Had my Mech since it launched. Instantly ordered one from Evetech as soon as I could and it ran great for the last year but max temps have climbed to 82C even after trying to undervolt and fiddling with the fan curves (not underclocking). Will redo the thermal paste and get new thermal pads then test it
82C isn’t too much worry because most GPUs max and unsafe temps are 100 C but yes that’s something to watch out for. Make sure you see if your power supply is enough for the GPU
These cards have issues with the factory thermal pads being tiny and heatsink contact with the dye. I recommend getting new pads and using M3 nylon washers to install the cooler if you still have the card
I had the same issue. I took off the plastic backplate and it's made a big difference.
I guess I got a good one. a year and a half later and no thermal or noise issues. The comments seem negative, but mine is a beast.
Been rocking this exact card since 2019 absolutely no issues and all praise!
Getting this until I can get a 6800 XT
I had it for about a month and returned it this morning. Persistent issues such as black screens, game freezing, high temps (even with sufficient airflow) etc. I had tried every possible solution on reddit and UA-cam. Pretty disappointed.
Sounds like a faulty card. Did you get a new one or go with something else?
I do own this card. However it gets at least 85 degrees celsius and 100 degrees junction. At 80% fan speed though. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this normal?
Exactly my case. I remember playing BFV and experiencing hot temps up to 85 degrees.
I already did the DDU process, installed the drivers like twice but nothing.

You might have to undervolt this card as AMD often puts more voltage to pass more cards in QC.
Hey! I just got the same card but my temps don't look anything like yours. My idle temp is 48C with a fan RPM of 850 and junction temp going up to 100C with ~80% fan speed. Did I get a bad unit or is it something? I have a Fractal Design Focus G btw with 3 120mm Arctic fans, one front intake, one bottom intake and one back exhaust.
Looks like shitty MSI QC as I got a similar card which idles ar 48-50% with 820-870 RPM. -_-
I have this and this card was a pain in the ass when I first got it. Black screen temps high games crash. After a few driver updates haven't had any issues. Was so close to returning it
I am looking at getting this card, is it still running well after updating drivers?

Had it and nothing but problems.... black screen and crashes in games . To high temperatures and way tooo loud. Ended up undervolting it just to keep the temps down but got tired of crashing randomly in games and changed it for asus strix 1080ti... omg never had any issues and all id good again 😉😉😉

I got mine swapped out for this card for a pretty good price. I’m new to PC gaming and the one minute friend had in it stopped working and now I’m back to gaming and enjoying my pc. Red dead 2 and doom eternal look great on this

buy rx 5700 xt , this msi mech model itself, it gives equal performance as in rtx 2070 super., with 100 bucks less

yes its pretty decent around 70 deg C
But i had heard a LOT of driver issues in this car (sudden black screen, hanging in middle of gameplay, sometime even blue screens)., due to adrenalin software issues.
Hence sorry, i didn't mention in above comment, i DON'T recommend this card.
Since it had these issues, buy a 2070 super (msi), which gives exact same performance., but with no driver issues. Its temperature is pretty decent too (65 deg C), and also will be silent with decent cooling machine.
Combine it with R7 3700x (don't go for 3800x, its a waste of money of 120 bucks more for 4 fps extra. Don't go for intel either. Its a HUGE waste of money too r7 3700x cost 270 dollars, while a 9900k coat 470 dollars for same near performance and same cores and threads).
Buy a x570 gaming mobo (asus strix gaming or msi, i don't recommend gigabyte) , r7 3700x, rtx 2070 S or rx 5700 xt (your choice), go for market cooler (not stock cooler for cpu) like cooler master evo hyper 210, 16 gb corsair vengeance RAM, 650w or 750w (80+ certified must) PSU, and a nice cooler for your case. This setup gives you amazing performance.

Bought this refurbished for $320, on Newegg. I pray it works fine, seems some people where having issues with it going to black screens or so.
That was a major DRIVER issue with most 5700 cards, entirely software based. Hopefully your card will be fine

My 5700xt mech has so many black screens it’s horible and it overheats way to much and is crashing

Depends on your software of choice but for Adobe package you will benefit more from faster CPU in terms of single core performance. Not so much GPU.
5700 xt Mech or Evoke? I have both on sale in my country and can't decide. I prefer evoke by the look but I would prefer to get the the quieter and cooler one, I saw some comments about evoke last year had problems with bad thermal pads.
hey i just ordered this card a few days ago and since i've been on pcpartpicker and asked around a bit . i only have a 600w bronze psu from evga. i have a r5 2600 cpu overclocked and plan to use the gpu at stock speeds undervolted . do i still have to get a more powerful psu or am i good ?could really use the psu money for a better case for airflow

@@RohaN-hr5xl yup 600w is enough it's running perfectly fine on it. i can even upgrade my cpu to a 3700x and still use my 600w psu although i think if i upgrade my cpu i'll upgrade my psu just to be sure . i'll have to wait to see ryzen 4000 prices and performance

Agreed, not the best rx5700xt. I have it too, but only went this route due to limitations for size in my case, and at the end of the day its still an rx-570xt so still will perform on par, if not slightly better than the founders editions. If you have the space and can afford it, there are other cards in the range that perform better on thermals, which is ultimately worth spending that little bit more on. Having said that my card does really well - I haven't had any of these issues, so I'm starting to think I've won the silicon lottery to some extent (my thermals never seem to reach the crazy 90 degree's that some experience).
agree, I returned it a week ago. Still waiting for refund to buy another model. Probably the Red Devil version. I heard it's pretty quiet.
Found a used one for 225 think it’s worth it even though not much over clicking headroom it’s almost half the price of competitors

@@wykeless i had it and nothing but problems ... black screen in games and crashing windows stucking on window login screens ... to high teperatures and sounds way too loud ... changed it for 1080ti asus strix and life is all great again

@@alembosnjak1 just got one on Friday, built PC on Saturday, and have experienced nothing but crashes, black screens, PC not turning on. Used DDU, reinstall of windows, and swapped out CPU, GPU, and Mobo from my other PC to troubleshoot and it's always the card. Sending it back, getting a 2070 super.
have exactly same card and never got these numbers " FBS" gaming in 1440 is impossible in many games and surely cant go with Ultra settings.

@@goldenrule3264 Maybe you got lucky or something lol, mine could be heard at around 1500 rpm then becomes annoying at around 2000 rpm. It can easily reach 2700 rpm in certain games and be extremely loud. Though my current gpu at 2000 rpm is barely noticable so I might have gotten unlucky and got a card with bad temp AND bad fans

Crossfire is dead. If you want to spend that much just go with team green or wait for the upcoming 5900XT in 2020.
