This dude deserves WAY more subscribers and views. I have been searching low and high for quality blues guitar lessons and this guy is the ONLY one on UA-cam who has been able to teach me in a way that’s not overwhelming or confusing. He just shows you what the fuck to do and let’s you get on with your life without stress. My man deserves WAYYY more subscribers and views.
114 comments? This is some good stuff. Played it through, practiced it several times. I made several mistakes, made it sound decent several times too. Good lesson. Thank you. This is what it's all about. Enjoyed every minute of it.
Can’t believe that there were actually guitar players that didn’t like this, but there you go! Takes all kinds! Thanks for the tutorial! Something else too work on!
I've learned more licks from just two of your videos than I have from months (years) of clickbait guitar secrets. You're the real deal as far as blues teaching goes. Thanks again Bobby!
Hi there I am new to this channel it's good, thanks man from a grateful Scotsman from Glasgow city, think ile be hanging around a little longer, your distortion is okay and I use the tube screamer through texas specials and American special stratocaster, love these again thanks brother 🎯🎵🎶🎼
Got to give Bobby's course a shout out here. I don't know him, never met him so it's a genuine opinion. £15 pm, cancel and resubscribe at will. Literally hundreds of lessons, all well structured and in manageable chunks. Really good value for money course.
doesn't matter how many times you crack the "not literally *snap* the high E" line, I still chuckle like I'm hearing it for the first time ;) Another great lesson, many thanks!
Cool man, I'm just taking what I can remember and hold on too here cause this is more "feel" than tab. This is just slow it down to .5 playback speed. And it's still too fast to remember it all at once, unless watch it over and over to get the entire phrasing note for note. Thanks man
It's a relatively inexpensive Fender Highway One Strat. I think it's 2007 or 2008. I changed the pickguard and pickups. The pickups are Bare Knuckle Apaches.
Curious why the logo in backwards on the headstock? Great lesson tho...- Never mind- just figured it out at the end- you're a lefty and reversed the video for us righties- nice of you- cause it is weirdly difficult to follow along with a lefty lesson- which is weird because it is really just like looking in a mirror
Sometimes at a fret and sometimes not Had the frets dressed thinking it could help but it has not I use 10s Maybe it's my technique but if I go easy my notes will not sustain Should I go for larger strings?
I don't claim to sound like SRV. There will only be one Stevie Ray! While influences are essential in developing one's own style, I don't believe it's healthy to try to sound exactly like another guitar player. However, I feel it's important to analyse some of the best known players' styles. The point of this video is to prepare the player for a live or studio situation that calls for a Texas blues influence, giving them a few of Stevie Ray's more typical licks. I'm not sure if you've done any pro session work yourself, but throughout my 30+ years of live and studio work, I've often been asked to draw from or imitate the styles of David Gilmour, Brian May, Steve Cropper, Hank Marvin, Nile Rodgers etc. Sometimes this is hard to do while retaining one's own style. I'm sure you'll agree it all depends on what the job calls for.
“How to Play Like Stevie Ray Vaughan”
Step 1: You Can’t
Step 2: Try Anyway
Step 3: Bust Your Hand
Step 4: It Was Worth It

If you don't mind.... What model, year and color is that strat ?
It's a relatively inexpensive Fender Highway One Strat. I think it's 2007 or 2008. I changed the pickguard and pickups. The pickups are Bare Knuckle Apaches.
This lady plays cool 👌
Ha. Very funny what you did there. You saw a man with long hair and called him a lady. Have you considered a career in comedy?
👍👍👍👏👏👏🙏🙏❤️❤️
There was Texas Blues way before SRV. And it wasn’t Strats and Tube Screamers.
Oscar Jordan and?
Make a video for the second half
The full tutorial is part of a huge blues course and can be found at www.absolutebluesguitar.com

its hard to play looking at a mirror for some reason. really trips me up
Why is the video mirrored?
Anyone know why I always snap high e strings on a full tone bend??
They usual last 2/3 days and it happens on all 3 of my guitars :(
what brand, what gauge?
@@alexpiccione610 usualy ernie ball slinky, daddario NYXL lasted 4 days, elixir nano about 5 days
@@mickwalker8887 where do they break? maybe a sharp edge at the bridge or peg?
Sometimes at a fret and sometimes not
Had the frets dressed thinking it could help but it has not
I use 10s
Maybe it's my technique but if I go easy my notes will not sustain
Should I go for larger strings?
Mick Walker yes absolutely
interessant
Is that a Texas accent? Lol great lesson!
Thank you very much!
Gives a free lesson and gets a thumbs down, wth
I’m quitting guitar I’m done and tired of playing the same licks and not getting out of the box I’m stuck in life sucks.
Step 1: you must be Stevie ray Vaughan.
No one can play like Stevie. You may sound close but you will never sound “like” him.

Lol if i can fallow you at this speed i think i need not show the UA-cam lesson
Lead its easier for me than rhythm
I dont know but so much ny frriwnd say.
Ed you play has SRV style..
But idk 🙏
