stayed in newborn for almost 2 months, but then switched from 0-3 to 3-6 right on schedule the weekend he turned 3 months. In hindsight, probably could have skipped the 0-3 month size altogether and just had roomy stuff for a couple weeks, but I had lots of 0-3 from my shower, so we used it for a very short time.

I understand their is a lot of controversy surrounding MLMs in general, but the YL Seedling products themselves are really great! I love the lotion and bath soap for my baby! They smell sweet and mild, and her skin is so soft and it’s very delicate for sensitive skin!

That being said I think buying just maybe 4 newborn zippy onesies is enough. Just try and buy smaller looking 0-3 months

I love this! ❤ Oh I do have a question. Do you use a baby bath when bathing Sage? If so which one do you use. Its one thing I don't have yet and I'm wondering about it being a need at the new born stage 🤔
I would definitely recommend one! It’s handy to have. We actually just use in on the kitchen counter so we can stand abs bath her and it’s a lot easier ☺️
Thank you for taking time to make this video! I'm going into 3rd trimester and so anxious about my baby registry and must haves! It's overwhelming to say the least..so thank you!
Remember this: all your baby needs is 1.a place to sleep 2. breast or formula to eat 3.some clothes (mostly onesies) and diapers ans 4. a way to go out/on a trip (carrier and/or stroller and carseat) All the rest is extra. Things to keep baby calm and entertained don't have to be many, YOU are their best toy and peace haven. I did not believe this but now I see how true it is.
Note to other moms or even pregger folk, the nursing pads she didn't use, I've used since they showed up at my house from my registry (31 weeks rn). I have REALLY sensitive nipples right now and they have helped SO MUCH in creating a nice soft dry fabric for my painfully changing nipples. Can't recommend them enough. They have saved me from a lot of pain. So, as Nikole mentions, it's different for everyone. ;)
Be glad Sage doesn't like the pacifier. When I was little I supposedly used one for a long time and according to my dentist it's the reason for my teeth ending up super crooked.
I'm here in 2024 its so funny when you mentioned the baby bath towel. But baby towels are essential. I got some at Ross but definitely Carter's holds their name 😅
I leak sooo much. I go through sooo many nipple pads in a day. Also the haakaa is amazing for me. I save like 4-8 oz a day depending on how religiously I use it.
ill need a lot, i just found out im pregnant (not plande) and im single, with little support. But i,m going for it cuz i have severe pcos and don’t want to go for abortion. this video is great.
Not sure if you're in the US but if so def sign up WIC. They will help pay for certain food while you're pregnant and help with formula if you're low income. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I know it's scary but you can do it!
@@shasha866 yes def check. Sign up for or apply for any assistance available. I'm guessing your country has even more assistance options for single mothers who need help than the US. I'm finally pregnant and just found out that it's going to cost me 4,000 bucks just in doctors fees to birth my baby. Not including the hospital or anesthesiologist or pediatrician fees. I've been trying to get pregnant for years but I had no idea that it would cost that much just give birth. Good luck with your pregnancy!
My baby is five weeks old. I think a newborn essential is a sleep training course. I did the one by Taking Cara Babies. A great investment and made my partner and I much more confident.
I'm about to turn 16 in July and I have watched so many baby videos, I really want one and ahhh, luckily me and my boyfriend have talked about it for the future.. I am just planning years ahead-
Ooo that’s so fun my birthday is July to and I am 14 turning 15. When’s your birthday? I also have always wanted a baby but I have no bf and I would wait till marriage lol
No way I’m paying that much for a bassinet. Babies have been sleeping for generations in a normal bassinet. I feel like modern times just go above and beyond when it’s not necessary.
First baby : ditto what the video is about. Second : repeat what u have . Third : buy only and only essentials or whatevers.in ur budget and available from previous pregnancies . Fourth : hahaha only clothes way way less than before ,bottles, stroller/car seat update, bassinet/crib update if u want . And nothing else lol 😆

I believe it’s called the startle reflex.
So, as Nikole mentions, it's different for everyone. ;)
So happy they worked out for you! We use them now as extra wash clothes for the bath 🛁 😅 they are great for that as well ☺️
@@HealthNutNutrition Ooh great idea! I'll pocket that one ;)
Do you use that same travel sound machine for daytime naps?
Hi Nikole! Love your videos! I'm curious to know where did you register for baby sage? there are so many options out there.
nice information. swaddle up to 1 months to 3 months.
Be glad Sage doesn't like the pacifier. When I was little I supposedly used one for a long time and according to my dentist it's the reason for my teeth ending up super crooked.
What's the name of the nursing pillow? bayba?
I love the mabie baby pijamas and blankets. They are super soft and cozy. My daughter has the same pink one that Sage has💕
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video.. I’m gonna be a mom soon this is really helpful please lots of love to sage ❤️😘
Congrats on being pregnant, praying you have a wonderful pregnancy, safe delivery and healthy baby
Thank you so much alexi Madison 💗
@@twishikapoor your welcome ofc
Wow! We can know a lot of thing need to have for our newborn
Question, how do you put them in a swaddle with the knotted nightgown?
What is the brand of those baby night gowns?
Where do you shop for your baby cloths love the soft and style 😍I'm expecting 🤰🏻 we appreciate it
Lol third trimester and 1 in the morning 😅 that’s me
Congrats on being pregnant, praying you have a safe delivery and a healthy baby
Me actually at 1 am in my third trimester watching 👁👄👁 🤣🤣🤣spot on!
1 in the morning here lol. I feel so at home now❤
I'm here in 2024 its so funny when you mentioned the baby bath towel. But baby towels are essential. I got some at Ross but definitely Carter's holds their name 😅
10/10 baby gowns. So easy.
Also, no one needs a SNOO or any top name item.
I leak sooo much. I go through sooo many nipple pads in a day. Also the haakaa is amazing for me. I save like 4-8 oz a day depending on how religiously I use it.
Hello I'm asking this again but how are you sage and matt ? Also sage is adorable and I hope she grows to be a beautiful and confident daughter ! ❤
were all doing really well, thanks for checking in!

👍thats great no problem stay safr
Where it’s your outfit from? I love it!
ill need a lot, i just found out im pregnant (not plande) and im single, with little support.
@@rebeccazeman9309 im in the eu the Netherlands but ill cheque if they have something alike here❤️🤗
@@shasha866 yes def check.
I will be praying that your baby is super healthy and that you can have an amazing postpartum experience
@@aleximadison7849 July 18th!! I don't mind if I do it before marriage or after, I am wiccan so there are no really religious rules for or against it
This was so helpful!! Thank you! Love all your videos
You always have the cutest/comfy/ yet flattering outfits. Where do you shop?
No way I’m paying that much for a bassinet. Babies have been sleeping for generations in a normal bassinet. I feel like modern times just go above and beyond when it’s not necessary.
I only paid like $10-$15 for my haakaa.. def wasn't $50. Maybe you got some sort of fancy kit or something lol
Are you in the states or in Canada
Yea same I got my haakaa from walmart for 12 dollars lol
Currently 1:16 am in the morning in my third trimester lol you're spot on ahaha
Sagey's reaction in the thumbnail is hilarious, cute and savage all at the same time hehe
What brand are the gowns and the cheetah print 2 pieces from???
This was so helpful, thank you 😊
It’s nearly 1am and I’m in my third trimester, so funny when you said that haha
this video is very useful, my sister is having a baby next month!!!!
congrats!!
Praying for your sister
I was surprised too, I didn’t leak or need nursing pads either ! Do you not squeeze the haka to get it to work?
Do you need a bassinets and a crib?.
I love the fabric of your clothes but didnt pick up on the brand and cant find it on the description:(
Thanks for this info! ❤️
Obrigada pela partilha Nikole!
Nice video
First baby : ditto what the video is about.
Second : repeat what u have .
Third : buy only and only essentials or whatevers.in ur budget and available from previous pregnancies .
Fourth : hahaha only clothes way way less than before ,bottles, stroller/car seat update, bassinet/crib update if u want . And nothing else lol 😆
