Nice tutorial, just a note from my understanding there were only two camo patterns for Spitfires pattern A and pattern B (which were the reverse of each other). Apparently they then stopped using pattern B at some point.
Hi Rob Hutton. Thanks for the info. All the references I got inspiration from seemed slightly different but had no idea of that so thanks for the heads up. Cheers
Great job as always, wish I could give double thumbs up. I just got the core game box set and the decals that come with the planes are rubbish (stickers, really?), please post a link to your source as I cannot find 1:200 fighter aircraft decals anywhere. Also had bendy wing issue but easily solved with a gentle, loving massage.
Thanks Michael. These decals are good and there is some available online or from eBay. You get a huge variety for different squadrons on miscmini. miscmini.com/shop?olsPage=t%2Faircraft-decals-1200-scale
There's the very early one half black, one half white, although for 19 squadron you can substitute aluminium for the white half. For the Battle of Britain you're safe going with Sky. But I've never seen a reference to beige for the underside. And as a previous poster said, the camo pattern was standardised, they used large rubber mats as a template when applying paint in the factory.
Why not use authentic colours? They're readily available from most model paint companies. Humbrol references are HU:90 (under surfaces), HU: 29 and HU:163 or HU:166 (upper surfaces). They're available in enamel and acrylic. The shades you are using are pure fantasy--maybe you're used to painting fantasy figures lol? Also, Tamiya masking tape is great for painting straight demarcation lines. I could only watch this video in small doses because of the "music", which was doing my head in.
Don't know how you got Spitfires with straight wings Andy. My battle of Britain kit and the Spitfire kit both had thin sings some twisted and the others looking like a goose in flight! Personally, I think Warlord should be ashamed of it b/c not only is it their product but a symbol of British victory.
I had to dip them in hot water for a few minutes, bend them into position then put them in ice cold water to set them hard again. It is a shame about the wings on all of the original aircraft as all of ours were bent not just the spits. Cheers for watching. TTA
If you haven’t already painted them. Stick them in hot water for a few minutes and then bend them into shape, then while they are still soft put them under a cold tap till they are hard again. Should do the trick. Andy R
Thanks for the tutorial, really helped me out. Went with some slightly different colours but really happy with the results
Your welcome TheCommanderKaiser. Glad it helped.

Cheers guys ... I've got no excuse now ... time to grab my brushes :D
Nice and well done... Except for the music during the tutorial...
Nicely done but I would have gone with a darker green.
Hi Eddie Pennington. It does look a lot darker in person. The lighting makes it look a couple of shades lighter. Cheers for watching.
Ok. I used Vallejo Reflective Green.
When are you doing the 109s?
Should be online in around a week or so.
Great. Looking forward to seeing that.
dude. great painting. but, the music is killing me man.
ditto lol
@@Montague1428 Have to agree the music is bad and very distracting.

Sorry being a yank, but I always thought the underside was a Robin's egg blue?
Thanks for watching. Majority of them were but the book I used for reference had about 5 different colours. I just decided to go beige for this one.

Anyone have a conversion chart from army painter to Vallejo

the music made this video almost unwatchable. Why the shrill discordant choppy noise?
All my spitfires have twisted wings I'm not impressed

@@TableTopAnarchy thank you for the advice much appreciated.
