I know this is a fairly old video, but as a reasonably recent player of FS22 on PC (was on console beforehand) this has opened up a whole new world of gameplay for me. Things aren’t quite the same with regard to removing the gates (possibly due to a map update?) but nevertheless, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to explain some of the basics of Giants Editor. You’re definitely one of the better content creators for FS22.
I used to delete things as well, but on some maps, that can cause issues depending on how they were made. Instead what I've switched to doing (based on some advice from Discord) is select, then grab one of the three colored arrows that's pointing upwards, and drag the object well below the surface. If it's just below the surface, some things (AD, CP) will detect a possible collision, but if it's further down, that's not an issue, and you aren't removing an item from the "stack" of objects and changing how something else might work. Love the tip on removing cars--that was a lot more painful in 19 until Map Object Hider came out. If you think the map maker is likely to release an update, it's worth taking some brief notes on your edits so you can easily re-apply them on the new release rather than limping along on the old, edited version.
Also, if you’re wanting to delete a lot at once, like with the whole fence line, you can left click and drag a selection box over multiple items at once. Saves a bit of time for those long fences. Just be careful not to accidentally select something you don’t want to delete.
Just discovered this guide after a long time on Calmsden. Still the best GB map that’s currently on release. Thank you for such a clear guide on Giants Editor….I was afraid to touch it before I watched this. Have made some changes and added an access just below the main yard on to the road to make easy access over to the field next to the cows as driving through the low hedge really bugged me. Excellent… well done! 😎
I've not had any trees that flash, or I haven't noticed. Maybe it's a graphics setting. If you are using Nvidia, use GeForce experience software to optimize your setting for your graphics card
This has helped me out so much, thanks for taking the time to do this. It just takes the game up another level when you know how to customize things how you want. Awesome.

Hi i tried to follow on this but mine will not go past the 60% load when i put it back into the FS22 folder am i deleting something i should't ? trying to just remove fence and gates but game does not seem to like it

Any idea on how to remove the "to let / for sale" sign on the map ? Cant see them on Giant editor and with the ingame editor, when you click them, it ask you if you want to remove em, but you only have "escape" button available. Also the "Destroy" option doesnt work . Thanks for any help.
Man I wish they had some more giants editor features accessible in the base game so console players could change some stuff a bit more. For example just being able to delete any object you want like a hedge or a building that’s on some land that you want to use but it’s not a sellable building
Hi Scroft, great video! I have done everything I wanted in the editor but there are roof lights in one of the barns that I cant seem to find, you have to delete them like the cars (you cant just click on them). Any help on where to find them would be much appreciated!!
No you don't need a new save game you can still use your old save game files just make sure you have a backup Calmsden Mod map the first time i tried it the map wouldn't load up on the game not sure why so i delete that edit Calmsden modded map then i started again to edit the map & this time it worked fine & loaded up in game
I had a go at removing hedges all worked in the giants editor tool and I rezipped the files exactly like you did with winrar but it didn't work for me. I am a novice so may have done something wrong but I followed every instruction you gave step by step as I had your video on while I did everything so god knows what I'm doing wrong 😢
im needing some help with this..... i followed all the steps to edit the 4x elm creek map.... all i done was some minor terrain editing to make fields bigger, and removed some walls and 2 buildings, clicked file, save... re-zipped the file and when i go in the game it dosnt show up at all? what have i done wrong or what have i missed ?

It looks like you have edited a map that you haven't used yet. How do I find the map that I am currently using in game and have already made changes to with the in-game editor? I am using steam by the way. What I am trying to do is edit out a game error: I cut down two trees but it has left two mid-air trunk sections which are acting as collisions for farm equipment. When I open the map file in editor, it shows the tree as if they had not been cut down. Deleting the offending trees does not remove the mid-air stumps. Moreover, it restores all the trees I had cut down elsewhere. Am I using the wrong pdlc file?
Great tutorial as you always do! I wonder when will appear a "Map Objects Hider" mod as the one from FS19... That could be easier, quicker to remove what it's not needed or that will restore easy the hidden object!
Great video. though its a pity you can't remove hedged in game like with a chainsaw or some like you can with trees. I'm playing on a UK map where you can't drive through the hedges (which I like) but I would love to combine a couple of fields without editing the map.
I have deleted some sheds,trees and other objects on Osada map,saved the changes ,but now a lot of textures on the map flicker,appear and disappear........Any ideas why?
I followed your tutorial but had no luck in getting the game to load the modified id3 file. It won't even show up in the game in the DLC folder. I tried another tute by a different author with the same results. So something has changed somewhere, probably an update.

I'm having trouble with Giants editor. When I open the main Map.id3 all I can see is the mesh. There is no textures or anything. (Installation path is set to D:/XboxGames/Farming Simulator 22 - Window 10 Edition/Content/x64/) Also when I open the chicken barn all the gates are missing. Hope someone can help.

does anyone know how to get rid of the fake hay bales and caravan from the farm with the cattle. I have tried in editors editor but I am a novice and cannot locate the hay stack. I got rid of the caravan but it has left what appears to be a collision because cannot enter the empty space back in the game. I want to use the area to store real bales in the game.

Hi Steven, Courseplay has changed in FS22. You can still do all of the same features but it has a new look and most of the course generation is now done in the courseplay ingame menu. I have some videos showing how to use Courseplay in fs22. Playlist is combined with Autodrive
I've tried and tested.. but after repacking and adding back to mods folder map doesnt exist :/ I extract back to .rar like you did after saving and so on. anyone might have an idea what's causing this?
Cries in console... I wish there was a way to do this on PS5. I love this map, but some of the hedges are just in the way. Between fields 3 and 6 are 2 good examples. The road going to the cow farm should continue to the silo building. I drive through anyway, but seems weird driving through a hedge.

Once i edited the map, the MODHUB shows an update on the map so if i update it what is gonna happen to my edited version? and i edited the V.1.1 of calmsden as i know there no update for now but modehub shows an update im confused.
Because you've edited the map it will say it needs updating. If you update it will revert the changes you've made and you will need to edit the map again
Could anyone help me troubleshoot? I have the newest Giants editor and winRAR, when I open up the i3d file of the map in the calmsden folder the giants editor comes up but before anything sign of the calmsden map appears it just closes itself down? Any help at all would be much appreciated
@@eabhanmcginty3709 eventually yes, (Hope you get this) I got around it by making a copy of the sound I3D file (Just in case) which would open fine in Giants.. I opened sound I3D then in the editor I imported the Map I3d into that Sound I3D.. I then deleted the actual sound bits in the editor Scenegraph so it effectively become a carbon copy of Map I3d.. I then saved it as Map I3d instead of Sound and it works fine now.
@@craigbigboy1 unfortunately even trying your fix, im unable to import the map over to the scenegraph into the editor, the editor just tries to load it up and then closes automatically. I have to be overlooking something I just needed to move one of the houses in Calmsden but it’s not meant to be

If you aren't playing multiplayer, don't re-zip; you can just move the folder into your mod folder and it works fine in singleplayer. You avoid a lot of weird issues with zipping to the wrong relative path that way.

Unfortunately not. I think you might need to start a new save.I would wait for version 1.2 that's coming very soon. You need a new save anyway for that
i was brought up near this farm, my best friend as a child lived on it. it's so amazing seeing a place i grew up in on a game! it's stupidly accurate

make sure your game is fully updated, there was a prob with flashing trees at the release of FS22 but is was fixed in an update some time ago

The problem with that is that lots of objects are grouped together so you can inadvertently remove things you don’t want to

Having this same issue when only deleting the shrubs for field 4, save, rezip and all yet all the animals are gone when rejoining the game

i deleted objects i cant see them on the map but when im driving im hitting them and car is stopping like unseen barriers
Some of the objects have hidden colistions. look in objects and more objects

👍. Cheers. What about if there is invisible collisions once removed? Ie. the fertiliser barrels near the may gate of the main farm.
Delete the whole section associated with said item you want to delete

I removed gates and got error corrupt gates on a different map lol. got to work that one out

I'm on Xbox and accidentally sold the chicken coup, now all my doors and gates are gone. Done that before seeing this video. Any way to get them back?
