I appreciate the fact that you show the struggle. A lot of channels edit things down to make it look so easy, so by the time I go to try it I’m like “I must be too dumb for this” Seeing other people struggle with it gives me confidence that its just part of the process and I’m not in way over my head lol
To make the door panels easier next time, the window switch panel pops up with your plastic trim tool. Then it makes it really easy to unplug the switches and mirror controls. Hope this helps for future installs
Hey Chloe, I purchased the puddle pods awhile back but haven't put them on yet, now that I've watched your install video I'm gonna do mine this weekend. Thanks for the tutorial!
I’ve had the puddle pods for about 6 months now. Great addition and very happy with them both visually and functionally. Meso has had the switch out of stock ever since I ordered/installed mine, this past week they’re back in stock and on their way to my door. Truly excited because I’ve always been bummed that I don’t have control over them. Not to mention the spot on my left switch panel with no blank cover has been driving me crazy. A few tips for install. 3M makes a wire pulling lubricant, the main issue with sliding through the door grommet is friction and the lubricant eliminates that install threat. Also, consider electrical taping off the connectors on the wiring harness. Break one of those, you’re done. In addition, consider using a wire pulling/retrieving tool. They’re easy to route cuz they’re rigid but still flexible and maneuverable. I love this mod and legitimately loved the install. It was fun but challenging. I did my homework watching many UA-cam videos and several more than once. Took me just under 4 hours from battery disconnect to reconnect. One last thing! Be sure to roll your windows down before you disconnect the battery and remove the door panels.
I installed the puddle pods recently. It took me about 4.5 hours while taking my time, including the puddle switch. The door boots were not an issue. I used a flexible claw grabber tool to feed the wires through and Vaseline to make it easier to pass the cables in between the wires in the boots. I also used some poster putty on the end of my socket for removing the mirror nuts. This kept the nuts in the socket and I never dropped one. You could probably use a magnetic socket bit as well.
Chole, thanks to your videos and your recomondation I got my Stinger Heigh 10! Got it all installed, added a front facing camera and even a firestick to watch your UA-cam videos (while parked lol). A month in and I LOVE it!! Keep up the great content for us Taco owners!!
Really like the videos. My son has a Challenger and the plastic covering the instruments was scratched by the idiots at the dealership, during their dealer "mis-prep" before he took delivery. I've referred him to Screen Protech & referenced your video on the product!
How did you manage to squeeze it to the pillar driver side for the connector? Mine sticks out horrendously when I tighten the bolt back with the 10mm socket
That looks like a aggravating install to say the least but I’m sure I’ll get it. 😊. I installed that 4wp bumper after watching your video. Kudos for tackling that. I had 2 guys help me do it with a winch in the bumper. Keep up the great content!
I just picked up the Meso Puddle pods and the Meso sequential turn signals during the 4th of July sale. It’s going to be a giant turn signal mod day for me. Wish me luck.
Hey young lady I love your videos you’re pretty good. I am getting a 2023 trail edition next week and I was going to do some upgrades on it is there anyway that you can help me figure out LED lights for the front and the brake lights and what kind of predators steps I should get. Any advice would help. Thank u in advance.
Great video! I have the Meso v2 fuse cover, the chrome delete: console kit, climate control, vent rings (HARD TO FIND!!), and door handles. I have the v2 key fob. I just found and ordered the red TRD start/stop button. I’m pretty happy with everything I have so far. I’ve had my eye on the puddle lights and could probably make a list of other things I want.
I'll have to do these puddle pods soon, looks awesome. Great work1👍 Does it get hot in your garage? SD is much cooler than AZ in the summer, usually. When I work on projects here, I have to wait until fall, winter months. I should really install a mini split in the garage!
Hey Chloé, I don’t have a Coma even though its my favorite ToyTruck. Your videos are very helpful and informative and i’m getting inspired with many mod ideas. And yes maam, I am now subscribed. 😊👍🏽
Looks like you have the footwell lights as well. Any issues with the puddle pod connection at the A pillar since that’s where the footwell light connection is as well. I have the footwells installed. Waiting on finding time to install the puddle pods. Thanks for the videos. 👊🏻
I installed these lights on my 2019 Tacoma, and they are incredibly bright. They are definitely worth it; they look awesome. However, I'm a bit disappointed because I believe I may have damaged the passenger-side window motor or connectors.
Can you do a video on how to wire the Meso shift knob to a light bar or ditch lights 🙏🏽or anything that can be wired to it but they said you could wire a light bar to it I’m in San Pedro ca so if you wanna try with my truck for a video I’ll be down to come through
The white clips that hold the mirror cover on the door panel side. Take them off the door and put them on the trim cover. Makes it a lot easier. Use small strait screw driver or a tiny pair of needle nose.
I saw those stock speakers too. BLUH!!!!Day 1 - I put the mid range speakers in the dash and my sound was forever changed. Day 2 was the front and back speakers and the sound was 100 times better. I used Kicker KCS for all 6 so not even top of the line speakers.
It sad meso doesn't make that much for 2nd gen, example that puddle lights I've always wanted one on my 2nd gen, guess there more on focus on the 3rd gens....
FYI be very careful when you tighten those 3 bolts on the mirrors to the door, I completely stripped my wires it got caught somehow and it blew my 7.5 fuses like crazy Until I noticed my driver side was chopped up and was making connection to the bolt causing a lot of issues Had to strip it and re wire it Should’ve solder it but for now it is what it is
That side cutter is not made for big cuts. I know from experience. When using on plastic, either nibble or get a different cutter. Time for some better speakers.
I just replaced my speedo cover because of bad scratches. And it’s scratched from light cleaning. Grrrrr. I’m buying another one for 30 bucks and putting that screen protector on before I install the next one.
Yea...no thanks on the puddle pods. Great way to break shit. Good video on battery...I pulled out my oem 2018 Taco sport crappy commen battery and replaced it with a perfect Sears Die Hard sealed battery. The oem had acid white dust all over the positive terminal....now gone and very clean.
The PP installation sucks. 😄 The worst was the door loom tunnel. That being said, worth the frustration and price. The switch is worth it, definitely upgrade. Sometimes you don't want the light. As far as trail or ditch lights, they are kind of useless for that because they shine to straight down.
I'm trying them out, and seeing how they compare to my rock sliders. Obviously they don't provide as much off-road protection, but they are far less expensive and great for daily driving!
@@jonahtamura2127 They will be wedged at the bottom of that general triangle area where the mirror attaches. Had to remove the mirror and used a coat hanger with blue tacky on the end
I bought puddle pods for my truck about 4 months ago.. they’re still sitting in their box cuz I haven’t had the nerve to dig into my truck like that 😕 Appreciate the video, it’s nice having a good tutorial on it, I will refer back to it often when I finally install mine… hopefully soon!!!
I’ve never been so frustrated and pissed off with an install before. I ended up breaking my door panel and then got mad and stabbed multiple holes into it with a screwdriver 😂😂 as I type this i still have the other side of the truck to do Edit: got it installed and I’ve never been so relieved to get an install done before. Now I just have to replace the door panel 😂
I dig you videos Chloe, my wife hates it cause I always end up buying the same stuff u added. Keep them coming. your content is great. I kind of wanted to be the first one to comment lol.. now ill watch 🤘
this girl is so cute, i think she's into trucks or something, who the hell knows, i just like hearing her talk and watching her!!! kidding, she's awesome... love you Chloe
Appreciate Chloe's authenticity. Easy to tell she's genuinely stoked about her rig. It's akin to me around a turbo..I know! 😅

Good to know!! Hope I remember this when I upgrade my speakers 😊
Hey Chloe, I purchased the puddle pods awhile back but haven't put them on yet, now that I've watched your install video I'm gonna do mine this weekend. Thanks for the tutorial!
new parts day is like Christmas un June! Nice work Chloe. excited to watch this!

I just finished a few minutes ago.. Just haven't been able to get the a-pillar plastic to fit back on. It's late and I'll figure that out tomorrow 😂

Nice!! The Stinger has been great with the front camera!!
I understand your frustration and appreciate your install videos. That had to be a PITA. Awesome content!
Puddle Pods?!? Something I didn't know I needed. Those need to be something that comes stock or optional at the least.
Thank the 4Runners and their puddle lights.
Stop saying that shit like this is why the Tacoma is now $45,000
How was it working with the weather boot between the door and the truck that houses all the wires? Did you just pull the boot out? Any wires showing?
Great job installing the mud light mod. This is going on to do list
Great job Chloe those lights are cool. You do fantastic work also
I used your video for the puddle light install! Thank you!!
Props for just jumping into it and doing it yourself

Thanks! Hope the Screen ProTech helps out!
I just put my puddle pods in yesterday. They are awesome! Must have. Great channel!
Have you done a video on cleaning out the AC system? I am now using a charcoal filter, but I still smell dome funkiness.
I've been meaning to do this since my truck's 4 years old, although mine isn't super bad. Perhaps an idea for my next maintenance interval!
How did you manage to squeeze it to the pillar driver side for the connector?
Mine sticks out horrendously when I tighten the bolt back with the 10mm socket

This is one of those installs that I would reach into my toolbox for my checkbook to pay someone. 😮
The puddle pods are great. Also added the switch for them.
I just picked up the Meso Puddle pods and the Meso sequential turn signals during the 4th of July sale. It’s going to be a giant turn signal mod day for me. Wish me luck.
Wassup, I picked up that exact same package. Now gotta make time to install. Good luck on yours.

The lights look awesome 😊 Great job , have learned a lot from your videos. Keep the great content coming.😊

New gear is always fun.
I had that problem to , I broke my flush cutters to and it was snap on then had to use my Dykes to finish

How do you not have scuffs on your door panels??? My Tacoma is only a year old and my driver side door all scratched up!

You are so good at this stuff! I want to go wheeling with you sometime.
1. Isn’t there an OEM Toyota version of this?
I just recently added the trail fx side steps too .. love them 🤙🤙

Hi Chloe. When are you doing the Pedal Commander vs the OTT tune video?
Do they make the puddle pods for other makes of trucks?
Did the puddle lights work with your VLED floor lights? It looks like it taps into the same harness
Yes, I did not have any issues. The A pillar was a little more difficult to get back on fully, but it finally went on and is secure.
I cannot recall if you ever installed a CB radio?
do those pod lights fit a 2015 tacoma???,,,,, not a 25

I ended up cutting the wire and feeding it through with out the square head. I just had splice everything together. Much easier!
just got the puddle pods, haven't installed them yet though. good to know i should plan for a longer install though.
Can I make an appointment. How much total time did it take?
They look good.
Get the switch!! 🗣️ total game changer to be able to have full control of the lights. And i did the same thing with the nut and white clips. Lol
Wish I could find the switch
Where can I find the storage for the back that you pulled out to get the jacks
That is a DECKED drawer system--I love mine! decked.com
Hi CK Keep Sleeping Over There Great Information As Always GBU And Family Stay Safe 🙏

These are controlled by your bed light switch correct?

I would have put aftermarket speakers in as well

No, they only come on when the truck is parked and door is open

Is there a $50 off code?

Based on their website, I believe they ARE compatible! I can’t confirm this myself, but it looks like they use different sections of the side mirror
Anyone know where I can get those clips that she dropped because I can’t get mine back bc dropped in my door
what made you change out your sliders to steps?

Do you ever make videos about Silverados? Just curious.i have an older toyota truck and a Silverado
Check out Lonestar Hawaiian--he's got some great Silverado/Chevy content!

I'm starting to think i should have gotten a Taco over the Tundra. A lot of mods for the Tacoma.
I am surprised that you still have the stock door speakers!!!
Thinking about changing them out 🧐😅
Lol, Chloe you’re funny as hell & cool.
Chloe - the Puddle Pods are nice, but .... def a JOB! 😠 🙃
Wish I saw this before I lost my white clip!!! Good tips
Did you end up finding those clips? If so where’d you find them at lol same spot.. I lost mines
