On one hand I admire and envy the spiritual depth and knowledge of our ancients but I’ll never for the life of me be able to understand why human sacrifice ever made sense. This girl was beautiful. I hope she was greeted by pure light and warmth when she died.
Human sacrifice was done all over this earth. The reason can be found in the Bible. Satan demands blood thus people who thought Satan was a god gave him humans.
I think there's a lot of nuance to it that maybe modern day people don't understand, but to these people they weren't just rituistically killing a child. They were sending her to a new life. Human sacrifice was seen as an honor for some, but even more so it was seen as a necessity. We were so much more vulnerable to the whims of nature, and since the gods were present in nature it was very important to appease them to ensure survival. We kind of take for granted how comfortable our lives are now

@RXI _ Conquering is not what makes one human. It is inclusion which makes us human. Conquering or the need for domination is due to a higher representation of the masculine. If there were more women leaders then the feminine will create a balance for the nature of the masculine. This is also one of the reasons we need to empower more women leaders and instead of replicating how men do things, should emphasize her own nature of inclusion. We really need this balance in the world. So no conquering is not the nature of human beings.

It is a completely and totally distinct religion where God is kind, forgiving, loves you, and is working everything together to the point He can walk in person with us again on a new earth that is without sin and shame. @@kingkoi6542 put an 'end' to religious human/animal sacrifice by killing millions of people in the name of another god you mean lol there is no difference
To clarify, this form of sacrifice was used to freeze-dry their god-leaders. This was the highest honour in their culture. They did this to their Kings and Leaders when they passed. Their bodies ,when frozen, were brought back to Incan cities to partake in political affairs and religious ceremonies in death. This 'victim' thought that she would become immortalised and claim a seat amongst her gods. This was more than likely willing.

The girl was the maiden’s half sister. The boy was unrelated to either and was probably a commoner intended to serve the girls in their afterlife with the gods.

Girl..good night 🌙 😊.. I'm done and I'm having a budweiser 😅
We kind of take for granted how comfortable our lives are now
Because you can’t think outside your time
@@NeerajRajput1990 yes everyone did some sort of human sacrifice. During the crusades millions were killed/sacrificed in the name of Jesus Christ. During the Islamic wars many killed in the name of Allah.

Most of you miss the point. She wanted this. It was a great honor. You need to relies she really believed in her God. Stop applying your 21st century sensibilities to another culture/people. That is offensive.

Your comment is of the utmost stupidity. There's nothing offensive about speaking about the atrocities committed throughout history in the name of God. The Incas were cruel in their worship practices this child was brainwashed the entire life to get killed at the height of her youth. So kindly fuck off...
As part incan, I know some of our beliefs and traditions were wrong but the Spanish colonizing makes no difference. They invaded all of South America and destroyed the incan empire, not to mention they stole all our treasures, raped innocent children and killed anybody of incan blood. It just isn’t fair. Both sides would be wrong.
i have avá and rankulche blood and like... white people act like they didn't try to wipe us out
Today's Latin America is the result of the mix of two cultures: the European (Spanish, Portuguese) and the Indigenous. Don't blame one of your parents.
@@dove797 what's the ignorance about the comment? All America, down the Rio Grande is Mestiza. Its the product of the clash of two civilizations: the indigenous and the European, whether you like it or not the true is that the majority of us are the product of this encounter.

That doesnt mean they cannot point out the wrong doings and educate others.
Its like being half British, but not acknowledging the fact that they've messed several countries up for their own selfish benefits. And thats the same thing British schools do. They never let the population know the degree to which their ancestors have caused harm to others.
It would just make people ignorant.

It said that the sacrifices must have charisma. That already gives clues into this girls personality. She had strength and loyalty. That only makes me appreciate her more. Unfortunately she had to die for it, but without her, we wouldn’t have much knowledge of her peoples history, so that is a honorable position for her in itself. She represents her people.

Many religions are centered around dying for a god, Christianity is the only one centered on God dying for you. It is a completely and totally distinct religion where God is kind, forgiving, loves you, and is working everything together to the point He can walk in person with us again on a new earth that is without sin and shame.
To explain, God and humans (Adam and eve) walked together in the garden of Eden at the beginning of the world, but since they sinned, and God and sin cannot exist together, we are separated from God unless we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as Lord of our lives (meaning we live to do His will, instead of doing what we want, which is the only way to find real meaning in life, and I and everyone in this world and probably you too, have tried to find meaning in everything else and have bren unable too.).

Some people say modern celebrity culture is a new form of human sacrifice. At first they are also rigorously selected and then celebrated like Gods and then a lot of them end up dying miserable deaths.
The Secret of the Inca by William Sullivan goes into this topic w/ great detail and he very well explains the inca beliefs in maintaining the heavens that lead them to this gruesome act of child abuse.
