No shit, I grew up on a farm and I still found this game extremely confusing at the start and all the vids I watched confused me even more. What I would like is a vid showing what equipment you would buy if funds were unlimited. Thanks
I've watched and read so many different things and this video FINALLY gives the PERFECT step by step process for MULTIPLE different methods. Stellar job!
I'm a new player and I've spent HOURS trying to find a tutorial like this one. But I need to say that there's no other tutorials like this one. This one is one of a kind, truly amazing work, thank you so much! ❤
Best Field prep video ever. I love the visual supports you've added to the video that also follow as a step by step guide as well as a well ordered list of the steps needed to properly prep a field. I've done the first method and followed it to get the same results and it's quick, simple and easy. Thank you
Based on my limited knowledge and from what I learned in this video, the only thing I can think of is stones. If you have them turned off maybe you still need to roll the field?
@@calebantle4325rolling is always required after seeding. The 98% comes from not user a mulcher after harvesting. That is my only guess. The stones only affect your vehicles
Brilliant presentation Harv. Very clear, concise and also nicely paced as well. I learnt alot from it and wanted to say thanks for your time and effort put into making it.
I didn't realise that herbicide spraying effects the yield bonus, i suppose it encourages you to go fully organic where you need to use manure and slurry or solid/liquid digestate along with weed raking but if they grow to big raking becomes ineffective in which case you would need to harvest with weeds in the crop seriously effecting yield bonus.
That was awesome. I've always gotten 98% and have done all the steps as indicated but there must be an order issue, so back to the drawing board for a little readjustment. Didn't know you could weed without visible weeds. That's really cool because waiting for the weeds to push up can be tricky, depending on our time setting the weeds can get into the hoe/medium or boom right into the large/spray stage. That pre-empting them is a great tip. I'm sure I'll be getting 100% now. Thanks...2 years later.
you should do a followup video with equipment combos for reducing the passes even further. I mulch and drill or mulch+subsoil+cultivate in one go, just need a big fendt ;P
Loved the vid.. You missed the perk of using slurry/diggestate... Can put double coating so in one pass it will have you go half speed to get 2 coats in one pass... saves the double fertilizer cost...
Thank you for the helpful information as I had trouble getting the 100% but on the empty field I decided to plant grain crop and got a 98% without mulching a very helpful video thank you
Yeah plows turn the soil over deep enough it eliminates weeds like you said. Subs oilers are suppose to do the same but everytime I use a sub soiler I still get weeds. There are some good mods for plows so that’s what I stick with
Im just now finding this video over a year later, but I'm still so glad I found it this is gonna make my farming experience so much more fun and enjoyable
Thank you so much for this detailed guide. The game help guide sucks so much and this 15 min vid was more helpful then me staring at the help section for 4 hours yesterday
It’s also worth noting that if you’ve cultivated your field and weeds have grown before you seed, and your seeder is capable of applying fertilizer, the fertilizer WILL be used from your seeder but will not be applied to the field
I watch so many videos and none of them talk about how to get the bonus as well. But however your video definitely does and man I absolutely appreciate it keep up the good work. And thank you so much for educational video.❤
Fantastic video thank you. I’ve been trying to find the definitive answer for correct field work order and this is by far the best I’ve come across. Thanks so much, I’ve got to go and get some mulching done!
Great video Harv, but is there any need for a plant to grow in a certain way ?, i started growing soybeans and i do the direct drill method, and i still can’t get to %100 yield bonus
Hey, good video! I love straight-to-the-point videos. Well done. I have a question though, what is the point of the seedbed state of a farm? If that doesn't contribute to yield, does it perform any function? There are multiple ways to plow and cultivate but it seems like they're all just flavour if you can just do it like you demonstrated to get to 100%. Weird that there's a bunch of complexity with no substance.
Thank you for doing this. Awesome job. Future farmers stating out will appropriate this. Good tip with the oil seed radish. Will have to test that out. I found mulching is 2% without that step you only get 98%
You can line and fertilize at the same time using the Knverland fertilizer spreader from the mod hub run that over the field first then you can mulch plow cultivate all at once I haven't had any good luck combining a roller with anything the helpers don't seem to be able to properly turn around
Would love to see an update on this for the Precision Farming mod! I also believe herbicide gives a flat 2% penalty no matter what, so even if you used it on a field with no weeds (for some reason), you'd still catch a deduction.
This is the best farming sim video I’ve seen, you made it so simple even though it’s complicated lol. Also, why do you not need to put lime with all the methods??
Thanks for the good order to do the new steps in! With how important lime is you’d think they’d make more to Han a couple spreaders in the base game. Cheapest on is still quite a bit to buy when you start!
Great video bro! Keep up the amazing work. The one question I thought I was going to have you answered before you even got started. Just so you know that question was how do you get 100% on a fallow field well you answered it oilseed radish.
Harv, I used your awesome tutorials for FS19, have you got something similar for 22? Or even just the starter mods list like you did for 19, cheers man!
In my case as a noob farmer, I harvested wheat, I did not have a plough needed status (I don’t think) so I fertilised, mulched, fertilised then seeded. But the seeder would not seed on a mulched field, it would only seed once I had plowed. Maybe the field status on the map said I needed to plow, I didn’t check there, only checked the small field info box when standing in the field.
Reply to myself for fellow noobs, seeding can only be done on a ploughed or cultivated field. With the 9m Lizard plough, it's fast and easy. With a "normal" small plough, then a cultivator would probably be quicker.
Hey Harv, good to see that you stay consistent with providing great tutorials, much appreciated! so .. . if I disk instead of cultivate I can forget rolling as no stones are generated and around 2,5% yield bonus, I skip mulch as well and overall I loose around 5% yield bonus. I loose round 2.5% of my overall harvest by skipping 2 steps. Then for grains after first run that needs plowing I just need to lime(every 3rd harvest), fertilize, disk, seed, fertilize, weed, wait, harvest, collect straw(depending on crop) and can skip 2 steps for 2.5% harvest impact. I get it that rolling is relatively fast and necessary for small stones, but disk is not much slower than shallow cultivator. This would help lower preparation times on big fields with minimal impact on yield. Thanks

It’s also worth noting that if you’ve cultivated your field and weeds have grown before you seed, and your seeder is capable of applying fertilizer, the fertilizer WILL be used from your seeder but will not be applied to the field
