Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

I was lying in hospital 2008 wen I turned on t.v. and lo and behold. ...SEAL came on. Singing. This very same number..I was 74 and had shingles. I thought I was as low as it could get. . But wen Seal got thru with me that .ite. I knew I'd make it ok...this the 1sr time I've felt that way since...this song got something inspiring but I've nvr heard it but those 2x that made me feel shivers and tears in my eyes. I needed that today. I'm gonna make it. InshAllah

Couldn't agree more Momma Boop! I used to be able to find a version they did --shot outdoors at night, might have been just after Ferguson? If anything his voice was even more raw, pure and tore right through MY soul - since that Sam Cooke song has been my favourite forever. I love everyone for their unique qualities but Clarence is just SO extra-special! He and Titi singing 'Rather Be Blind' is unbelievably beautiful/perfection as well (a tribute to Etta James) - you have to check it out! I play chromatic harmonica--and isn't it strange that every single song PFC does seems to fit so well on my own instrument too? ;) Or maybe I'm just addicted to these wonderful people, their beautiful voices and their so fascinating instruments. :)

I had just listened to a different version of this Sam Cooke cover, also by PFC, recorded in L.A. and I was doing a search for Clarence Bekker, and I saw this one, and did a double take. Wait, didn't I just listen to this? But that vocal wasn't Clarence . . . oh, this one was recorded in Brazil. As soon as I heard the opening lyric it was like I was a judge on "The Voice" and my hands moved by myself to click the LIKE button (thumbs up). #respect
