This game (the whole series really) but especially this game are criminally underrated. I tend to think people take these games less seriously because they’re shoot em-up’s for arcades, but in my opinion HOTD 4 is in many ways legendary. The graphics are fantastic (this game came out in 2005 and they’re still gorgeous), there’s a constant foreboding sense that you can die any moment, you’re on your toes and constantly on the lookout, the score, while not the best in the series, fits the scenery and the theme of a technological, zombie-infested city, the enemies in this game are great (fantastic, intimidating final boss), and Goldman, who became a complete laughing stock from the House of the Dead 2 for having the worst voice ever, ends up sounding like a complete intimidating, psychotic badass in here. This game of course has its flaws, but it seriously deserves for recognition for how to make a great, engaging video game. One of my favorites to this day.
I agree with your point about how it feels to play. The quarter devouring nature of arcade difficulty works hand-in-hand with the terror one experiences at having to deal with hordes of zombies to create tension like no other videogame
I remember one time when I was at an arcade. HOTD 1 was in the corner in mint condition and it cost 50 pence for 2 credits. When I put the 50p in this 12 year old kid come up to me and asked if he could play. I said sure thing and I kid you not people. We absolutely shredded the game to bits and completed it on just 1 credit each! I've never seen a 12 year old kid dominate an arcade shooter like that in my life. I was only 15 at the time. This in my opinion, is a deserving sequel to the fast-paced action of HOTD2, instead of that dodgy HOTD3... This would be delicious to play in Oculus or something. Too bad James died---or did he?
sorry late response, This actually happened first before the 3rd one in the timeline, list of HoTD games based on the timeline: HoTD Overkill HoTD 1 HoTD 2 HoTD 4 HoTD 3
Well, James did died in the 4th game. There’s a secret cutscene at the end that shows G (HOTD 3 ver) “talking” to James where he died that they will “fight it to the source”.
decayedmatter yea great video. makes me feel young again, back then I was a little kid, I always use my saving money just to play arcade games. *insert coin*
Ever wonder who the star is?? If we think about it, mainly all the characters that have not appeared in the game anymore have turned into bosses with the exception of Gary and Washington. Curien was the Wheel Of Fate and Goldman was apparently The World. Harry was injured in the chest by Strength in hotd2 and the star shows his weak point as a slash in his chest. Harry also has brown hair which is combed back, when you defeat the star you can see his head and it resembles such as Harry. How else would the star know Goldman?? Harry was most likely kidnaped and experimented on after his injury turning into THE STAR.
I always felt like a badass when playing this game with my cousin on my local play arena during my middle school years. Girls rarely played this so the boys were kind of annoyed when I tried my hands on it. And I never got past the second level. Idk why but the weak points was so hard to shoot for me.
This reminds me of the old days, Time Crisis 4, House of the Dead 2 and Silent Hill, all in the arcade, I was 6-8 years old when I used to go to the arcade
I Love how Thornheart's Actually doing an Upgrade to Goldman's Zombies that make them more ressiliance than they did on Second game.. I Mean "David" The zombie got a cool Touch. along with Revivied Magician Once again.

@@LukeSkinwalker yeah that time The house of the dead 4 was playable on Ps4
This game brings back so many memories
my favorite game in the arcade when I was young
Wow my childhood nostalgia hits me hard when i look at this game like my entire childhood built on this arcade game like everytime when i went to arcade called timezone/amazon here in indonesia and my child brain went nuts playing this game
this game builds up from having a zombie apocalypse to aliens and robot fight real quick
I remember i played this game in Italy when i was on Vacation, it was legendary :D
I love this series, we need a new HOD game now!
I remember that is arcades in the mall I like this game so much is my favorite arcades game
The house of the dead 4 is my favorite childhood gaming.
when i see the triangle i was like 'OH MY GOD ITS THE ILLUMINATI!!'BUT ITS NOT XD
28:18 Oh my God, Gabe Newell's going to kill us!
What
I remember this game. I usually play this game at Timezone(most of you know Timezone)
26:37 You lit that mannequin the fuck up lmao
This in my opinion, is a deserving sequel to the fast-paced action of HOTD2, instead of that dodgy HOTD3...
This would be delicious to play in Oculus or something. Too bad James died---or did he?
sorry late response, This actually happened first before the 3rd one in the timeline, list of HoTD games based on the timeline:
HoTD Overkill
HoTD 1
HoTD 2
HoTD 4
HoTD 3
Well, James did died in the 4th game. There’s a secret cutscene at the end that shows G (HOTD 3 ver) “talking” to James where he died that they will “fight it to the source”.
@@juliette1374 HotD Overkill don't count
There's a holiday park I like to go to and they have this game at the arcades, shaking the gun is a ton of pain XD
I just love the pure feeling of claustrophobia these games use to give me
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claustrophobia
This masterpiece used to give me nightmare everynight when i was a child
This is my favorite house of the dead game
29:12 For a second there, I thought he was gonna try to fart on us.
*fart noises in future remastered house of the dead*
Lmao
2 million views. BEAST! Thanks again everyone. How about 5 million now? Lol.
decayedmatter yea great video. makes me feel young again, back then I was a little kid, I always use my saving money just to play arcade games.

House of the dead 4 Drinking game:
Shot- every time they mention “3 years ago”
Or when they say "What?!" or "What's happening?"
This game caused me a few sleepless nights. Every time I see the arcade light gun shooter cabinet, I shiver in fear.
Had a blast playing third part with my dad in an arcade!
I always felt like a badass when playing this game with my cousin on my local play arena during my middle school years. Girls rarely played this so the boys were kind of annoyed when I tried my hands on it.
And I never got past the second level.
Idk why but the weak points was so hard to shoot for me.
The zombie is wearing a cool jeans pants, im amazed.
Out here doing gods work
Favourite arcade game at the movie theatre. Me and my friend only could get to the train until we ran out of tokens. Seeing this brings nostalgia
Played this at butlins, good times
Memorable Mall experience
WOW this is the house of the dead 4 is really cool
This reminds me of the old days, Time Crisis 4, House of the Dead 2 and Silent Hill, all in the arcade, I was 6-8 years old when I used to go to the arcade
I Love how Thornheart's Actually doing an Upgrade to Goldman's Zombies that make them more ressiliance than they did on Second game.. I Mean "David" The zombie got a cool Touch. along with Revivied Magician Once again.
