However bravely she & others faced their fate, in REALITY, religion & cultural pressures aside, she WAS a human being, a CHILD, and one whom, almost certainly, felt deep fear & dread inside, naturally, not wishing to have to be sacrificed/killed, only wishing to be allowed to continue to live, given the choice.

The 140 children remains are not cotemporary either, but rather within a range of 100 years from one another, so rather than a mass sacrifice taking place, it was instead a sacred sacrificial site.

@Thabo Johannes As someone who's younger than the sacrificed girl, I would be happy to die in such conditions. Treated like a living goddess for a whole year, being loved by everyone in the empire, having a painless and peaceful death, becoming a goddess after death, meeting the original gods and my ancestors... Who wouldn't want to sacrifice themselves in such conditions? Especially since the Incas didn't view death as an end. Mummies were usually celebrated after their death and implicated in important decisions, no one considered death to be a terrible thing. Just because you aren't part of their culture doesn't mean that you can speak for this girl who was probably happy to do it. The greatest honour. Why would she be stressed when she was drugged enough to not feel pain and was convinced to have an amazing after life?

It's sad what Religion has made people do to each other! What I find interesting though is that, the God of the Bible, hated when the Canaanites sacrificed their children to their false Gods, he said that those people burned their child with fire, and that such a evil thought had never came into his mind! The Canaanites actually had a city named for the loud drumbs that would be played to drown the cries of children burning alive! How he felt about this showed that he would have never accepted human sacrifice as a form of worship, and that it was an evil idea, (also disproving hellfire, that he would burn people alive forever, He said that he would never think it, burning someone alive, it's so evil) but many forms of false worship have led people to horrible atrocities and then they blame God for them, when he in fact was disgusted with those horrible ideas of false worship. Just an interesting observation on how the God of the Bible actually differs from false god worship.

Human sacrifice was seen as an honor for some, but even more so it was seen as a necessity. We were so much more vulnerable to the whims of nature, and since the gods were present in nature it was very important to appease them to ensure survival. If there were more women leaders then the feminine will create a balance for the nature of the masculine. This is also one of the reasons we need to empower more women leaders and instead of replicating how men do things, should emphasize her own nature of inclusion. We really need this balance in the world. So no conquering is not the nature of human beings.
