Another strategy for the pirates is to use the sleep spell. When an enemy is blinded, they still have an opportunity to attack you. If an enemy is asleep, they can't attack you. Great video as always.
I remember the first time I ran into 9 wolves in this game when I was used to just a couple opponents in random battles. And I remember the biggest scowl I threw at it too haha.
I have cheated myself like multiple times trying to be cheeky on this handheld emulator I got recently. You can save through the operating system and it will save like if you left the system on pause... But if you shut the handheld off it still goes through and actually properly saves as though you closed a game. In link to the past I've redone the whole tower leading up to the battle with aganihm (SP?) and end up in the dark world at least three or four times now. I finally realized I'm outsmarting myself and should just play as intended lol. Same with this. I'm playing dawn of souls so idk if it's even an option but I didn't do the little glitch for gil. I never played any of the ff games growing up so I want a fairly accurate experience. I'm not quite using these videos as a walk through. I'm a little ahead but I knew I would need some help so I wanted to find a decent walk through where I liked the creators style and voice as well as the actual content. This was a good fit. I'm doing similar with a channel called two guys playing Zelda.
Have you ever thought about doing a 'how over powered can you get before yaschas massiff in final fantasy 13-2' This would actually be alot easier as you can take a separate time gate and go to sunleth waterscape then from there you can go to Archylte steppe and there is great ways to get tons of cp plus some of the best monster companions in the game are there also you can easily get really strong weapons from ochu and immortal ... I think it would be really great to see you do this but it's only a suggestion
The original NES cartridge version didn't have phoenix downs. You were restricted to using the church to revive fallen heroes. That was a difficult version of the game. I haven't play FF1 with all these extra items and quality of life upgrades.
Against the pirates, I use sleep so that they won't even hit me at all. It gets about 6 of them every time, and you just hit the ones that are awake. Dark isn't bad though, I would take it over slow, but sleep is going to let you easily win the fight even at a lower level.
These vids got me started playing along on the dawn of souls version and ngl... I didnt do the little hack for gil.... And hitting elfheim myself made me rethink that decision. I realize you can do it at any point but im not even sure if you can do it on this version or not lol. So far though i am around lvl 13 and a little stuck trying to figure out what to do cuz i may not have read the story prompts as well as i should have when speaking to the prince.
You can grind the tons of gil you need for Elfheim easily by fighting Pirates/Buccaneers on the pirate ship, they're very easy to kill and have a high gil droprate.
16:40 great vid but "i rather used PH.D instead of using the inn"?? i mean. the inn doesn't revive in FF I. which means you'll have to PH.D or life regardless

I just started the game. Which spells should I buy from the lev 4 shops ???
Moop is clearly the real hero here. The other three are just meat shields for him.
xD now i kinda feel like sacrificing you
I made a monk just to see and he is such a tank. Warhel is the real MVP in my party. I am regretting not getting a black mage though. Stupid thief.

The save anytime is just so game changing

This makes me so happy 🥺 I love your videos and final fantasy 1. I play the NES version at least once a year.

Yes please
Up.
It's amazing, they nailed the whole FF formula on the first try. There must have been so many 100,hour work weeks.
Excellent series!! And if I remember correctly poison doesn’t kill in the field, but it will kill you if it ticks in battle.
I -just- noticed this version has MP instead of discreet uses per level and my jaw dropped.

First time playing this game so this is a great video to get me to get through the game

Putting the pirates to sleep. This is the way.

one of the tomb stones in the elf town says "here lies Link"

The ogres in the forest around Elfheim also drop good gold.
@yankees29 I've found causing the ocean before elfheim is better xp and Gil.
Great series can’t wait for the next episode
Are there any RPGs that reward you for getting all weapons, armor, etc? I know they are out there. I can’t think of any at the moment. 13:06.
Is Matoya's "Eye" actually her Crystal Ball? Since she's a witch and all? It's something I've always wondered about. Maybe a mistranslation.
Lvl 13 is in fact the breakpoint for lvl4 magic
If I knew about the map I would have had an easier time when I played this game
Played ff1 on ps1 and psp the psp is the best version and needs a PS4 port and I love this game monk my fav class
What version is this? Doesn't look like the NES 8 bit version.
Hey can you make every episode longer please? I love your content
easier said than done with my current overheating problem
I need to have 99 of everythings!🤣
how you get map?
Select B
World map = While holding X press select.
Wow. Seeing this game with modern sprites is really weird. I can't handle it.
man, this version has MP pool... the Pixel Remaster can only cast CURE 4 times per rest..
Will we be WarMech hunting when we get there?
One would imagine; he'll want it for the bestiary.
Blindna = "Blind? Nah"
Poisona = "Poison? Nah"
lol
Wait, where's the "Mythril Sword"? I'm sure they were sold at elfheim
no, Asto's can drop one though, next time you can get it is after the airship

16:40 great vid but "i rather used PH.D instead of using the inn"?? i mean. the inn doesn't revive in FF I. which means you'll have to PH.D or life regardless
How to see map in psp😢
Why won't you go to the best early game grinding spot east of the boat town?
because you already get op way to easily in this game
@@Primalliquid92 just heard in a later video you mentioned it :)
Awesome
Beat this over 11 years psp now the one ps4 got lost again

Grind by the dwarves before you go to the elves. Better money and exp.
