Wildcats. Wildcats. Wildcats. Where are the Wildcats? Zeros fight against Wildcats far more often then they ever did against Mustangs. Love all your videos!
Hi Bubba Bundesliga. Thanks for the comment. The P51 tutorial is nearly ready to launch then the Spitfires, 109’s and the yaks will follow asap. Cheers Andy
Nice video and helpful But Most a6m5 52 zeroes by this time were painted Japanese Navy Green on top with a yellow leading edge stripe on the wings. After 1942, most zeroes were land based and needed the green cammo. The green eventually chipped and faded. Also, some 52s maintained a natural metal underneath As for the mustangs, check out the 348th fighter group schemes. They are probably the most famous of the pacific theatre based mustangs ( really dislike the cover art on the mustang box - they use Korean War stars and bars) Keep up the good work!!!
Hi Steve Gusky. Thanks for your positive comments and taking the time to watch. I know it’s not a 100% accurate but I couldn’t help myself in giving it a go. I was also tempted by the green scheme but I am trying to paint all the nations a different colour so they are easily distinguished on camera when they all go against each other in future battle reports. Cheers Andy.
Andy R TTA well said I’m sure a few zekes were in their original color 😉 Especially the ones that roll well Can’t wait to try this game Your application of the decals was great That’s the only stuff I use Have you ever tried a gloss coat first Then apply decals Then dull coat I know it’s an extra step but the decals adhere better Roll well my friend When is the next battle report?
Steve Gusky I applied them over a satin white and then sealed them down with army painters anti shine varnish to seal them with. Not sure about the next battle report but shouldn’t be too long I hope. Take care.
Andy R TTA copy that Also You are inspiring me to build up a few 1.72 scale a6m5 zekes for our next mustangs and Messerschmitts game Thanks for all you and your team do
Don't be frightened of using the stickers though. I used them for my Me 109s then I found some decals, even though I'd varnished over them they peeled off with minimum paint damage.
How do you do the stripe decal on zeros? It's my first time doing anything with models and the full stripe seems much more difficult than the simple roundels.
