You‘re the first person who actually clearly improved drawing 100 heads! I also loved that you added creativity and didn’t just copy a reference. Really loved your results! Are you going to do form studies with shading and lighting next?
First im going to share what learned from drawing all those heads, but trust me there will be an episode where ilearn about light and shading as well 😁
In case you searched for the app and couldnt find it: its called Head Model Studio. At least I found it like that. Really nice video, you motivated me to use the app to learn the fundamentals again (currently doing so) and try to improve my drawing skills with heads and this helped me a lot. And combinig references with fanart is an awesome idea to make it more fun!
Great video! It’s really nice watching people draw and I love the way your style looks! If possible could you make a video explaining the method of drawing the head that you used? Once again Great work and I’m gonna watch your channel a lot!!
That iPad application looks amazing! I think I'll play around with the free features for a while before pulling the trigger on the premium version. But the fact that I can easily manipulate the width and position of facial features is wild!!!
most of my brushes are a combination of generic brushes I've found and then changed the textures and shapes, or simply created them from scratch, but most of them are based on a circle 😂
Amazing progress man. You were a talented artist before the challenge and your improvement after is very evident! Question for you - about how long did you spend on each head? And did you set a time limit for each, or did you just go until you felt ready to move on?
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment😁 Normally in the challenge I moved on to the next head only when I felt ready, but more or less it was around half an hour per head, on some of them I went longer because I found them challenging, but yes, usually 30 minutes per head.
@@bigtravsartroad1967 Thanks for response, that really helps! I had done Med's 100 Head Challenge in the past, and saw some good improvement in my own portraits. I had limited my self to 6mins per head in the interest of time... (6x10 = 1hr a day, for 10 days). However, you've inspired me to try longer sessions with each head, focusing on a little more detail. I think I'll get more out of it this way. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Great work and the heads look really cool! An honest question though, why are you using photoshop? Do you use it also professionally? I am asking because there are great free alternatives or tools with perpetual license.
I've been using Adobe programs since years now and I like how they work together, even thou they crash sometimes 😂 But i guess the main thing is I'm too lazy to learn a new software for now 🤣 Plus I love the brushes i have now 😂
Gosh just watching this is really satisfying and gets me pumped up to do it too, glad I get to encounter this video, also by the way what is name of the book that you put down at 1:12 ? I am gathering Art books into my list so when I am able to find and purchase them.
